Visualization of Dynamic Simulation Data for Power System Stability Assessment

  • Power system analyses, which involve the handling of massive data volumes, necessitate the use of effective visualization methods to facilitate analysis and assist the user in obtaining a clear understanding of the present state of the system. This paper introduces an interface that compensates for the limitations of the visualization modules of dynamic security assessment tools, such as PSS/e and TSAT, for power system variables including generator rotor angle and frequency. The compensation is made possible through the automatic provision of dynamic simulation data in visualized and tabular form for better data intuition, thereby considerably reducing the redundant manual operation and time required for data analysis. The interface also determines whether the generators are stable through a generator instability algorithm that scans simulation data and checks for an increase in swing or divergence. The proposed visualization methods are applied to the dynamic simulation results for contingencies in the Korean Electric Power Corporation system, and have been tested by power system researchers to verify the effectiveness of the data visualization interface.

  • Belt-driven Starter Generator (BSG) differs from other mild hybrid systems as the crankshaft of vehicle are not run off. Motor permits a low-cost method of adding mild hybrid capabilities such as start-stop, power assist, and mild levels of regenerative braking. Wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM) could be adopted in BSG system for HEV e-Assisted application instead of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). In practice, adequate torque is indispensable for starter assist system, and energy conversion should be taken into account for the HEV or EV as well. Particularly, flux weakening control is possible to realize by adjusting both direct axis components of current and field current in WRSM. Accordingly, this paper present an off-line current acquisition algorithm that can reasonably combine the stator and field current to acquire the maximum torque, meanwhile the energy conversion is taken into consideration by losses. Besides, on account of inductance influence by non-uniform air gap around rotor, nonlinear inductances and armature flux linkage against current variation are proposed to guarantee the results closer to reality. A computer-aided method for proposed algorithm are present and results are given in form of the Look-up table (LUT). The experiment shows the validity of algorithm.

전자펜 기반 편측시각무시(UVN) 환자 검사 및 재활치료 시스템 (Electronic Pen-based Unilateral Visual Neglect Assessment and Rehabilitation System)

  • Assessment and rehabilitation of patients with unilateral visual neglect has been one of the fields that require assistive technology. Paper-and-pencil tests, including the LBT (Line Bisection Test), have been one of the most commonly used visual neglect assessment methods used in a clinical setting. The key motivation of this study was to establish a computer-based real-time assessment system for the hemi-neglect patients without altering the conventional paper-and-pencil based user tools. A digital penbased assessment and rehabilitation system, the ePen System, could eliminate the manual assessment time while maintaining measurement accuracy. As a result, the proposed system may assist rehabilitation specialists to assess and diagnose patients with unilateral visual neglect. This system can be applied to a range assessment and rehabilitation modalities based on a pen and paper. It can also be applied to various patients such as those with Parkinson's disease, stroke sufferers, or those who have experienced different forms of brain lesions.

  • Sensorless electric superchargers have recently been actively developed to provide a large amount of oxygen to engines in order assist the combustion process for miniaturizing the engines and improving fuel efficiency. The model-based sensorless method for surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors has a disadvantage in that the system may become unstable due to parameter variations in low-speed operation and the rapid-acceleration section. An electric supercharger requires fast response to improve the engine response delay, such as the turbocharger turbo-rack. Therefore, the responsiveness must be improved to use the model-based sensorless system. The position compensation algorithm designed in this study is controlled by converting the position error into the beta, which is the angle formed by the d-axis and the stator current during sudden speed change. In this study, we improved the response of the model-based sensorless system through the algorithm and verified the algorithm validity by applying the algorithm to an actual dual-motor supercharger.

