동아의 물리적 특성 및 in vitro 포도당, 담즙산, 카드뮴 투과억제 효과에 대한 열처리 영향 (Effect of Heat Treatments on Physical Properties and in vitro Glucose, Bile Acid, and Cadmium Transport Retardation of Wax Gourd (Benincasa hispida))

  • 동아를 autoclaving, boiling, microwaving 처리하고 그에 따른 물리적 특성과 in vitro 생리적 특성의 변화를 조사하였다. 열처리 방법에 따른 보수력은 microwaving이 9.43 g/g으로 가장 높았으며 boiling(5.12 g/g), 무처리(4.63 g/g), autoclaving(2.61 g/g) 순으로 낮아졌다. 팽윤력은 열처리 동아의 경우 $22.4{\sim}25.8\;mL/g$으로 무처리(18.0m L/g)보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 동아의 calcium 흡착력은 microwaving, boiling, 무처리, autoclaving 순으로 나타났으며 autoclaving의 경우 나머지 처리의 30% 정도의 낮은 흡착력을 나타내었다. 열처리동아의 세포조직은 autoclaving 처리에 의하여 가장 심한 구조적 변형을 보였다. 반투막을 이용하여 in vitro법으로 확인한 glucose 투과 억제효과는 boiling 처리에 한해서 20.6%(투석 1시간)로 나타났다. Bile acid 투과 억제효과는 boiling, autoclaving, microwaving, 무처리 순으로 각각 22.9, 17.1, 14.3, 8.6%(투석 1시간)의 투과 억제효과를 보였다. Cadmium투과 억제효과는 열처리 방법에 관계없이 65% 이상으로 높게 나타났다.

열처리에 의한 굴(Crassostrea gigas)의 영양성분 변화 (Effect of Heat Treatment on Biochemical Characteristics of Pacific Oyster Crassostrea gigas)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate changes in the biochemical characteristics of the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas in response to boiling water bath ($85^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$) and autoclaving ($100^{\circ}C$) heat treatments for 5, 10, 15, and 20 min. The weight loss (7.6-9.5%) of oysters exposed to a $100^{\circ}C$ boiling water bath for 15 min was lower compared to those receiving no treatment. Oysters exposed to the $100^{\circ}C$ boiling water bath for 20 min lost 27.8% of their total weight. The $100^{\circ}C$ autoclaving treatment resulted in weight loss of 13.0-26.1%, with the highest weight loss occurring after 10 min of treatment (26.1%). Heat-treated oysters had significantly higher levels of crude lipid and crude protein relative to untreated oysters (P<0.05). In the heat-treated oysters, total amino acids (including proline and glutamic acid) were increased, but they were decreased by the 20-min $100^{\circ}C$ boiling water bath and autoclaving treatments. The fatty acid composition of oysters was not significantly affected by the water bath heat treatment, but oysters treated with $100^{\circ}C$ autoclaving for 20 min had decreased polyunsaturated fatty acids. Oysters exposed to the water bath heat treatment had significantly increased vitamin A content, but $100^{\circ}C$ autoclaving for 20 min was associated with reduced vitamin A content, as compared to all of the other heat treatments. Therefore, oysters were affected by heat treatment, undergoing metamorphosis and weight loss, but nutrient quality did not change significantly compared to controls, except with the 20-min $100^{\circ}C$ boiling water bath and autoclaving treatments.

