Recently, electronic-book (e-book) market is growing rapidly due to the evolution of information technology and e-book standard EPUB. Users can search e-book on-line and download easily to their e-book readers such as amazon's kindle or smartphones. On the other hand, there is lack of e-book contents for the reading disabled people because of high cost of making e-book accessibility for the reading disabled people. If we can translate EPUB specified e-book contents to the alternative e-book contents suitable for the reading disabled people, then there are many advantages to acquire various types and large volumes of e-book contents for the reading disabled people. This paper suggests a new electronic publishing ecosystem for the reading disabled people using e-book translation method. It also suggests a promotion strategy of e-book market for the reading disabled people.

This study aims to propose using English reading strategies to enhance Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) for EFL learners. The study recruited college-level participants who were enrolled in a general English reading course (N=30) and administrated the surveys with a Repeated Measures Design (RMD). In the survey, an intercultural sensitivity scale and metacognitive reading strategies inventory were conducted for comparison. During the instruction, participants were asked to use the R.I.D.E.R. (i.e. Read, Image, Describe, Evaluate, and Repeat) strategy for visualization of text, which is aimed at facilitating the use of metacognitive reading strategies. In the results, participants showed a statistically significant increase both in the intercultural sensitivity level and the use of metacognitive reading strategies after the practice of R.I.D.E.R for one semester. Further analysis was appended to the results by the correlation and regression analysis, and proposed that participants benefit their development of intercultural sensitivity from the use of metacognitive reading strategies. Therefore, the study suggests that implementing metacognitive reading strategies facilitates college EFL readers to increase their cultural sensitivity, which empowers ICC through English reading (176words).

The purpose of this study is to identify reading effect of e-book versus printed book. For this purpose, 8 elementary school students participated in the reading project. The participants of this project read 'A'(printed book) and 'B'(e-book) literary works and were tested reading comprehension. According to conclusion of the study, there is no difference between printed book and e-book on reading effect. It is expected that this result can be used for e-library management and reading education.

As the eBook market grows fast recently, various eBook viewer solutions such as hardware viewers and software readers came out to the market. We can, however, hardly find mobile eBook interfaces for the reading disabled people who have difficulties in reading for their visual impairment or learning disabilities, or dyslexia. An eBook viewer interfaces for the reading disabled people should be carefully and distinctively designed because the reading disabled people cannot use normal versions of eBook viewer. In this paper, we suggest a eBook viewer interface model to make the reading disabled people read eBooks easily. Depending on the type of the reading disabled people: the full blind, the almost blind, the just learning disabled, our model provides an adaptive interface to make them read eBooks effectively. In addition, unlike the existing simple audio books, we also support annotation systems to make the reading disabled people interact with eBook viewer. To show the effectiveness of our model, we implemented an eBook viewer prototype on an android-based mobile device. We are sure that our model and implementation can make the reading disabled people, who is 10% of all the domestic people, read eBooks effectively.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between reading attitude, reading amount, and personality type of college students, and to prepare a plan to improve the reading rate. As a result of the study, Reading attitudes have been shown to affect reading volume, paper book reading amount, personal reading amount, and e-book reading amount. In the personality type, openness has had a positive impact on reading and reading attitudes. On the other hand, the attention was negatively affecting the reading amount and the reading attitude, except for the amount of e-book reading. The implications derived from this are as follows. First, college students need a library environment and a library environment that can read books that can read books. Second, in order to increase the reading amount of extraversion, it is necessary to conduct dynamic reading activities in the center of the activity and conduct a local reading club activity linked to community activities.

The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of the e-book composition provided by the Comprehensive Reading Education Support System and to propose a service improvement plan related to the establishment of e-books in school libraries as educational resources based on practical issues and perceptions experienced by teacher-librarians. As a research method, the composition of the collection of 3,002 e-books supported by the Busan Comprehensive Reading Education Support System as a reading education platform of the school library was analyzed based on the Korean Decimal Classification. Based on this, two focus group interviews (FGI) were conducted with 4 elementary teacher-librarians and 5 secondary teacher-librarians working in Busan. The result of this study can be used as basic data to support students' reading activities using e-books as educational resources and to form an efficient e-book collection in school library.

This paper mainly aims to investigate how differently choral speech and altered auditory feedback (i.e., delayed auditory feedback, frequency-altered feedback) enhance speech fluency during sentence reading. To do this, a stuttering reduction rate was used and measured how much stuttering in frequency was reduced during each of the fluency enhancing conditions (i.e, typical choral reading, DAF, FAF) relative to typical solo reading. The results showed that stuttering frequency was reduced in the three fluency enhancing conditions and the highest mean value in stuttering reduction rate was observed during typical choral reading. Some discussion was provided in relation to the stuttering reduction rate observed during typical choral reading and its further speculation.

The DAISY, an international digital talking book standard, has been established to help reading-disabled people read books normally. As many societies' interests in reading-disabled people are arising, reading environment for them is also getting improved by supplying alternative books. In the digital world, however, there is still lack of e-book playing software for them. In this paper, we design and partially implement an android smartphone e-book viewer. By analyzing the features and relations of DAISY3 files, we can find several important design points to properly implement DAISY3 viewer. We are sure, when using our results, that various DAISY3-compliant e-book viewers can be implemented easily and quickly.

BiNem$^{(R)}$ displays have entered volume manufacturing in 2009. Applications range from e-labels to e-readers. We have developed 6-inch $960{\times}720$ pixels passive matrix BiNem prototypes achieving 40 % brightness and fluid user interface based on partial image / dynamic pointer addressing. Active-matrix addressing is proposed to provide even faster operation.

The purpose of this study is to change the perspective of reading culture promotion and future-oriented through analysis of readers' reading behavior that evolved by changing reading media such as e-books and various media, providing access to reading in 5G-enabled daily life, and communicating in various ways. The task of promoting reading culture was presented as follows. (1) Accurate research on readers and non-readers should be conducted. (2) In addition to accurate recognition of reading media, a multi-faceted model for reading behavior should be prepared. (3) It is necessary to quickly understand the trend of readers' reading behavior. (4) Finally, it is urgent to develop 'reading' related applications in the public domain.
