A Study on Platform Development for Web 2.0-based e-Learning

  • The new paradigm called the web 2.0 recently appeared in the web environment. We pay attention to the positive effects which may be brought about by application of the web 2.0 to e-learning; we think that it can improve problem solving skills of learners and reinforce their creativity. But until now, e-learning model, which understood the web 2.0 concept completely, has been never developed. In this context, we propose the web 2.0-based e-learning platform which induces all the courses for education such as the selection of topic, preparation of lecture schedule and contents, teaching and learning, to be decided by participants. We believe that this platform can replace or supplement the e-learning of web 1.0 age, and realize the positive effects.

  • 최근 SCORM, Dublin Core등의 국제 표준 메타데이터와 함께, 세계 사실 표준이라 할 수 있는 IMS와 IEEE/LTSC의 LOM이 e-Learning의 특성을 반영한 메타데이터로서 현재 국$\cdot$내외적으로 많은 e-Learning 업체 및 기관에서 활용되고 있다(5). 그러나 LOM에서 정의한 메타데이터는 멀티플랫폼 환경을 고려하지 않고 있고, 제작 및 유통되고 있는 대부분의 e-Learning 콘텐트는 멀티미디어 특성에 대한 메타데이터 요소가 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 , 본 논문에서는 멀티플랫폼 환경에서 e-Learning학습을 지원하기 위해, 메타데이터 및 e-Learning 업체의 Requirement를 조사,분석하고 e-Learning 국제 표준 메타데이터와 플랫폼의 디바이스 특성을 반영하여, 기본적인 PC(Personal Computer) 환경을 포함한 모바일 기기 환경과 디지털TV 환경을 고려한 멀티플랫폼 e-Learning 메타데이터(Multi-platform e-Learning Metadata)를 제안하였다.

이러닝 교수 설계자 인적 자원 유통을 위한 휴먼 클라우드 플랫폼 프레임워크 설계 (A Design of Human Cloud Platform Framework for Human Resources Distribution of e-Learning Instructional Designer)

  • Purpose - In the 21st century, as information technology advances alongside the emergence of the 4th generation, industrial age, industrial environment has become individualized and customized. It is important to hire good quality employees for good service in the industry. The e-learning market is growing every year. Although e-learning companies are finding better quality employees in e-learning, it is not easy to find it. Companies also spend a lot of time and cost to find employee. On the employees side, they want to get a job freely when they want, but they cannot find their job easily. Furthermore, the labor market environment is changing fast. In the 4th generation, industrial age, employers require to find manpower whenever they need and want at little cost. So of their own accord, we have considered the necessity of management of human resources for employees and employers in e-learning. The purpose of this study is to propose a human cloud platform framework for enabling an efficient management of human resources in e-learning industry. Research design, data, and methodology - To pinpoint the items of a human cloud platform framework, the study was initiated according to the following process. First, items of competency relating to e-learning instructional designer was analyzed. Second, based on the items of information from this analysis, selection and validity verification took place with 5 e-learning specialists group. Third, the opinion of experts who were in charge of hiring in e-learning companies were collated with the questionnaire. Lastly, the human cloud platform framework was proposed based on opinion results. Results - The framework was comprised of 7 domains and 27 items in order to develop the human cloud platform for e-learning instructional designer. The analysis results showed that the most highly considered item were 'skill (4.60)' that employee already have the capability. Following this (in order) were 'project type (4.56)', 'work competency (4.56)', and 'strength area of instructional design (4.52)'. Conclusions - The 27 items in the human cloud platform framework were suggested in this study. Following this, we can consider to develop the human cloud platform for finding a job and hiring e-learning instructional designer easily. For successful platform operation, we need to consider reliability between employer and employee. In addition, we need quality assurance system based on operation has public confidence.

Evaluate Students' Interaction and Happiness in Distance Learning Among Students with Learning-Difficulties During Covid-19 Pandemic

  • This study aimed at Evaluate Students' Interaction and Happiness in Distance Learning Among Students with Learning-Difficulties, by identifying the level of students' interaction in distance education and differences between them, as well as its impact on their happiness to learn. To achieve the aim of the study, two scales were designed for this purpose and were applied to a sample consisting of (310) individuals. The results showed that the level of students' interaction through the e-learning platform was at a high level. The results also showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of males and females in the scale of students' interaction through the e-learning platform. There was no statistically significant difference between them in their happiness for distance learning via the online platform. There were also no statistically significant differences related to the grade variable in the level of interaction through the electronic platform and in the happiness to learn, while there was a positive statistically significant effect of interaction through the electronic platform on students' happiness to learn.

