Trimming Line Design using Progressive Development Method and One Step FEM (점진 전개기법 및 유한요소 역해석법을 이용한 자동차 판넬 트리밍 라인 설계)

  • Traditional section-based method develops blank along section planes and find trimming line by generating loop of end points. This method suffers from inaccurate results for regions with out-of-section motion. In this study, new fast method to find feasible trimming line is proposed. One step FEM is used to analyze the flanging and incremental development method is proposed to handle bad-shaped mesh and undercut part. Also in order to remedy mesh distortion during development, energy minimization technique is utilized. The proposed method is verified by shrink/stretch flange forming and successfully applied to the complex industrial applications such as door outer flanging process.

  • The geometric configuration in the weight reduction designis very required to be started from the conceptual design with low cost, high performance and quality. In this point, a structural-topological shape concerned with conceptual design of structure is important. The method used in this paper combines three optimization techniques, where the shape and physical dimensions of the structure and material distribution are hierachically optimized, with the maximum rigidity of structure and lightweight. As the results, the technology of weight reduction design is considered in designs of aluminum control arm and inner panel of door.

  • 국내에서 생산되는 자동차부품이 국제적으로 경쟁력을 갖춘 제품이 되기 위해서는 불량률이 적어도 100 ppm 이하가 되어야 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 검사와 계측이 동시에 필요한 자동차 부품 제조 공정에 불량률 최소화 달성을 위한 산업체의 필요에 맞도록 머신비전을 이용하여 검사/계측 자동화시스템을 개발하는 것이다. 이 시스템은 생산부품을 전수검사하고 불량품을 100% 발견하는 것은 물론 데이터를 통계적으로 분석하여 이상원인이나 공정의 변화가 있을 때 이를 빨리 발견하여 많은 불합격품이 만들어지기 전에 공정을 조사하고 수정할 수 있는 조치를 취할 수 있도록 하였다. 이는 정확한 최신 데이터로 신속한 경향관리가 가능하도록 하는 것이며, 품질의 예방관리를 실현하는 것이다. 털 논문에서는 구체적 응용사례로서 자동차 Door inner panel의 프레스 공정에 대한 검사/계측시스템을 예시하였다.

Forming Limit Diagram of Laser Welded Blank and Its Application to Forming Analysis of Stamping Dies (레이저 용접 합체박판의 성형한계도와 스탬핑 금형 성형해석에 적용)

  • The new FLD of the laser welded blank, which includes FLCs of welded zone and base metals, is introduced. For the forming limits of welded zone, the hemispherical dome punch tests were performed with various widths of asymmetric specimen. The FLC0 as well as the dome height at fracture associated with various specimen widths in the same and different thickness combinations were found to see the formability depending on thickness combinations. In order to show the application of the new FLD, the measured strains of squared cup drawing and simulated strains of door inner panel stamping were compared with those of FLCs. The successful prediction of fracture in the applications reveals that the forming limits of welded zone and base metals should be separately found for more accurate evaluation of the formability and workability of the laser welded blank.

For document readability, high resolution of 180ppi plastic TFT backplane and high reflectance electrophoretic front panel sheet was used.   • In most of automobile body panel manufacturing, trimming process is generally performed before flanging. To find feasible trimming line is crucial in obtaining accurate edge profile after flanging. Section-based method develops blank along manually chosen section planes and find trimming line by generating loop of end points. This method suffers from inaccurate results of edge profile. On the other hand, simulation-based method can produce more accurate trimming line by iterative strategy. In this study, new fast simulation-based method to find feasible trimming line is proposed. Finite element inverse method is used to analyze the flanging process because final shape after flanging can be explicitly defined and most of strain paths are simple in flanging. In utilizing finite element inverse method, the main obstacle is the initial guess generation for general mesh. Robust initial guess generation method is developed to handle genera] mesh with very different size and undercut. The new method develops final triangular mesh incrementally onto the drawing tool surface. Also in order to remedy mesh distortion during development, energy minimization technique is utilized. Trimming line is extracted from the outer boundary after finite element inverse method simulation. This method has many advantages since trimming line can be obtained in the early design stage. The developed method is verified by shrink/stretch flange forming and successfully applied to the complex industrial applications such as door outer flanging process.

