Highly standardized products are suitable for automated purchasing using electronic commerce technology, where the price becomes the most important factor. Suppliers can change the prices dynamically based on the inventory level and market situation in order to maximize the sales and profit. In the virtual marketplace where multiple customers purchase multiple standardized products from multiple suppliers repetitively, customers can purchase the required amount of each item as a dynamic bidding by allocating purchase orders to the suppliers based on the current price. Customers need a method to quickly determine the optimal allocation of orders to the suppliers using the dynamically changing data to minimize the total cost. We present a LP model which minimizes the sum of the total price plus transportation cost for this problem. Simulation results using random data show meaningful reduction of the total cost.

This paper proposes a new dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm for an XG-PON (10-Gbps-capable passive optical network) system. In the XG-PON system, an ONU (optical network unit) does not explicitly send it request to an OLT (optical line termination). The OLT monitors the upstream bandwidth usage of the ONU to estimate the request of the ONU. Then the OLT performs a dynamic bandwidth allocation process based on the estimated requests.

Cloud computing platform is a shared pool of resources and services with various kind of models delivered to the customers through the Internet. The methods include an on-demand dynamically-scalable form charged using a pay-per-use model. The main problem with this model is the allocation of resource in dynamic. In this paper, we have proposed a mechanism to optimize the resource provisioning task by reducing the job completion time while, minimizing the associated cost. We present the Cooperative Agents Dynamic Resource Allocation and Monitoring in Cloud Computing CADRAM system, which includes more than one agent in order to manage and observe resource provided by the service provider while considering the Clients' quality of service (QoS) requirements as defined in the service-level agreement (SLA). Moreover, CADRAM contains a new Virtual Machine (VM) selection algorithm called the Node Failure Discovery (NFD) algorithm. The performance of the CADRAM system is evaluated using the CloudSim tool. The results illustrated that CADRAM system increases resource utilization and decreases power consumption while avoiding SLA violations.
A routing strategy based on traffic prediction and dynamic cache allocation for satellite nodes is proposed to address the issues of high propagation delay and overall delay of inter-satellite and satellite-to-ground links in low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite systems. The spatial and temporal correlations of satellite network traffic were analyzed, and the relevant traffic through the target satellite was extracted as raw input for traffic prediction. An improved gradient boosting regression tree algorithm was used for traffic prediction. Based on the traffic prediction results, a dynamic cache allocation routing strategy is proposed. The satellite nodes periodically monitor the traffic load on inter-satellite links (ISLs) and dynamically allocate cache resources for each ISL with neighboring nodes. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed routing strategy effectively reduces packet loss rate and average end-to-end delay and improves the distribution of services across the entire network.
In this paper, the authors propose a new approach to the control problem of marine vessels that are moored or controlled by actuators. The vessel control system is basically based on Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) technology. The main object of this paper is to obtain a more useful control design method for DPS. In this problem, the control allocation is a complication. For this problem, many results have been given and verified by other researchers using a two-step process, with the controller and control allocation design processes carried out individually. In this paper, the authors provide a more sophisticated design solution for this issue. The authors propose a new design method in which the controller design and control allocation problems are considered and solved simultaneously. In other words, the system stability, control performance, and allocation problem are unified by an LMI (linear matrix inequality) based on control theory. The usefulness of the proposed approach is verified by a simulation using a supply vessel model.

In this paper, we present a new generalized k-Tree-based (CU/PE) allocation model to perform dynamic resource (CU/PE) allocation/deallocation decision for the reconfigurable MSIMD/MIMD multi-dimensional (k-D) mesh-connected architectures. Those reconfigurable multi-SIMD/MIMD systems allow dynamic modes of executing tasks, which are SIMD and MIMD. The MIMD task requires only the free sub-system; however the SIMD task needs not only the free sub-system but also the corresponding free CU. In our new k-Tree-based (CU/PE) allocation model, we introduce two best-fit heuristics for the CU allocation decision: 1) the CU depth first search (CU-DFS) in O(kN$_{f}$ ) time and 2) the CU adjacent search (CU-AS) in O(k2$^{k}$ ) time. By the simulation study, the system performance of these two CU allocation strategies was also investigated. Our simulation results showed that the CU-AS and CU-DFS strategies performed the same system performance when applied for the reconfigurable MSIMD/MIMD 2-D and 3-D mesh-connected architectures.

In this paper, we propose an ASA(Aggressive Subchannel Allocation) algorithm, which is an effective dynamic channel allocation algorithm considering all user's channel state to maximize downlink sector throughput in OFDMA system. We compare an ASA algorithm with Round Robin, ACG(Amplitude Craving Greedy), RCG(Rate Craving Greedy) and GPF(General Proportional Fair) in the 2-tier environment of FRF(Frequency Reuse Factor) 1 and then analyze the performance of each algorithms, through compute simulation. Simulation results show that the proposed ASA algorithm gets 58 %, 190 %, 130 % and 8.5 % better sector throughput compared with the Round Robin, ACG, RCG and GPF respectively.
As broadband access is evolving from digital subscriber lines to optical access networks, Ethernet passive optical networks (EPONs) are considered a promising solution for next generation broadband access. The point-to-multipoint topology of EPONs requires a time-division multiple access MAC protocol for upstream transmission. In this paper, we propose a new enhanced dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm with fairness called EFDBA for multiple services over EPONs. The proposed algorithm is composed of a fairness counter controller and a fairness system buffer in the optical line terminal. The EFDBA algorithm with fairness can provide increased capability and efficient resource allocation in an EPON system. In the proposed EFDBA algorithm, the optical line termination allocates bandwidth to the optical network units in proportion to the fairness weighting counter number associated with their class and queue length. The proposed algorithm provides efficient resource utilization by reducing the unused remaining bandwidth made by idle state optical network units.

Control allocation is an important part of a system. It implements the function that map the desired command forces from the controller into the commands of the different actuators. In this paper, the authors present an approach for solving constrained control allocation problem in vessel system by using multi-parametric quadratic programming (mp-QP) algorithm. The goal of mp-QP algorithm applied in this study is to compute a solution to minimize a quadratic performance index subject to linear equality and inequality constraints. The solution can be pre-computed off-line in the explicit form of a piecewise linear (PWL) function of the generalized forces and constrains. The efficiency of mp-QP approach is evaluated through a dynamic positioning simulation for a vessel by using four tugboats with constraints about limited pushing forces and found to work well.

A low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation could be used to provide network coverage for the entire globe. This study considers multi-beam frequency reuse in LEO satellite systems. In such a system, the channel is time-varying due to the fast movement of the satellite. This study proposes an efficient power and bandwidth allocation method that employs two linear machine learning algorithms and take channel conditions and traffic demand (TD) as input. With the aid of a simple linear system, the proposed scheme allows for the optimum allocation of resources under dynamic channel and TD conditions. Additionally, efficient projection schemes are added to the proposed method so that the provided capacity is best approximated to TD when TD exceeds the maximum allowable system capacity. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms existing methods.
