Nitrogen level in tillage and no-tillage systems in Direct-seeded rice (경운과 무경운 조건에서 벼 건답휴립직파재배의 질소시비량)

  • Growth performance of dry seeded paddy rice was studied at four N levels (10, 15, 20, and 25 kg/l0a) in tillage and no-tillage systems. Althougth the number of seedlings and maximum tillers tended to be higher and heading date was delayed by 2 days in tillage compared with those in no-tillage system, grainyield, yield components, lodging related characteristics, and N uptake were similar between two tillage ,systems. As N level increased, grain yield increased due to increased panicle number althougth the number of spikelets per panicle and percent ripended grains were similar and I, 000 grain weight decreased slightly. {Lodging index increased with increased N level due to higher plant height and decreased breaking strength and (culm base weigth, but lodging was not occurred in the field. Cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin contents of culm base were similar among N levels. Concentration and uptake of N increased as N level increased.

Effect on Co-Situs Application of Coated Urea Complex Fertilizer in Dry Seeded Rice (벼 건답직파재배시 완효성 복합비료의 접촉시비효과)

  • This study was conducted to investigate effects on the co-situs application of coated urea complex fertilizer in dry seeded rice in Dukpyong series soil. Number of spikelet established in 15 days after seeding, conventional plot was $120ea\;per\;m^2$. and whole layer placement(WLP), co-situs application 70%(CSA70%) plot and co-situs application 50%(CSA50%) plot were 146, 126 and $120ea\;per\;m^2$, respectively. There was not concentration obstacle in co-situs application plot in spite of closing application between seed and coated urea complex fertilizer. The amount of $NH_4-N$ into soil solution in different growth stage was highest in WLP 70% plot compare to other treatment. N uptaken amount was highest in CSA 70% plot as $94kg\;ha^{-1}$ compare to $90kg\;ha^{-1}$ of WLP 79% plot and $82kg\;ha^{-1}$ of CSA 50% plot. However, N use efficiency of CSA 50% plot was highest among treatments as 48%. Rice yield was highest in CSA 70% plot as 102% compared to conventional plot.

Nitrogen Split Application of Direct-seeded Rice in Tillage and No-tillage Systems (경운과 무경운 조건에서 벼 건답휴립직파재배의 질소분시비율)

  • Growth characters of dry seeded paddy rice was studied at different levels of nitrogen(N) split application (basal : immediately after irrigation : 2 weeks after irrigation: 25 days before heading: heading stage with 10 : 20 : 30 : 20 : 20%, 20 : 30 : 20 : 20 : 10%, 30 : 40 : 0 : 20 : 10%, and 100% basal of slow release urea) in tillage and no-tillage systems. On May 17 in 1990, 6kg /10a of dry seeds of a breeding line of Milyang 95 was broadcasted and covered with a power tiller. Between tillage and no-tillage systems yield and its components, lodging related characteristics, and contents of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin of culm base were similar. Leaf area index at heading stage was higher in tillage, but lodging index was lower compared with those in no-tillage plot. Culm length, effective tiller ratio, culm base weight, 1000-grain weight, harvest index in slow release N applied plot were higher compared with those in other N treatments. Grain yield of rice among levels of N split applications was similar in tillage, but it was higher in slow release N applied plot in no-tillage if 1kg /10a of additional N was applied as urea at panicle formation stage. At early growth stage N concentration and N uptake were lower in the slow release N applied plot, but higher after heading stage compared with other N treatments. The number of tillers was lowest in slow release N applied plot during the tillering stage, but the number of panicles per hill was similar to other N treatments.

Effect of Phosphate Coated Slow Release Fertilizer on Yield of Directly Seeded Rice (벼 건답(乾畓) 직파(直播) 재배(栽培)시 인산(燐酸)입힌 완효성(緩效性) 비료(肥料)의 시용효과(施用效果))

  • A field experiment was conducted to evaluate effect of phosphate coated slow release fertilizer on the directly seeded rice. Odae byeo was seeded by drill under dry condition. The soil was a sandy clay loam soil located in the Experimental Farm of the Kangweon National University, Chuncheon, Kangweon-Do. The yield of rice from the urea applicated directly seeded field was 84.9% of the yield from the transplanted field, and showed no difference between split application treatments. The yield from the phosphate coated slow release fertilizer was the highest showing 110.7% of the yield from the urea application. The yield from the polymer coated slow release fertilizer was 90.4%. The yield from the organic fertilizer 400kg/10a treatment was 81.8% and was 94.8% from the organic fertilizer 600kg/10a treatment. In 1996 experiment, the yield from the phosphate coated slow release fertilizer was higher than the yield from the transplanted field. The $NO_3-N$ and $NH_4-N$ concentrations in soil solution at the depth of 15cm revealed that nitrogen leaching was the highest from the urea N40-0-30-30 treatment, and the lowest from the phosphate coated slow release fertilizer. The phosphorus concentration showed similar pattern. Therefore, use of phosphate coated slow release fertilizer increased rice yield and decreased loss of nitrogen and phosphorus loss.

  • The experiments were conducted to evaluate safening effect of fenclorim (CGA 123'407, 4,6-dichloro-2-phenyl pyrimidine) against injuries of pretilachlor, butachlor, and benthiocarb in direct-seeded rice under flooded conditions. Pretilachlor and butachlor and benthiocarb reduced crop standing and inhibited growth of rice plants. However, premixture application of pretilachlor, butachlor or benthiocarb with fenclorim at 10-30 g ai/10a greatly reduced rice injury caused by the application of each herbicide alone and thus increased crop standing plant height and dry weight of rice plants compared to herbicide treatments alone.
