  • This paper presents robustness propertis of the Kalman Fiter and the associated LQG/LTR method for linear time-invariant output-delayed systems. It is shown that, even for minimum phase plants, the LQG/LTR method can not recover the target loop transfer function. Instead, an upper bound on the recovery error is obtained using an upper bound of the solution of the Kalman filter Riccati equations. Finally, some dual properties between output-delayed systems and input-delayed systems are exploited.

  • An integrated charger is used for bi-directional power conversion between an electric vehicle and a power grid. The proposed integrated charger works in a way that motor windings are utilized as filter inductances for charging/discharging of batteries in addition to the original purpose of motor drives. After a mathematical model of the integrated charger based on an dual winding induction machine (DWIM) is discussed, a current control method is designed for grid connection. The effectiveness of the proposed method is examined with simulation results.

  • This paper presents the design technique of output multiplexer(OMUX) for the Ka-band satellite transponder. Output multiplexer consists of low-pass filter(LPF), channel filter and manifold. Channel filters adopt dual-mode technique in design for mass and volume reduction and frequency response of channel filters is 4-pole elliptic response for high frequency selectivity. w-pass filters are designed to be of 13th order corrugated type for high rejection characteristic over reception band of satellite transponder. After initial design of channel filters and manifold, we optimized only a few design parameters for fast and easy optimization instead of optimizing all the design parameter. Measured results of a realized output umltiplexer for Ka-band satellite transponder show good agreement with the computed ones.

  • Kinematic global positioning system precise point positioning (GPS PPP) technology is widely used to the several area such as monitoring of crustal movement and precise orbit determination (POD) using the dual-frequency GPS observations. In this study we developed a kinematic PPP technology and applied 3-pass (forward/backward/forward) filter for the stabilization of the initial state of the parameters to be estimated. For verification of results, we obtained GPS data sets from six international GPS reference stations (ALGO, AMC2, BJFS, GRAZ, IENG and TSKB) and processed in daily basis by using the developed software. As a result, the mean position errors by kinematic PPP showed 0.51 cm in the east-west direction, 0.31 cm in the north-south direction and 1.02 cm in the up-down direction. The root mean square values produced from them were 1.59 cm for the east-west component, 1.26 cm for the south-west component and 2.95 cm for the up-down component.

  • Relative positioning technique by GPS that can obtain the high positioning accuracy has been used for generation of high precision positioning with elimination or the reduction of the common errors. This paper gives some algorithms for RTK and considers the filter to estimate the positioning information and integer ambiguities at each epoch in the whole algorithms. The extended kalman filter has been employed to estimate the state parameters and the modified LAMBDA to resolve the integer ambiguities. The data processing was performed by GPS single frequency and dual frequency in short baseline. The verification procedure of these positioning compared with results from Bernese 5.0 software. We presented some statistic values on positioning errors and the rates of integer ambiguity resolution.

  • In this paper, I present a new echo canceller using the adaptive cascade system identification (CSI) method, which a system response is divided into several responses so that each response is adaptively estimated and combined. Echo cancellation is required for a dual-duplex DSL, in order to allow each individual loop to operate in a full duplex fashion. Echo cancellation was one of the most difficult aspects of DSL design, requiring high linearity and total echo return loss in excess of 70 dB. Especially, for a fickle response, if the response is estimated by an adaptive filter, the filter needs more taps and the performance is decreased. But the response is divided into several responses, the computation complexities are decreased and the performance is increased. For the stage constant n, which represents the number of stages, if the response is not divided (n=1), the computation complexity of multiply is $2N^2$. And if the response is divided into two responses (n=2), the computation complexity of multiply is $2N^2$. Also, if n=3, the computation complexity is ${\frac{2}{3}}N^2$. Therefore, it is known that the computation complexity is decreased as n is increased. Finally, this proposed method is verified through simulation of echo canceller for digital subscriber line (DSL) application.

  • In this paper, a multipactor test for the space qualification model of the X-band dual-mode high-power channel filter for high-speed data transmission of geostationary satellite observation payloads was conducted and compared with the 8 dB margin required for design. It was confirmed that analytically required margins were met through testing and that satisfactory test results were obtained. The design and test of the multipactor are tested according to the ECSS standard. Based on this, it is suggested that if the margin of design is sufficiently secured, it can be used in the development of the filter for space qualification model without any test.

  • In this paper, prior to the flight model X-band dual-mode circular cavity filter required for the high power transmission of the observation payload in the geostationary satellite, the development model are designed and analyzed to show the analytical multipactor requirement margin. First of all, the multipaction breakdown power sensitivities were analyzed by changing the iris width and thickness within the filter, and through that the iris width and thickness was selected and then the multipaction threshold powers over the frequencies within the bandwidth were analyzed and the required margin of 8 dB was obtained. Also for the high power transmission filter, another important phenomena known as corona breakdown are analyzed for the iris width and thickness changes. Finally the development model manufactured was tested and the results met the key requirements.
