지진하중을 받는 케이슨 방파제의 변위 특성분석 (Displacement Charateristics of Caisson-Type Breakwater under Earthquake Loadings)

  • Recently, the earthquakes activities are more of frequency occurred in the country. In case of nomal or large magnitude earthquakes, which cause a rising number of life loss or widespread loss of property. It must be considered how to cope with the situperty of dpmage in the country ty account of ay earthquake. Consequently, the public works have currently ensured against a lot of risk about seismism not only on large scale structures but also relatively small structures. Therefore, in this study, in order to make the seismic stability safe, it has been evaluated by the seismic performance for caisson-type breakwater. The seismic response analyses have conducted on the caisson-type breaker under long-period, short-period and artificial seismic wave. The liquefaction potential of the foundation, which is caisson-type, is also estimated by using the simplified assessment method. Finally, the result of the numerical analysis by PENTAGON 2D finite element method(FEM) program are presented for 3 cases with time-history seismic analysis under the seismic load.

터널 안정성 및 환경성을 고려한 위험도 평가기법의 적용 (Application of risk analysis and assessment considering tunnel stability and environmental effects in tunnel design)

  • 터널과 같은 지하구조물의 경우에는 지반의 다양한 변동성과 불확실성으로 인하여 터널 시공단계에서의 위험이 계속적으로 종가하고 있으므로, 터널 설계단계에서 터널 안정성 및 환경성에 영향을 주는 위험요소에 대한 위험도 평가 및 관리가 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 터널굴착으로 인한 안정성에 대한 위험도 분석을 지반자체의 지보능력, 지반침하에 의한 인접구조물 손상, 막장내 지하수 유입량, 지진영향 등의 요소로 구분하여 평가하였다. 또한 환경성에 대한 위험도 분석을 발파로 인한 소음 진동, 운영중 열차운행으로 인한 소음 진동, 지하수위 저하로 인한 환경영향 등으로 평가하였다. 이와 같은 위험요소들에 대하여 위험도를 정량적으로 평가하고 터널 전구간에 걸친 위험도의 분포특성을 파악하였다. 또한 다양한 확률론적 기법과 통계자료를 사용하여 각각의 위험도에 대한 비용(cost)을 분석하므로서 위험도가 터널공사에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 그리고 본 위험도 평가기법을 터널설계단계에서 적용하므로서 기존의 방법을 보완할 수 있는 보다 합리적인 위험도 평가방법으로서의 유용성을 검토하였다.

우리나라 병원건축물의 내진성능향상을 위한 기초연구 (Preliminary Study on the Enhancement of Seismic Performance of Korea Hospital Buildings)

  • Secure operation of hospitals during and right after earthquake is essential. Past lessons from earthquake damages have shown that most of the injured and the death occurred within 30 minutes after earthquake and the portion of nonstructural damage has become significant. However, hospital buildings in Korea have not prepared fully to address such rising issues. This paper is to study what type of damage patterns are related to hospital buildings and how to develop a preparedness plan to keep hospitals operational at all earthquakes if possible. This paper first reviews on past earthquake damages reported as critical to hospital buildings while classifying them into four groups: (1) structural element; (2) architectural-nostructural element; (3) medical equipments and contents; and (4) utility facility. Upon such classification, some detailed concerns can be specified under each group explicitly. Then a hierarchy for hospital building is also developed for the classified groups, which enables us to identify required things for the enhancement of seismic performance of hospital building that consists of heterogeneous elements. To upgrade the level of seismic performance for existing hospital buildings, the concept of performance-based approach can be adopted to address the heterogeneous problems in a systematic and stepwise manner. Finally a conceptual framework for the seismic risk assessment for hospital building is proposed toward the seismic enhancement of hospital buildings using performance-based approach.