증강현실 기반의 항행정보 가시화를 위한 영상해석 모듈 (Image Analysis Module for AR-based Navigation Information Display)

  • This paper suggests a navigation information display system that is based on augmented reality technology. A navigator always has to confirm the information from marine electronic navigation devices and then compare it with the view of targets outside the windows. This "head down" posture causes discomfort and sometimes near accidents such as collisions or missing objects, because he or she cannot keep an eye on the front view of the windows. Augmented reality can display both virtual and real information in a single display. Therefore, we attempted to adapt AR technology to assist navigators. To analyze the outside view of the bridge window, various computer image processing techniques are required because the sea surface has many noises that disturb computer image processing for object detection, such as waves, wakes, light reflection, and so on. In this study, we investigated an analysis module to extract navigational information from images that are captured by a CCTV camera, and we validated our prototype.

  • 웹기반 기업정보시스템은 다양한 애플리케이션, 콘텐츠 그리고 자료유형이 혼재되어 있어 시스템사용자의 정보처리효율과 정보해독성의 저해요인이 된다. 이러한 환경에서 보다 사용자친근성과 접근의 편의성을 제공할 수 있는 기술이 포털이며 이를 통하여 기업의 모든 정보시스템 그리고 외부시스템간의 원활한 연결을 도모할 수 있을 것이다. 본고에서는 기업포털(EP)을 정보처리포털(IPP), 의사결정지원포털(DPP) 그리고 지식경영포털(EKP)로 분류하고 이를 통하여 효율적인 시스템환경을 위한 구축방법을 제시하였다. 또한 구축에 따른 기술적인 문제보다는 개념적이고 절차적인 문제에 역점을 두고 분석하였다.

국내 건설현장 외국인 근로자 안전교육 모델 개발 (A Development of Safety Education Model for a Foreign Worker in Domestic Construction Site)

  • 국내 건설현장에서는 외국인 근로자들의 수가 증가함에 따라 그들에게 적합한 안전교육체계의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 외국인 근로자들을 위한 안전교육 모델을 제안하고 실제로 프로토타입의 안전교육시스템을 구현하였다. 그 결과로 이러닝 시스템 기반의 안전교육 모델을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 국내 건설현장에서 근무하고 있는 외국인 근로자들이 안전교육을 잘 받을 수 있도록 지원해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 현장의 안전관리자로 하여금 외국인 근로자들을 잘 교육하고 관리할 수 있도록 지원해 줄 것이다.

  • 한국형 양심실 보조 인공 심장의 효율 측정 방법과 측정 결과이다. 한국형 양심실 보조 인공 심장은 에너지 변환기로 브러시 없는 직류 모터를 사용한다 이 브러시 없는 직류 모터가 기어 열을 따라 원추운동을 하며 혈액주머니에 힘을 가하게 되고. 이 힘에 의해 혈액주머니 안의 혈액이 박출하게 된다. 효율 측정을 위하여 제어기 및 모터부, 기어부 및 작동기부. 혈액주머니 및 기타부 등 크게 세 부분으로 나누었으며. 각각을 다시 소자별로 나누어 입. 출력의 효율을 측정했다. 부하의 토크, 분당 회전수 각속도, 인가되는 전압 등을 바꾸어 가면서 시스템의 효율을 측정했고. 이 측정을 통해서 모터 운동시의 전체적인 효율과 부분별 효율을 알 수 있었다. 특히 양심실 보조 장치의 모터부와 작동기부의 효율측정에 중점을 두었다. 측정 결과 이동 작동기형 양심실 보조 장치의 평균 동작 영역인 4$\ell/min$ 박출량에서, 전체 효율은 8 %정도이며 구체적으로는 모터부 50 %, 작동기부 85 % 혈액주머니부 19 %정도의 효율을 보였다. 또한 6$\ell/min$ 박출량의 경우, 전체 효율은 5.5 %정도였다. 분석된 결과를 바탕으로 효율을 개선하기 위해 박출량에 따른 필요 구동 전압을 결정하고. 혈액주머니의 충만 상태에 따른 속도 파형을 연구. 제안하였다.