  • 정보통신 기술의 급격한 발달은 u-러닝, m-러닝, t-러닝과 같은 다양한 형태의 e-러닝을 유도 하였다. 각종 기술을 통하여 학습자는 고정된 학습 공간이 아니라 다양한 환경에서 연속성을 가지고 학습할 수 있게 되었다. 이러한 다중 환경에서의 학습을 위해서는 기본적으로 웹 콘텐츠에 접속하는 장치들의 성능과 상태를 나타내는 플랫폼 정보를 획득하고 처리할 수 있는 기능이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 다중 환경을 지원하는 학습 시스템의 필수요소인 플랫폼 분석기의 모델을 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한 DTV를 중심으로 PC, PDA 및 휴대폰을 이용하는 다중 환경 학습 프레임워크를 제안하고, 샘플 학습 시나리오와 콘텐츠를 통하여 다중 환경 학습의 가능성을 살펴보았다.

  • 최근 스마트 폰을 활용하여 다양한 학습 콘텐츠들이 구축되어 오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 대학에서 e-learning을 수행에 관한 전반적인 추세와 동향에 대해 알아보았다. 그리고 시스템은 스마트 포털, 학습관리시스템(LMS), 그리고 학습컨텐츠관리시스템(LCMS)으로 구성된 e-learning 플랫폼으로 구축하였다. 실험을 통하여 e-learning의 각각의 구성요소를 구현하였다. 학습관리시스템은 자격취득을 위한 사용자 프로파일을 이용한 평가 시스템으로 보다 효율적으로 구현하였다.

Relevance of E- Learning and Quality Development in Higher Education

  • This is an extended paper explaining the role of E-learning and quality development in the current situation. Amid Covid:19, E-Learning has achieved a new miles stone in imparting education and all levels of institutions have transformed their learning platform from face to face to virtual learning. In this scenario E-Learning is facing two major challenges, first to ensure the ability of computer systems or software to exchange and make use of information on virtual platform (interoperability) and secondly, developing quality learning through e-Learning. To impart learning and teaching (L&T) through E-learning, Middle East University (MEU) has adopted Learning Management Services (LMS) through Blackboard. The university has three types of L&T methods; full online, Blended and Supportive. This research studies the concept, scope and dimensions of interoperability (InT) of E-Learning in MEU then the connection and interdependence between with quality development. In this paper we have described the support and the importance of finest standards and specifications for the objectives of InT of E-Learning and quality development in MEU. The research is based principally on secondary data observed from MEU E-Learning deanship. Also sample of 20 E-Learning experts at MEU were given closed ended as well as semi closed questionnaires for evaluating the assurance of InT of E-Learning and quality development. These experts are mainly certified online facilitators and admin staff. Results provide the verification of application and presence of InT of E-Learning and assured the quality development process in MEU.

도서관 이러닝 플랫폼 사례분석 연구 - 학습 내용 및 기능을 중심으로 - (Research on Case Analysis of Library E-learning Platforms: Focusing on Learning Contents and Functions)

  • 본 연구는 도서관의 이러닝 플랫폼 구축을 위한 주요 학습 내용과 기능 및 활성화 방안을 제안하고자 문헌연구와 사례분석 및 전문가 조사를 진행하였다. 문헌연구에서 도서관이 이러닝 생태계에 있는 이용자를 위해 질 높은 온라인 교육을 제공해야 함을 알 수 있었으며 선행연구를 통해 도서관의 이러닝 플랫폼 분석을 위한 학습기능 분석 도구를 도출하였다. 이를 기반으로 국내외 도서관 이러닝 플랫폼들의 학습 내용과 기능 및 특징을 분석하였으며 전문가 설문 조사 및 인터뷰를 수행하였다. 분석결과, 도서관의 지속 가능한 이러닝 서비스를 위해 학습 과정과 기술을 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 플랫폼의 구축이 필수적이며 제공해야 할 학습 내용은 관 종에 상관없이 공통적으로 독서교육, 정보활용교육, 도서관이용교육, IT 최신기술 소개 등 도서관교육의 특성을 나타내는 주제가 도출되었다. 주요한 학습기능으로는 학습유형 중 영상강의와 실시간 수업을 진행할 수 있어야 하며 학습자료와 이용 가이드를 제공할 수 있는 학습활동지원 기능, 교육내용을 저장하고 공유할 수 있는 클라우드 플랫폼 지원 기능, 생애주기 맞춤형 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있는 개인화 환경 지원 기능 등을 제시하였다. 또한, 도서관 사서의 기술력 향상을 위한 재교육, 이러닝 관련 팀의 구성과 전문사서의 도입을 제안하였다.

Measuring Acceptance Levels of Webcast-Based E-Learning to Improve Remote Learning Quality Using Technology Acceptance Model

  • This study aims to improve the quality of distance learning by developing webcast-based e-learning media and integrating it into an e-learning platform for functional job training purposes at the National Research and Innovation Agency, Indonesia. This study uses a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to assess and predict user perceptions of information systems using webcast platforms as an alternative to conventional applications. The research method was an online survey using Google Forms. Data collected from 136 respondents involved in practical job training were analyzed using structural equation modeling to test the technology acceptance model. The results showed that the proposed model effectively explained the variables associated with the adoption of web-based e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia for participants engaged in functional job training. These findings suggest that users' perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, benefits, attitudes, intentions, and webcast usage significantly contribute to the acceptance and use of a more effective and efficient webcast-based e-learning platform.