모드기여도를 고려한 복수모드구조물의 지진취약도분석 (Seismic Fragility Analysis of Multi-Modes Structures Considering Modal Contribution Factor)

  • 이 연구는 원자력발전소 구조물의 확률론적 내진성능을 평가하는 수단으로 이용되고 있는 지진취약도분석 기법에 대하여 소개하고, 지진취약도분석에 입력자료로 제공되는 기본변수의 특성에 대하여 논의하였다. 특히, 지진취약도 분석결과에 지대한 영향을 미칠 수 있는 입력변수의 하나인 응답스펙트럼형태계수의 정의 방법을 개선하였다. 새로운 응답스펙트럼형태계수는 구조물의 고유진동모드별 기여도가 전체 구조응답에 미치는 영향을 고려할 수 있도록 모드별 기여도를 이용하여 표현하였다. 대표적인 원자력발전소 구조물을 대상으로 예제분석을 수행하고, 제안된 응답스펙트럼형태계수의 유용성 및 적용성을 검증하였다. 특히, 이 논문의 방법은 복합모드감쇠특성을 갖는 구조물의 경우에도 효과적으로 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

빅데이터 기반 재난 재해 위험도 분석 프레임워크 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Big Data Analytics Framework for Disaster Risk Assessment)

  • 본 연구는 재난 재해 시 해당 지역의 취약성 및 재해 위험성분석을 보다 세밀하고 광범위한 분석을 진행하기 위하여 빅데이터 기반 재난 재해 위험도 분석 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 오픈소스 기반 재해 위험도 평가 분석 소프트웨어를 활용하여 대용량의 데이터가 단 시간 내에 처리될 수 있도록 분산 및 병렬처리가 가능한 프레임 워크를 소개한다. 제안하는 시스템의 재난재해 분석 성능평가 시 기존 시스템에 비해 빠른 분석 처리 성능 결과를 도출하였으며 재난 재해 상황 분석 및 재난 유형별 최적화된 의사결정을 지원하는데 주요 프레임워크로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구를 통해 재난 재해 상황 시 정확한 판단과 분석과 효과적인 대응을 통한 사전대비가 가능할 것이며, 정확한 피해 산정 예측에 따른 신속한 대응이 가능하여 피해 규모를 최소화시키는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

The high accurate monitoring technique of land deformation by using satellite image - PSInSAR -

  • Remote sensing can provide invisible information in addition to acquire wide-view image data from space. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) transmits microwave to the earth from a satellite and collects the reflected echo from the surface. Interferometric processing of SAR data can detect the subtle land deformation. The information of the surface movement by SAR is useful to monitor the volcanic activity, extended subsidence of urbanized area and the prediction of the earthquake caused by crustal deformation, and it complements the conventional levelling and GPS technique. PSInSAR (Permanent Scatterers Interferometric SAR) is one of interferometric techniques to be applied to practical projects in Japan. In this paper, the projects of land deformation monitoring are shown after the explanations of the PSInSAR principle. Tokai earthquake risk assessment is the first example. PSInSAR detects the subduction of crustal deformation of the adjacent area of new assumed epicenter region of the Tokai Earthquake. The extended subsidence of the urbanized area was implemented by using Japanese satellite data i.e. JERS that has so much data the surrounding of Japan as the archive. We examine the relationship between the geological structure and settlement at Nohbi basin including Nagoya city.

Post earthquake performance monitoring of a typical highway overpass bridge

  • Bridges form crucial links in the transportation network especially in high seismic risk regions. This research aims to provide a quantitative methodology for post-earthquake performance evaluation of the bridges. The experimental portion of the research involved shake table tests of a 4-span bridge which was subjected to progressively increasing amplitudes of seismic motions recorded from the Northridge earthquake. As part of this project, a high resolution long gauge fiber optic displacement sensor was developed for post-seismic evaluation of damage in the columns of the bridge. The nonlinear finite element model was developed using Opensees program to simulate the response of the bridge and the abutments to the seismic loads. The model was modified to predict the bent displacements of the bridge commensurate with the measured bent displacements obtained from experimental analysis results. Following seismic events, the tangential stiffness matrix of the whole structure is reduced due to reduction in structural strength. The nonlinear static push over analysis using current damaged stiffness matrix provides the longitudinal and transverse ultimate capacities of the bridge. Capacity loss in the transverse and longitudinal directions following the seismic events was correlated to the maximum displacements of the deck recorded during the events.