객체기반 시소러스 시스템의 설계 및 구현: 반자동화 방식의 구축, 추상화 방식의 개념 브라우징 및 질의기반 참조 (Design and Implementation of an Object-Based Thesaurus System: Semi-automated Construction, Abstracted Concept Browsing and Query-Based Reference)

  • 본 논문에서는 객체지향 패러다임을 적용함으로써 도메인 종속적인 시소러스를 효율적으로 구축하고 관리할 수 있는 객체기반 시소러스 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 이때, 객체지향 패러다임은 시소러스의 구축, 개념 브라우징 그리고 질의기반 참조 기능에 적용된다. 이 시스템에서 객체지향 패러다임의 상속 메커니즘은 시소러스에 표현된 개념들간의 관계를 구조적으로 파악할 수 있게 하여 전문가가 시소러스를 반자동 방식으로 구축할 수 있도록 지원한다. 특히, 방대한 시소러스를 여러 전문가들이 서로 다른 호스트에서 구축할 경우, 이 메커니즘에 의해 파악된 정보는 시소러스의 의미적 일관성을 유지시킬 수 있도록 도와주며, 전문가가 직접 개념들간의 관련 정도를 모두 명시해야하는 부담을 최소화할 수 있다. 객체기반 시소러스 시스템은 또한 질의기반 참조 기능과 추상화 방식의 개념 브라우징 기능을 제공한다. 이 기능들은 검색 질의에 이용될 시소러스 개념들을 사용자가 사전에 탐색해 봄으로써 쉽게 검증할 수 있게 한다. 특히, 이 질의 검증 과정은 높은 정확률을 요구하는 도메인에 적절히 이용될 수 있다.

G4C 스마트 앱 서비스 특성이 사용의도에 미치는 영향: 한·중 비교 분석을 중심으로 (The Influence of Using Intention by G4C Smart Application Service Characteristics: Comparing Korea and China)

  • Purpose - Recently, the prevalence of high-speed mobile communication technology (4G) and mobile devices (smart phones, tablet PC, etc.) is leading innovative changes across all fields in society as well as business environments. Furthermore, a diversified mobile application service has spread rapidly through mobile devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs. Accordingly, the traditional E-government services paradigm has rapidly changed into mobile intelligence. To identify the influencing factors on the using intention of G4C smart app services, based on previous studies, the variables that influence using G4C smart app services are defined; these are user cognitive factors (perceived usefulness, perceived easiness), user characteristics factors (user innovativeness, self-efficiency, social influence), service quality factors (convenience, interactivity, accessibility), and system quality factors (instant connectivity, safety). Research design, data, and methodology - This is designed not only to collect data with a questionnaire survey (9/22/13~10/23/13) but also to test hypotheses with SEM by SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 in both Korea and China. All items are used with Likert 5 scales. A total of 643 questionnaires (Korea 318, China 325) are used. Results - The perceived usefulness and perceived easiness in user cognitive factors have positive influence on using intention. The user innovativeness, self-efficiency, and social factors in user characteristics factors have positive influences on using intention. The convenience, interactivity, and accessibility in service quality factors have positive influences on both reliability and using intention. Safety in system quality has positive influence on both reliability and using intention. Reliability has positive influence on using intention. The control variables (Korea and China) affect its control hypothesis. Strategies and implications are suggested to assist the public using the intention of smartphone's e-government services based on the results of the empirical analysis. The mobile application service can be considered a new emergence of the paradigm just like the government's on-line portal websites appeared in the past. Under this prevailing situation of mobile smart devices, to promote the success of e-government mobile APP services, accurate analysis and understanding of users should precede anything, to provide services to grasp and satisfy users' desire properly. Conclusions - This study proposes implications to help E-governmental officers and companies make strategies. First, this is expected to give some information on the understanding and knowledge regarding the process of G4C smart APP service based on the empirical study. Second, this helps to make future policies and ways about E-government G4C smart APP service. Third, it is proved that super speed mobile communication technology and devices including phones will be crucial to change the structure of E-government services in 2-3 years. Fourth, it is necessary to increase the trust and using intention of users. Fifth, considering what type of environment users are placed in, to present proper public information matching their inclination, is important. Finally, various ways of experiencing service to explore potential users and ceaseless public relations are required.
