최근 e-book이나 e-newspaper가 새로운 기록 매체로서 많은 주목을 받고 있으며 기존의 책이나 신문을 대체할 가능성도 게시되고 있다. 이러한 e-book 등은 새로운 휴대 정보통신기기로서도 새로운 시장을 창출할 것으로 기대되고 있다. e-book이나 e-newspaper에 사용되는 디스플레이는 기존의 TFT-LCD, AMOLED와는 다소 다르게 오랜 시간동안 내용을 읽더라도 눈의 피로도를 현저히 줄어야하기 때문에 e-paper라는 새로운 디스플레이가 제시되고 있다. 본 tutorial에서는 e-paper의 개념과 종류, 동작 원리, 응용 분야 등을 살펴보고 새롭게 개발되고 있는 e-paper 기술과 응용 제품들을 소개할 것이다. 또한 e-paper와 기존의 TFT-LCD, AMOLED와 비교 분석하여 e-paper의 한계와 가능성에 대해서도 토의할 것이다.

Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate the difference of legibility between e-book and paper-book by using eye-tracker. Background: Despite of many researches on the e-book and paper-book, there are few researches on the difference between e-book and paper-book. In addition, the researches on the e-book were only dependent on the e-book reader. This study focused on the comparison of e-book and paper-book controlled with the same environments. Method: This study was conducted with $2{\times}3$ within-subject design. Independent variables include the types of book (e-book, paper-book) and font sizes (8pt, 10pt, 12pt). Dependent variables are four measures of fixation duration, saccade length, blink rate and subjective discomfort. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with repeated measured design was used to investigate the main and interaction effects of independent variables on each of the dependent variables. The multiple comparisons were performed by post hoc analysis and Bonferroni correction was applied. Results: Fixation duration at e-book was longer than paper-book (p<0.01). Saccade length at e-book was shorter than paper-book (p<0.05). Blink rate at e-book was higher than paper-book (p<0.1). Subjective discomfort at e-book was higher than paper-book (p<0.1). Legibility at 8pt was better than 10pt, 12pt (p<0.01) in fixation duration, saccade length and subjective discomfort. Conclusion: It was found that the legibility at e-book are worse than paper-book from this study. These results indicated that the legibility of e-book was needed to be validated and improved to replace the paper-book. Application: This study suggests improving something related to fixation duration, saccade length, blink rate and subjective discomfort for betterment of e-book.

Electronic book(E-book) is a digitalized content which provides online service and digitalized text-based information that has been distributed in the form of Paper-book. E-book has been attracting people's attention in earnest since the Steven King's novel, 'Riding the Bullet' was published as a form of E-book in 2000. Since then, customers have paid attention to E-book, and the scale of E-book market has been growing sharply in Europe, China, Japan and Korea as well as the US. The purpose of this study is for actual analysis how Paper-book and E-book market compete with each other and expand into the world publication market. The relationship between Paper-book and E-book is modeled by the Lotka-Volterra Model designed for competitive relationships and estimate spreading curves. Also, competition patterns between Paper-book and E-book are analyzed by estimating coefficient of curve expression. This study shows the change of customers' demand which has been created since E-book was introduced to the publication market.

It is said that first year of e-Paper was 2004, when "sigma-Book" (LCD) by Panasonic and e-Book "Librie" (EPD) by Sony were introduced in the market. After that, many prototypes of e-Paper have followed in 2005. And also the related technologies have been evolved. I summarize the present status of e-Paper technologies and then propose the future trend.

The demand of reflective display devices are increasing by widespread of electronic books. In this study, the emotional and reading state for reading material of paper books, reflective display, and LCD display were compared to each other. In order to determine the consumers' sensibility of E-ink e-book the emotional assessment of three different types of books was evaluated following with readability assessment and preference experiment. These experiments controlled contents on the screen by using masks to hide hardware aspects of contents. The results of the sensibility reactions by emotional-vocabulary-experiment using semantic scale show that E-ink is closer to paper than LCD. The readability and preference questionnaire for the experimental results show that e-ink is preferred than LCD and paper was preferred or seem similar to E-ink. The conclusions shows that E-ink and paper has similar sensibility and E-ink e-book is expected to replace paper books.

Port e-Transformation would employ new technologies such as CRM, SCM, ERP to all the port facilities and improve the efficiency of management for ports. In this paper, firstly, we analyze classification organization of Port e-Transformation technology. Secondly, understand the current situation on each component of Port e-Transformation. Thirdly, present tasks for each component of it. Finally, propose problems and its solving methods for these tasks. However, rationalization of management for internal structure occurred during process of Port e-Transformation and new adjustment of laws related to port are not included in this paper.

We propose EPD(Electrophoretic Display) file generation system based on template that enable users to choose contents layout for E-paper display. And also we show implementation results that apply the proposed system in digital doorsign management field adopting E-paper display. Template includes information for contents layout which is composed of standard form image to be used as background image, coordinates of area for dynamic data to be inserted, data source about dynamic data, and characteristic data of EPD panel for displaying contents. System administrator registers templates in Forms Server. When user chooses a contents layout, Forms Server automatically generates EPD file for displaying contents in E-paper by using information of the template and sends EPD file into doorsign. Strength of the proposed system lies in reflecting user preference about contents design and adding personal data into E-paper contents by smartphone application.

This paper discusses some requirement issues of future global e-trade. Korea has been making lots of efforts on e-trade promotions and many research results support that the performance of e-trade should be increased. There are still many unsolved issues as well as future demands in this area. In this paper, we propose some e-trade requirements for next generation and those are e-trade governance, collaboration enhancement among trading participants, the utilization of e-trade documents repository, the expansion of global e-trade network, and e-trade intelligence just to name a few. For each requirement, we propose some research topics as well as practical implications for improving the performance of global e-trades. One can find some useful thoughts for the future research based on the propositions made by this paper.

With the current evolution from paper to electronic records the documentary credit market has been looking to ICC to provide guidance in this transition. To allow bankers and traders to familiarize themselves with this trend, eUCP has come into force from April 1st 2002. The eUCP provides definitions to allow current UCP terminology to accommodate the presentation of the equivalent of paper documents electronically and to provide necessary rules to allow the UCP and eUCP to work together. It is important to understand that many of the Articles of the UCP are not impacted by the presentation of electronic equivalent of paper documents and do not require any changes to accommodate electronic presentation. When read together the UCP and the eUCP will be broad enough to allow for developing practice in this area. The eUCP is not a revision of the UCP. The UCP will continue to provide the industry with rules for paper letters of credit in conjunction with the eUCP. This study comments that some characteristics of the eUCP have unique properties, such as juncture, envelope, homotheticity functions, and some applicable interpretations including abstraction of letter of credit, notice of completeness, notice of discrepancies and corruption of electronic records.

An electronic receipt (e-receipt) is a receipt issued electronically in place of a traditional paper receipt. This e-receipt, which can be accessed on a smartphone or online, allows for the exchange of goods, refunds, and other services without a paper receipt. The government is focusing on widespread dissemination of e-receipts to realize a society without paper by 2020. Introduction of the e-receipt has begun in mainly large marts and coffee shops, and recently, major franchise convenience stores. As a result, individual customer's transactions are being converted into electronic transactions, and the payment methods are changing to card-based electronic payment services or prepaid electronic payment services. The number of non-paper commercial transactions are also on the increase. In this paper, we try to identify the e-receipt industry ecosystem by analyzing the industries and markets participating in the process of receipt issuance from the perspectives of storage, management and disposal, and to analyze the domestic industrial and social economic effects expected from the spread of electronic receipts.
