비 이앙직전 carbofuran 토양혼화처리의 본논초기 발생해충 방제효과 및 비래성 해충인 벼멸구에 대한 약효지속효과를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 포장에서 5월 하순 이앙직전 carbofuran 토양혼화처리는 6월 중순 carfuran 수면시용처리나 diazinon (3G) +BPMC (50% EC) 2회처리보다 본논초기 발생해충인 애멸구, 끝동매미충, 이화명나방 1화기에 대한 방제효과가 우수하였다. 폿트에서 carfuran 토양혼화처리의 벼멸구 암컷성충에 대한 직접살충효과는 약처리 1개월후에 50%정도로 떨어졌으나 그의 차세대에 대한 밀도억제효과는 약처리 37일후까지 90%이상, 46일후에도 70%정도를 유지하였다. 따라서 이상의 결과로부터 이앙직전 carfuran 토양혼화처리는 본논초기 발생해충 전반에 대한 효과적인 방제수단이 될 수 있으며 6월중 비래하는 벼멸구에 대해서 90%이상 그리고 7월 초순에 비래하는 벼멸구에 대해서도 어느정도의 밀도 억제효과를 발휘할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Although the survival rate of hematologic malignancies in young patients is very high, cytotoxic therapies such as chemotherapy and total body irradiation therapy can significantly reduce a patient's reproductive capacity and cause irreversible infertility. Early ovarian failure also commonly occurs following additional cancer treatment, bone marrow transplantation, or autologous transplantation. Because the risk of early ovarian failure depends on the patient's circumstances, patients with a hematologic malignancy must consult health professionals regarding fertility preservation before undergoing treatments that can potentially damage their ovaries. While it is widely known that early menopause commonly occurs following breast cancer treatment, there is a lack of reliable study results regarding fertility preservation during hematologic malignancy treatment. Therefore, an in-depth discussion between patients and health professionals about the pros and cons of the various options for fertility preservation is necessary. In this study, we review germ cell toxicity, which occurs during the treatment of hematologic malignancies, and propose guidelines for fertility preservation in younger patients with hematologic malignancies.

Epidermal growth factor (EGF) activates many intracellular effector molecules, which subsequently influence the expression levels of many genes involved in cell growth, apoptosis and signal transduction, etc. In this study, the early response of gene expressions due to EGF treatment was monitored using oligonucleotide DNA microarrays in rat schwannoma cell lines. An immunoblotting experiment showed the successful activation of EGF receptors and an effector protein, STAT5, due to EGF treatment. The microarray study showed that 35 genes were significantly induced and 2 were repressed within 60 min after the treatment. The list of induced genes included early growth response 1, suppressor of cytokine signaling 3, c-fos, interferon regulatory factor 1 and early growth response 2, etc. According to the microarray data, six of these were induced by more than 10-fold, and showed at least two different induction patterns, indicating complicated regulatory mechanisms in the EGF signal transduction.

방광요관역류(5등급)가 동반된 요로감염영아(4개월)에서 발열 초기(15시간)에 민감한 항생제로 치료하였음에도 불구하고 신농양으로 진행되었고 장기 항생제 치료(6주)와 초음파 감시하 세침 흡인으로 경도의 신반흔을 남기고 호전된 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다.

Alveolar soft part sarcoma, named by Christopherson in 1952, is a very rare soft tissue sarcoma. It reportedly accounts for 0.5 to 1.0% of all soft tissue sarcoma and no established treatment principle assists it. The relative lack of symptoms makes it easily overlooked and consequently early diagnosis is frequently impossible. Often, the metastasis to the lung or the brain is the first manifestation of the disease. In some cases wide excision is not performed because it is misdiagnosed as a benign tumor. Authors experienced 7 cases of alveolar soft part sarcoma in 20 years and found the ultimate prognosis grave and the treatment not promising. Therefore, the authors recommend the following; 1. Early diagnosis and early treatment are important for successful management of alveolar soft part sarcoma. 2. Preoperative incisional biopsy is necessary for pathologic diagnosis. 3. The recommended treatment modality is a combination of wide excision, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Objectives : This study was to investigate the efficacy of Scolopendrid pharmacopuncture on relieving postauricular pain which was an early symptom of Bell's palsy. Methods : Clinical observation was done on 32 patients diagnosed with Bell's palsy in Cheon-ahn Oriental Medical Hospital of Daejeon University from November 11, 2011 to August 31, 2012. The patients were divided into 2 groups; group A received conventional treatment alone and group B received conventional treatment as well as Scolopendrid pharmacopuncture treatment. Results : 1. Scolopendrid pharmacopuncture group(group B) exhibited significantly reduced postauricular pain compared to conventional treatment group(group A). 2. Group B had significantly shorter duration of postauricular pain than group A. 3. Group B group showed better outcome than the group A but the difference was not significant. Conclusions : Scolopendrid pharmacopuncture shows a significant beneficial effect on postauricular pain as an early symptom of Bell's palsy.