미세역학적시험법과 음향방출을 이용한 Jute 및 Hemp 섬유/폴리프로필렌 복합재료의 내구성 및 계면 평가 (Interfacial and Durability Evaluation of Jute and Hemp Fiber/Polypropylene Composites Using Micromechanical Test and Acoustic Emission)

  • Jute와 Hemp 섬유/폴리프로필렌 (PP)의 내구성 및 계면 평가는 끓는 물 실험 전 후로 해서 조사되었고 끓는 물 실험 전 후에 따른 Jute와 Hemp 섬유의 수분함량은 TCA를 통해 측정되었다. 끓는 물 실험 후, Jute, Hemp섬유와 폴리프로필렌 기지재 사이의 계면전단강도와 기계적 물성은 감소하였다. 반면에 물에 의해 부풀어 오른 미소섬유에 의해 미처리경우와 비교해서 접착일은 증가를 하였다. 그리고 끓는 물 실험 전·후의 Jute, Hemp섬유와 폴리프로필렌의 표면에너지는 동 접촉각을 통해 얻어졌다. 계면전단강도는 항상 열역학의 접착일과 일치하지는 않는다. 끓는 물 내에서, Jute와 Hemp 섬유는 물에 의해 부풀어지게 된다. 그래서 표면적과 수분 침투공간이 증가한다. 끓는 물 실험 전 후의 Jute와 Hemp 섬유 미세파괴 경향은 명백하게 다르다. Jute와 Hemp 섬유/폴리프로필렌 복합재의 환경적 영향에 의한 미세파괴 형태는 광학 현미경을 통한 관찰과 음향 방출 수와 에너지에 의해 상호 일치함을 보여주었다. 끓는 물 실험 이후, Jute 섬유는 Hemp 섬유와 달리 부풀어진 피브릴에 의한 낮은 인장강도에서 나타나는 미세파괴 형태를 보여주었다. 또한, 부풀어진 피브릴에 의해 미세파괴시 음향 방출 수는 증가를 하였으며, AE 진폭과 에너지는 감소하였다.

경사면에서의 분무냉각 막비등 열전달에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Film Boiling Heat Transfer of Spray Cooling for Inclined heat transfer Surface)

  • The film boiling heat transfer was experimentally investigated for the water sprays impacting on an inclined hot surface. Full cone spray nozzles were employed for the spray cooling experiment, and experiments were made for different inclination angles of $\theta=0^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$. The experimental results show that, in the downstream region of the inclined hot surface, increasing the inclination angle increases the local heat flux slowly because of increasing the number of rebound droplets. However, the inclination angle of heat transfer surface had no remarkable effect on the local heat flux of spray cooling under the present test conditions.

비등점의 가열 표면에서 나노유체 액적의 증발 특성 (Characteristics for Nanofluid Droplet Evaporation on Heated Surface at Boiling Temperature of Base Liquid)

  • This study aims to experimentally investigate the evaporation characteristics of nanofluid droplet on heated surface at boiling temperature of DI-water. In particular, textured surface was used to examine the effect of wettability on evaporation. At the initial stage of evaporation process, dynamic contact angle (DCA) of nanofluid droplet with 0.01 vol.% concentration on textured surface rapidly increased over its equilibrium contact angle by generated large bubble inside the droplet due to lower wettability. However, contact angle of nanofluid droplet with higher concentration on textured surface decreased with surface tension. In addition, total evaporation time of droplet on textured surface was considerably delayed due to reduction of contact area between droplet and solid surface. Thus, evaporation characteristics were highly affected by the nanofluid concentration and surface wettability.

  • Effects of acetic acid, malic acid and citric acid on copper dissolution from new and used copper saucepans at different concentrations (0, 0.02. 0.04, 0.1 0.2, 0.4, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0%), different boiling times (0,10, 20. 30, 40, 50, 60mins.), and different temperatures (5, 20, 40, 60, 80, 10$0^{\circ}C$ ) were investigated. As acetic acid concentration increases, copper content increases. Copper dissolution concentration from copper saucepans at boiling in malic acid increases more than in acetic acid or citric acid. At above 6$0^{\circ}C$, as the temperature increases, the concentration of copper dissolved from copper saucepans also increases. As boiling time increases, the concentration of copper dissolved from copper saucepans also increases. In addition, through repeated use, the concentration of copper increases as well. And copper concentration dissolves in large amounts from used saucepans rather than new saucepans. The dissolution of copper with distilled water by repeated use does not dissolve at all. 1% acetic acid dissolves in large quantities.

