Eco-efficiency Analysis of Urban Agglomeration in the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River

  • Purpose - Urban agglomeration construction is one of national strategic plans to accelerate the development of industrialization and urbanization in China, which has threatened the eco-environmental quality at the same time. This paper selected the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River as the research area. Research design, data, and methodology - The the slack-based measurement (SBM) model considering undesirable outputs is applied to measure the eco-efficiency of this urban agglomerations during 2006-2015. Results - The empirical results show that average eco-efficiency of the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is 0.595. Regional ecological development is unbalanced. The highest eco-efficiency is recorded at Wuhan Metropolitan Area, and the lowest one is at the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group. Energy consumption and waste dust emissions are the key factors led to ecological inefficiency. Based on this, potentials for energy saving and waste dust reducing are calculated. Conclusions - Finally, this study provides policy implications targeted to promote the coordinating development of economy and eco-environment under the construction of urban agglomeration.

  • Removal of water contents in a gas is needed in industrial field of gas processing related on energy production/conversion, and environmental treatment. Inertial separators are economic devices for separating droplets from the gas stream. For design and incorporation of inertial pre-treatment separator, characteristics of removal of water contents with various operation conditions are needed. In this study, removal efficiency of water droplets at various flowrates (5-14 SCMM) and relative humidity (R.H.) conditions (40%, and 90%) has been investigated. At low R.H. condition, the removal characteristic is similar to the removal of solid particles. But, droplet growth resulting from the condensation of water vapor at high R.H. condition, is significant and it made increase in removal efficiency of droplet phase of water contents. For rapid removal of water contents, an effective method to enhancing condensation growth of water droplets is highly needed.

  • Recently eco friendly energy is the most interested field and has been research actively. MCFC is a representative technology of eco friendly energy. Eco friendly energy shouldn't cause environmental problems like noise and vibration because that is the technology to solve environmental problems. The major noise and vibration source of MCFC is blowers. this project designed sound enclosure and isolator as the best way for blowers.

친환경 에너지 절감형 전기온풍기 기구설계 (Electric Fan Heater Design for Eco-Energy Saving)

  • 친환경에너지에 대한 요구가 높아지면서 전기에너지의 사용은 계속 증가하고 있다. 최근 친환경, 에너지 절약을 위해서 유도가열을 이용한 여러 가지 가열방식에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전자유도현상을 이용한 유도가 열방식을 이용하여 보다 친환경적이고 에너지 절약이 가능한 전기온풍기를 설게 제작하였다. 온풍기는 송풍부, 유도가열부 및 전력변환부 등 3부분으로 구성하였다. 유도가열부는 송풍부에 결합되어 송풍부로부터 발생된 바람이 가열되어 분출되며, 전력변환부는 고주파를 인가하여 자속을 발생시킴으로써 유도가열부의 내부를 가열시킨다. 발열방식은 유도가열의 원리를 적용하고, 전력변환효율성을 높이기 위해 공진형 인버터를 사용하였다. 공진형 인버터는 풀브리지 전압형 직렬부하 공진형 인버터를 사용하였다. 유도가열부는 세라믹 계열의 절연체와 SUS40계열의 금속체를 사용했으며, 전력변환부는 정류부, 필터부 및 공진형 인버터부 등으로 구성 하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 전기온풍기는 기존의 전기히터와 가스히터 등과 비교한 결과, 온도 상승속도가 빠르고, 사용에너지 비용이 절감되는 등 경제성도 있음을 보였다. 개발된 전기온풍기는 가정용, 상업용 및 농업용 등 여러 분야에 친환경 에너지절감형 온풍기로의 적용 가능성이 있다.