연약지반상 지진하중을 고려한 철도노반의 안정성 검토에 관한 연구 (A study on the Stability of Rail way Construction on the Reclaimed Land for Domestic Marine Clay Using the Seismic Analysic)

  • The purpose. in this study. is to analyze liquefaction potential of Inchon International Airport at the Area Phase ' I ' for Railway Construction of all, seismic response was analyzed using the computer program, Shake91. Four methods proposed by Seed & Idriss. Eurocode, Iwasaki & Tatsuoka. and Ishihara were used for assessment of liquefaction potential and safety factors calculated form these methods are compared. Based on the results of seismic response analysis, the maximum acceleration at the ground surface is larger than that evaluated site factor effect by using site factor because these areas are composed of very loose sand clay. Especially, in the case of analysis with long period earthquake data. it is appeared that the acceleration of earthquake is amplified more largely. Therefore, accurate seismic response analysis is suggested for the design on the important structures on reclaimed land. The analytical results of liquefaction potential show that the increments of N-value and effective overburden pressure with remediation make safety factors increase. Through comparing the safety factors evaluated from four method, the safety factor calculated by See & Idriss method in the lowest one and it is found that the SPT N-value effect the safety factor very largely. And, Iwasaki & Tatsuoka method is affected by various factors such as average grain size. fine contents, confining pressure. In conclusion. to minimize earthquake Risk by liquefaction, the efficient remediation is essential and seismic response analysis should be carride out.

Safety analysis of nuclear containment vessels subjected to strong earthquakes and subsequent tsunamis

  • Nuclear power plants under expansion and under construction in China are mostly located in coastal areas, which means they are at risk of suffering strong earthquakes and subsequent tsunamis. This paper presents a safety analysis for a new reinforced concrete containment vessel in such events. A finite element method-based model was built, verified, and first used to understand the seismic performance of the containment vessel under earthquakes with increased intensities. Then, the model was used to assess the safety performance of the containment vessel subject to an earthquake with peak ground acceleration (PGA) of 0.56g and subsequent tsunamis with increased inundation depths, similar to the 2011 Great East earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Results indicated that the containment vessel reached Limit State I (concrete cracking) and Limit State II (concrete crushing) when the PGAs were in a range of 0.8-1.1g and 1.2-1.7g, respectively. The containment vessel reached Limit State I with a tsunami inundation depth of 10 m after suffering an earthquake with a PGA of 0.56g. A site-specific hazard assessment was conducted to consider the likelihood of tsunami sources.

지반 보간을 위한 지반정보DB 구축 방법에 따른 액상화 평가 결과 비교 (Comparison of Liquefaction Assessment Results with regard to Geotechnical Information DB Construction Method for Geostatistical Analyses)

  • 지진으로부터 상대적으로 안전지대라고 여겨졌던 한반도에서 2017년 규모 5.4의 강진이 포항지역에 발생함으로써 액상화 현상이 민가, 농지에서 광범위하게 나타났고 이에 액상화 현상을 예측하는 액상화 재해도 작성에 관한 연구수요가 높아지고 있다. 액상화 현상이란 느슨한 사질토에서 지진과 같은 큰 동적응력이 짧은 시간 작용할 때 과잉간극수압의 급격한 증가로 지반의 강도가 완전히 상실되는 현상을 의미한다. 액상화는 액상화 가능지수(liquefaction potential index, LPI)를 통해 평가할 수 있지만 LPI는 단일 시추공 별로 산출되기 때문에 해당지역의 대표성에 대한 문제가 발생하게 된다. 이러한 대표성의 문제는 지리정보시스템(geographic information system, GIS)을 활용한 공간보간을 통해 보완될 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지구통계학적인 공간보간 기법 중 하나인 크리깅(kriging)을 활용하여 지반정보의 대표성 문제를 해결하고자 하였으며 액상화 평가를 위한 지반정보DB를 구축하고자 하였다. 또한 구축된 지반정보DB를 활용하여 재현주기 별 액상화 재해도를 작성하였으며 액상화 재해도 결과는 교차검증을 통하여 정밀도 검증을 수행하였다.
