Traditional statistical process control (SPC) applied to discrete part industry in the form of control charts can look for and eliminate assignable causes by process monitoring. On the other hand, engineering process control (EPC) applied to the process industry in the form of feedback control can maintain the process output on the target by continual adjustment of input variable. This study presents controlling and monitoring rules adopted by variable sampling interval (VSI) to change sampling intervals in a predetermined fashion on the predicted process levels under integrated EPC and SPC systems. Twelve rules classified by EPC schemes(MMSE, constrained PI, bounded or deadband adjustment policy) and type of sampling interval combined with EWMA chart of SPC are proposed under IMA (1,1) disturbance model and zero-order (responsive) dynamic system. Properties of twelve control rules under three patterns of process change (sudden shift, drift and random shift) are evaluated and discussed through simulation and control rules for integrated VSI EPC and SPC systems are recommended.
The 3-hour-interval prediction of ground-level temperature up to +45 hours in Seoul area is performed using dynamic linear models(DLM). Numerical outputs and observations we used as input values of DLM. According to compare DLM forecasts to RDAPS forecasts using RMSE, DLM improve the accuracy of prediction and systematic error of numerical model outputs are eliminated by DLM.
The multiprocess dynamic survival model is proposed for the application of the regression model on the analysis of survival data with time-varying effects of covariates : where the survival data consists of numbers of deaths at certain time-points. The algorithm for the recursive estimation of a time-varying parameter vector is suggested. Also the algorithm of forecasting of numbers of deaths of each group in the next time interval based on the information gathered until the end of current time interval is suggested.
This paper investigates the ground vibration induced by high-speed trains moving on multi-span continuous bridges. The dynamic impact factor of multi-span continuous bridges under trainloads was first determined in the parametric study, which shows that the dynamic impact factor will be large when the first bridge vertical natural frequency is equal to the trainload dominant frequencies, nV/D, where n is a positive integer, V is the train speed, and D is the train carriage interval. In addition, more continuous spans will produce smaller dynamic impact factors at this resonance condition. Based on the results of three-dimensional finite element analyses using the soil-structure interaction for realistic high-speed railway bridges, we suggest that the bridge span be set at 1.4 to 1.5 times the carriage interval for simply supported bridges. If not, the use of four or more-than-four-span continuous bridges is suggested to reduce the train-induced vibration. This study also indicates that the vibration in the train is major generated from the rail irregularities and that from the bridge deformation is not dominant.
In the paper we study dynamic response of a finite, simply supported Timoshenko beam subject to a moving continuously distributed forces. Three problems have been considered. The dynamic response of the Timoshenko beam under a uniform distributed load moving with a constant velocity v has been considered as the first problem. Obtained solutions allow to find the response of the beam under the interval of the finite length a uniformly distributed moving load. Part of the solutions are presented in a closed form instead of an infinite series. As the second problem the steady-state vibrations of the beam under uniformly distributed mass $m_1$ moving with the constant velocity has been considered. The vibrations of the beam caused by the interval of the finite length randomly distributed load moving with constant velocity is considered as the last problem. It is assumed that load process is space-time stationary stochastic process.

Younger generations use a variety of visual media, such as smartphones, televisions, and computers. Due to the development of visual media, the health of eye was weakening. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of eye health and dynamic visual activity on eye muscle stimulation with eye movement and therapeutic massage in university students. 38 university students in their 20s were divided into a control group(18) and an experimental group(20). The experimental group performed eye movement and therapeutic massage every 30 minutes for 5 times a week for 4 weeks. Ocular fatigue, maximal blinking interval, ocular surface temperature, and dynamic visual activity were measured before and after 4 weeks. Ocular fatigue was decreased significantly after 4 weeks (p<.05), and maximal blinking interval was increased significantly after 4 weeks (p<.05). Ocular surface temperature was not showed a significant difference after 4 weeks (p>.05), and dynamic visual activity was increased significantly after 4 weeks (p<.05). Therefore, eye movement and therapeutic massage are recommended for the improvement of eye function and eye health. It is expected to be used as research data to restore and prevent for eye health.
Steel -Concrete Composite two girder railway bridges applying high performance steel with extra thick plate have economic and aesthetic advantages due to the simplification of manufacturing and construction process. However, steel bridges are seldom adopted in domestic railway bridge, since steel bridges are not efficient as R.C bridges considering dynamic characteristics and noise, etc. While highway bridges do not have lower horizontal bracing and larger interval of diaphragm cross beam, railway bridges install lower horizontal bracings to control the torsion due to heavy eccentrical line load. Accurate finite element analysis were performed with the parameters of existence of bracing and bracing shape, with the cross beam interval and stiffness, etc. To find out the effects of secondary members such as horizontal bracings and diaphragms, static md dynamic analysis have been performed by using finite element method. In this study, few member plate-girder bridges are analyzed with variable span lengths to examine the dynamic behavior and limits of damping. And though lateral bracings are members against torsion, but lateral bracing's absence is no big problem. Time history analysis using mode superposition method makes proof of this result.
The selection of the optimal checkpointing interval has been a very critical issue to implement a checkpointing recovery scheme for the fault tolerant distributed system. This paper presents a new scheme that allows a process to select the proper checkpointing interval dynamically. A process in the system evaluates the cost of checkpointing and possible rollback for each checkpointing interval and selects the proper time interval for the next checkpointing Unlike the other scheme, the overhead incurred by both of the checkpointing and rollback activities are considered for the cost evaluation and current communication pattern is reflected in the selection of the checkpointing interval. Moreover, the proposed scheme requires no extra message communication for the checkpointing interval selection and can easily be incorporated into the existing checkpointing coordination schemes.
Several caching schemes for realtime multimedia systems have been proposed, but they focus only on increasing the hit ratio without providing any means to utilize the saved disk bandwidth due to cache hits. One of the most important metrics in multimedia systems is the number of clients that the systems can service simultaneously guaranteeing Quality of Service(QoS). Preemptive but Safe Interval Caching(PSIC) was proposed as a caching scheme which makes it possible to provide deterministic QoS.. However, it has no ability to adapt to the change of system environments since it has no mechanism to change the cache size. In this paper, we present a new caching scheme, Dynamic Interval Caching(DIC), which maximizes the performance, regardless of the change of system environments, providing hiccup-free service, by managing memory buffers dynamically. And it is demonstrated that DIC allocates buffer cache optimally, by comparing with PSIC through trace-driven simulations.
We determine interval of two eigenvalues for which there existence and nonexistence of positive solution for a system of even-order dynamic equation on time scales subject to Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions.