2단 실린더형 싸이클론의 물 및 오일 액적 제거 성능 분석 연구 (Evaluation of removal performance of a novel two-stage cylinder type cyclone against water and oil droplets)

  • A novel two stage cylindrical cyclone was developed for a 3 phase separator in shale oil production industry. The cyclone performance was compared with a cone type cyclone and multi cyclone at the same experimental condition using water and oil mists generated by a humidifier and atomizer at the flow rate 1 to $2m^3/min$. The removal efficiency of total suspended water droplets by the novel cyclone, calculated using inlet and outlet concentrations measured by an optical particle counter, was 99% which is higher than 90% of oil droplet removal efficiency at $2m^3/min$. It might be due to the evaporation of small water droplets during the tests. The water and oil droplet removal performance of the novel cyclone based on the quality factor which is a function of pressure drop and removal efficiency was the highest among three cyclones. The results indicate that the cyclone could be an economical device to remove water and oil mists from shale gas generation processes where a huge three phase separator is commonly used.

에코센터의 생태건축기술에 관한 연구 - 건축재료와 태양에너지활용시스템을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Eco-Tecnique of EcoCenter - Focused on the Building Material and Solar System -)

  • Ecological architecture enables people to recycle and reuse architectural resources within the category of ecosystem and also to minimize the effect on environment in a whole process, including architectural planning, usage and exhaustion to use sustainable energies. Rammed earth wall construction method utilized in EcoCenter located in Crystalwaters ecological village in Austrailia is a good example, which maximizes its advantages and also covers its limits to use soil and wood as structural resources. In a case of wood, they used non-treated timber to minimize environmental load and utilized used materials in openings. In the roofs, aluminum coated steel which is plated with zinc collects rain effectively even though it is not regenerable. Nontoxic finishes and insulation in floor and ceiling with used papers are able to minimize its environmental load. Solar energy system applied in EcoCenter enables them to market extra energy with electricity companies as well as support needs of its own buildings to utilize photovoltaic panel system with PV panels. Passive solar system is planned effectively in heating and cooling to apply regenerative walls in a use of rammed earth wall construction and natural ventilation systems through openings.

건축물에너지효율등급 평가프로그램에 의한 공동주택 난방에너지 소요량과 실제 사용량 비교 (Comparing the actual heating energy with calculated energy by the amended standard building energy rating system for apartment buildings)

  • Purpose: Since September 1st, 2013, subjects of the evaluation have been expanded, and the evaluation standard has been detailed to enable Building energy rating system for all buildings. Accordingly, the new evaluation program (ECO2) has been developed, and therefore, apartment applied after September 1st, 2013 were evaluated with the new evaluation program. Therefore, this research suggests the improvement plan to figure out reasons for the evaluation result calculation and to calculate the evaluation results close to the actual energy usage by analyzing and comparing primary energy consumption as a result of the new evaluation program (ECO2) and actual heating energy usage on the same building. Method: When comparing evaluation results of the new evaluation program (ECO2) and actual heating energy usage, the tendency was similar but different. Also when comparing seasonally, the tendency was similar, but the different between actual heating energy usage and primary energy consumption during winter is greater than during spring or fall, and when comparing seasonal electric usage, heating alternatives were used through increased electrical usage during winter compared to during spring or fall. Result: Therefore, when evaluating apartment with the new program (ECO2) in the future, evaluation items relevant to the use of heating alternatives should be added, and the modification factor should be added according to the region. Based on the evaluation results of the research and actual energy usage, the Modification factors of the central part and the southern part were calculated respectively as 0.5 and 0.8.

  • New and Renewable eco-friendly energy technique can be to enable rational use of resources, as well as securing economic efficiency. Therefore, most of the public facilities must apply eco-friendly energy systems. In this study was applied the solar light energy system to the construction projects. As a result, the proposed system was implemented various effect such as the power cost savings in public facilities. In addition to, the proposed system was improved functional aspects such as improving space utilization.

  • This study aimed at framing alternative urban planning scenarios reflecting urban planning factors, performing urban climate simulation and evaluating eco-friend and low energy characteristics of each scenario on the viewpoint of urban temperature and energy savings on the target of the costal city including Haeundae District in Busan The results are as follows. 1)The fact that urban higher temperature is approximately 2.5 times higher in the building constructed area than whole urban area was represented severe higher temperature phenomenon in the built-up area. Ground greening, water scenario and soil scenario could be expected peek air temperature alleviating effect in order. Especially water scenario had significant effect(maximum $2.5^{\circ}C$) on lowering of air temperature.