A process diagnosis method for membrane water treatment plant was developed using a constant flux membrane fouling model. This diagnosis method can be applied to a real-field membrane-based water treatment plant as an early alarming system for membrane fouling. The constant flux membrane fouling model was based on the simplest equation form to describe change in trans-membrane pressure (TMP) during the filtration cycle from a literature. The model was verified using a pilot-scale microfiltraton (MF) plant with two commercial MF membrane modules (72 m2 of membrane area). The predicted TMP data were produced using the model, where the modeling parameters were obtained by the least square method using the early plant data and modeling equations. The diagnosis was carried out by comparing the predicted TMP data (as baseline) and real plant data. As a result of the case study, the diagnsis method worked pretty well to predict the early points where fouling started to occur.

Urodeles including newt and salamander have remarkable regenerative capacity during the postembryonic life span. Some of the unique features are the formation of the well-developed wound epidermis and the active dedifferentiation process in the early phase of regeneration. These are regarded as key events for the successful regeneration since no further regenerative activity is possible without them. In this study, we investigated the role of retinoic acid (RA) in salamander limb regeneration by blocking RA synthesis using disulfiram, an inhibitor of aldehyde dehydrogenase that oxidizes retinal to RA. Disulfiram treatment resulted in delaying the limb regeneration processes via inhibition of wound epidermis formation and dedifferentiation process. When RA was administered after disulfiram treatment, the inhibitory effect of disulfiram was rescued. In addition, disulfiram treatment after the dedifferentiation stage resulted in the mild retardation of limb regeneration, suggesting that RA might also be involved in the blastema outgrowth. Furthermore, salamander MMP-9 gene expression was also inhibited by disulfiram treatment. Collectively, our findings indicate that endogenous RA may play an important role(s) in the early phase of limb regeneration by regulating the expression of molecules responsible for the modification of intracellular and extracellular environment during salamander limb regeneration.

Primary cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (PCMZL) is an uncommon type of malignant lymphoma that mainly occurs in the trunk and upper extremity, with less frequent incidence observed on the head. Herein, we report the early diagnosis and treatment of a rare case of facial PCMZL in an Asian patient. A 51-year-old man presented with masses on the forehead and nose tip, which he had incidentally discovered 2 months previously. The masses appeared as a papule on the forehead and a patch on the nose. There were no signs of infection or bleeding, and the patient reported no other symptoms. After complete surgical excision, PCMZL was diagnosed based on the permanent biopsy. The histopathological findings revealed lymphoid aggregations with multifocal granulomas. Further treatment and follow-up were conducted at the hematology and oncology department. Despite its rarity in Asian populations, cutaneous lymphoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of facial masses. Early diagnosis and treatment based on a physical examination, imaging study, and excisional biopsy are important for a favorable prognosis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of chuna treatment(manipulation) on lumbar sprain caused by traffic accident in early stage, by analysis of the Heart Rate Variability(HRV) and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). Methods : This study carried out on 20 patients who have received hospital treatment in Daejeon Univ. cheonan Oriental Hospital. Non-chuna group got acupuncture-therapy, herbal medication, physical therapy and Chuna group got all the therapies and chuna treatment. We measured HRV and VAS on 2nd, 4th day. Results : After being treated by our methods, Chuna group showed the inclination to balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve. In chuna group as compared with non-chuna group, an autonomic nerve activity and stress resistance showed the inclination to increase(p<0.05). And chuna treatment reduced the rate of stress increase. Conclusions : The results suggest that chuna treatment help traffic accident patients in early stage to reduce pain. Refer to autonomic nerve system, chuna treatment seem to do positive effect but Further long term study in a large scale is needed.