The DISNY facility for sub-cooled flow boiling performance analysis of CRUD deposited zirconium alloy cladding under pressurized water reactor condition: Design, construction, and operation

  • The CRUD on the fuel cladding under the pressurized water reactor (PWR) operating condition causes several issues. The CRUD can act as thermal resistance and increases the local cladding temperature which accelerate the corrosion process. The hideout of boron inside the CRUD results in axial offset anomaly and reduces the plant's shutdown margin. Recently, there are efforts to revise the acceptance criteria of emergency core cooling systems (ECCS), and additionally require the modeling of the thermal resistance effect of the CRUD during the performance analysis. There is an urgent need for the evaluation of the effect of the CRUD deposition on the cladding heat transfer under PWR operating conditions, but the experimental database is very limited. The experimental facility called DISNY was designed and constructed to analyze the CRUD-related multi-physical phenomena, and the performance analysis of the constructed DISNY facility was conducted. The thermal-hydraulic and water chemistry conditions to simulate the CRUD growth under PWR operating conditions were established. The design characteristics and feasibility of the DISNY facility were validated by the MARS-KS code analysis and separate performance tests. In the current study, detailed design features, design validation results, and future utilization plans of the proposed DISNY facility are presented.

수평단관 상의 유하액막 열전달 (Falling Film Heat Transfer on a Horizontal Single Tube)

  • Falling film heat transfer analyses with aqueous lithium bromide solution were peformed to investigate the transfer characteristics of the copper tubes. Finned(knurled) tube and a smooth tube were selected as test specimens. Averaged generation fluxes of water and the heat transfer performances(heat flux, heat transfer coefficient) were obtained. The results of this work were compared with the data reported previously. As the film flow rate of the solution increased, the generation fluxes of water decreased for both tubes. The reason is estimated by the fact that the heat transfer resistance with the film thickness increased as the film flow rate increased. The effect of the enlarged surface area at the knurled tube was supposed to be dominant at a small flow rate. The generation fluxes of water increased with the increasing degree of tube wall superheat. Nucleate boiling is supposed to occur at a wall superheat of 20 K for a smooth tube, and at 10 K for a knurled tube. The heat transfer performance of the falling film was superior to pool boiling at a low wall superheat below 10 K for both tubes tested. The knurled tube geometry showed good performance than the smooth tube, and the increased performance was mainly came from the effect of the increased heating surface area.

Coolant Material Effect on the Heat Transfer Rates of the Molten Metal Pool with Solidification

  • Experimental studies on heat transfer and solidification of the molten metal pool with overlying coolant with boiling were performed The simulant molten pool material is tin (Sn) with the melting temperature of 232$^{\circ}C$. Demineralized water and R113 are used as the working coolant. This work examines the crust formation and the heat transfer characteristics of the molten metal pool immersed in the boiling coolant. The Nusselt number and the Rayleigh number in the molten metal Pool region of this study are compared between the water coolant case and the R113 coolant case. The experimental results or the water coolant are higher than those for R113. Also, the empirical relationship of the Nusselt number and the Rayleigh number is compared with the literature correlations measure from mercury. The present experimental results are higher than the literature correlations. It is believed that this discrepancy is caused by the effect of heat loss to the environment on the natural convection heat transfer in the molten pool.

  • Folk Remedies symbolize the medical art of the common people, and contain their special emotion and colloquial expressions. They are medical treatments in which the medical history and the tradition and the soul of a people are incorporated. They are handed down in various ways. This study introduces some of folk remedies. For example, powder of tigers' bones heals neuralgia. Rice wine brewing up with ginger is effective in a cold. Water boiling with safflower does good in neuralgia. Pasting herba houttuyniae takes effect in skin disease. To Decoct and drink old hardy orange is effective in urticaria. Water boiling with fructus corni alleviates a fever. Camellia oil or rhizoma cnidii or iris is used for the extermination of vermin and the antiseptic. In the end, the practical application of these remedies to the resources of industry and education will be discussed.
