The progress of environmental science and technology in the developed countries has been rapid in recent years. Particularly remarkable has been the advancement of various pollutant control measures, which have brought the pollution of inorganic factors such as air and water under control. In contrast, diversity of the ecosphere, of which man is a part, is being steadily Impoverished and the biological community is getting unvaryingly uniform. These phenomena were brought about by the expansion of artificial environment such as new industrial complexes, transportation facilities and urban development. Man has constructed uniform and artificial environment, believing in the premise of confrontation with nature, to such a scale that the natural environment and biological community have lost their balance. This will increasingly endanger the soundness of the biotic environment of nature, which constitutes the potential foundation both for the survival environment of man as biological entity and for the development of human civilization. In order to guarantee the soundness of man's body, intelligence and sensitivity as wholesome gene Pool on the earth and for the future of man, primarily important environmental education is the understanding of how man can everlasting exist in and with the survival environment. In view of this reality, it is vitally important to create ecologically diverse and well-balanced environment with living materials, i.e., vegetation in order to secure lasting survival environment for man. This task is urgently required in highly artificial environment where non-biological materials have forced the impoverishment of the biological community. Therefore, environmental education for the future should not be totally oriented to technology as that in the past nor it is limited to the medical aspect where well-being of human is the sole object of concern. That is to say, environmental education for the future should be one that provides knowledge that human can understand his place based on the ecological concept and thereby make him to have ethical consciousness that he can control his behavior within the reasonable level for ecological niche who he is located.

The purpose of this study was to analyze middle school students' consumption lifestyle and develop a program for measuring Ecological Footprint (EF) for them. For this study, 200 male and female middle school students in large cities, medium & small cities were selected to analyze their consumption lifestyle. It was also that the existing programs for measuring EF were studied and basic rules of setting up new EF indicators were established based on the results of survey and literature study. 15 indexes was selected by dividing the life areas into food, housing, traffic, goods and services areas and than the delpi computer programming tools was used to develop program for measuring EF in this study. The program for measuring EF can be used as educational materials for consumers' environment education in the areas of social environment education and school environment education. The followings are suggestions coming out of this study. First, it is required to revise and complement program for measuring EF analyzing the problems that occur when applying it to middle school students actually. Second, some data that used during normalization of EF ate originally from the USA. So it is necessary to change the data to meet the Korean situation. Third, it is necessary to have design work that can invite interests of students with consumers' environmental education materials through cooperation between environmental education experts and computer programmers. Fourth, it is necessary to have practical research with consumers' environmental education adding educational contents into EF measurement program. Fifth, it is necessary to develop a method for distribution an expansion of the program for measuring EF to make it usable in different types of environmental education materials.

The purpose of this study was to explore factors that physical education graduate students in graduate school of education drop out of teacher appointment examination of secondary school by using Ecological Model. The in-depth interview was conducted for 10 physical education graduate students studying in school of education. As an aspect of the intrapersonal component, the effort to apply how participants'current job positively affects their preparation for teacher appointment examination is required and they need to clearly decide academic priorities to prepare for teacher appointment examination. As an aspect of interpersonal component, participants are negatively affected by subjective norm, thereby providing personalized mentoring program is required. As an aspect of organizational component, limited tuition support and inappropriate place to study are emphasized, so practical helps like sports practice instructor or teacher appointment examination preparation class is required. Finally, this study suggests the introduction of integrated system for teacher appointment examination.

This study purports to review and discuss the evolution of Physical Education in terms of ecological viewpoint. To achieve this purpose, this study try to look for the meanings through the 2007 revised physical education curriculum. The reason that I look for the meanings from the curriculum is because the curriculum includes objectives, values and philosophical backgrounds in Physical Education. Through this study, I found the following results. Governmental active supports to reinforce roles of in-service teachers should be emphasized. Second, teacher should focus on Game strategies for Physical Education. Third, mental function for activities in Physical Education should be considered as an intelligence as one of H. Gardner's multiple intelligences rather than they are just accepted as the level of functions or a motor nerves. Fourth, Physical Education for 11 and 12 grades should be accepted as a requirement to maintain Physical Education. classes in high school as a normalization process.

This paper reviews the relationships between diverse ecological design strategies and competing conceptions of ecological approach in place making. It focuses conceptual trends of what we categorize a building "green" and outlines a social constructive perspective on the development of sustainable architecture. This study classifies seven logics of ecological design-eco-technical, eco-aesthetical, eco-social, eco-medical, eco-renewable, eco-cultural, eco-central - which have their roots in competing philosophies of environmentalism. In my analysis of the logics concerning sustainable architecture, the adapted and incorporated technology from high-tech to low-tech levels is a key issue. These points lead us to propose a way that each logic configures the technological approaches and alternative visions of sustainable places. This paper discusses the implications of the competent nature of plural ecological design perspectives for architectural education, practice, and researches.

This is a study on how to create an ecological arboretum that would promote biodiversity by creating wild animal habitats in terms of using large-scale remnants in urban areas and that would serve as a field for environment education based on its locational feature of being an urban area and its accessibility. This study is significant in a sense that this is the first arboretum to be created in urban area. However, it has a couple of limitations and they are as follows. First, since an arboretum creation plan is a mid/long-term plan, it is difficult to verify the biodiversity promotion effect of the application of habitats and creation techniques. Second, as the space was created by considering ecological features and utilizing natural prototype, the diversity of forest trees in here is lower than that of a traditional arboretum.

This study analyzed ecological elements of 140 nursery rhymes, stories, and plays in the $6^{th}$ edition of the Guide for Educational Activities and Materials for Kindergarten. The results show that 24 works(17.1%) have ecological elements. Content analysis of ecological elements in these works show works that deal with the side effects of environmental development(3 nursery stories), the cult of nature(1 nursery rhyme), recognition of the eco-cycle(2 nursery rhymes, 4 stories, 2 plays), dignity of life and recovery of human nature(12 nursery stories). On the basis of the results, children's literature containing ecological elements were suggested.

This study was conducted to develop a forest ecological sensitivity scale and verify its reliability and validity to evaluate the effectiveness of forest education programs and assess the forest ecological sensitivity of people. Forest ecological sensitivity was defined through literature research and expert meetings. A total of 106 preliminary questions, which were developed by dividing the factors of each question, were used to conduct a preliminary survey on 256 adults. Based on the survey results, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted, and 19 questions were selected, excluding overlapping items between factors and items not suitable for factor load. This was a nationwide study in which 557 adult individuals participated, and 533 surveys were used for analysis. According to the results of the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the forest ecological sensitivity scale consisted of 10 questions and 3 factors (personal stage, social stage, and integrated stage) and demonstrated good suitability. The forest ecological sensitivity questions developed in this study can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of forest education programs, which can help contribute toward improving the quality of such programs.