Habitability evaluation considering various input parameters for main control benchboard fire in the main control room

  • In this study, operator habitability was numerically evaluated in the event of a fire at the main control bench board (MCB) in a reference main control room (MCR). It was investigated if evacuation variables including hot gas layer temperature (HGLT), heat flux (HF), and optical density (OD) at 1.8 m from the MCR floor exceed the reference evacuation criteria provided in NUREG/CR-6850. For a fire model validation, the simulation results of the reference MCR were compared with existing experimental results on the same reference MCR. In the simulation, various input parameters were applied to the MCB panel fire scenario: MCR height, peak heat release rate (HRR) of a panel, number of panels where fire propagation occurs, fire propagation time, door open/close conditions, and mechanical ventilation operation. A specialized-average HRR (SAHRR) concept was newly devised to comprehensively investigate how the various input parameters affect the operator's habitability. Peak values of the evacuation variables normalized by evacuation criteria of NUREG/CR-6850 were well-correlated as the power function of the SAHRR for the various input parameters. In addition, the evacuation time map was newly utilized to investigate how the evacuation time for different SAHRR was affected by changing the various input parameters. In the previous studies, it was found that the OD is the most dominant variable to determine the MCR evacuation time. In this study, however, the evacuation time map showed that the HF is the most dominant factor at the condition of without-mechanical ventilation for the MCR with a partially-open false ceiling, but the OD is the most dominant factor for all the other conditions. Therefore, the method using the SAHRR and the evacuation time map was very useful to effectively and comprehensively evaluate the operator habitability for the various input parameters in the event of MCB fires for the reference MCR.

  • Manufactured easy elevator can drives from the first floor to fifth floor as sequence control circuit in cause opening than existing equipment of experiment and practice, the structure of in the first implementation process are hand-worked control component with push-button, L/S and relay, it is structured a lamp to express that the door open and moving of cage by mechanical action of For/Rev motor-braker of which load. The second structure of implement process to control from the first floor to the fifth floor with the PLC elevator program can control by the sensor of hand-operated function of L/Sl~L/S5 in time that the S/Wl~S/W5 of PLC control panel operates to the For/Rev. The function of two kind process that an elevator is driven by PLC program and the sequence control relay circuit is a mechanical relay sequence control field and it is equipment apparatus of it to get appropriately the technology of For/Rev in that mechanical operating cause of a load using the PLC program. Also the wring circuit using a plug, dissembly. the circuit and the principle of component, and PLC program with the function test can be used the implementation field to the total technology theory about FA.

  • An easy elevator originated is an opened system to compare an existing equipment, and learning efficient is high as a wiring that the sequence control circuit is on and off. The structure of an equipment to be controled from the first floor to the fifth floor is constructed by a lamp to express the function of the open-close of the door according to the cage moving, to express the mechanical actuation of the forward-reverse break and motor of load and of hand-worked control component of Push-Button S/W, L/S and Relay. In order to act of the elevator function that these components connected, designed the auto program and the sequence control circuit. Consequently the process that these(1~5steps) operated the cage with an auto program of the elevator and the sequence control circuit is controled by the step of forward and reverse that the L/S1~L/S5 of sensor adjust function let posit, by the adjustable S/W1~S/W5 of PLC testing panel and the S/W1~S/W5 which installed on the transparent acryl plate of a frame. In here, improved apparatus is the learning equipment of combined use to study the principle and the technique of the originated sequence control circuit and the auto program of PLC.

  • Injection molding is used to manufacture various kinds of products including very thin plate like frames. One such product is Door video phone system Panel which is our present object of investigation. During the molding process, large deflection problems in the final product always provokes for the several trials for the accuracy. To solve the issue we use Moldflow6.2 which is injection molding simulation software. It simulates the product exactly the way it happens in actual manufacturing environment. Differences in the geometrical parameters such as thickness changes will lead to the large deformation problems in the frame. However in our present study we simulate it in a well defined condition under several trials. Interesting observations are made in minimizing the deformation of the frame during the injection molding process. This way of approach is very useful in further works if any changes have to be made in the product.
