  • This paper describes a domain decomposition method of parallel finite element analysis for elasto-plastic structural problems. As a parallel numeral algorithm for the finite element analysis, the authors have utilized the domain decomposition method combined with an iterative solver such as the conjugate gradient method. Here the domain decomposition method algorithm was applied directly to elasto-plastic problem. The present system was successfully applied to three-dimensional elasto-plastic structural problems.

  • Domain switching effect on crack growth in ferroelectric ceramics under combined electric and mechanical loading is investigated. The shape and size of the switching zone is shown to depend strongly on the relative magnitude between the applied electric field and stress field as well as on the ratio of the coercive electric field to the yield electric field. The toughening mechanism is thought to be ferroelectric domain switching leading to the development of a process zone around the crack. Crack-tip stress intensity factor induced by domain switching for the steady state crack growth is numerically obtained.

  • Mmulti-domain noise analysis method using Power Flow Boundary Element Method(PFBEM) has been developed successfully. Some applications are introduced. several examples. PFBEM is a numerical analysis method formulated by applying Boundary Element Method(BEM) to Power Flow Analysis(PFA). PFBEM is very powerful in predicting noise level in medium-to-high frequency ranges. However there are restrictions in analyzing the coupled structures and multi-media. In this paper, an analysis method for multi-domain acoustic problems in the diverse acoustic fields is suggested. And the developed method is applied to the car interior and exterior multi-domain noise analysis.

  • The classical image reconstruction for stripmap SAR is based on the Fresnel approximation which utilizes deramping or chirp deconvolution in the synthetic aperture(slow-time) domain. Another approach in formulating stripmap SAR processing and imaging is based on the SAR wavefront reconsturction theory, and analysis of the SAR signal in the slow-time via the spherical wave Fourier decomposition of the radar radiation pattern. In this paper, we compare the Fresnel approximation and the wavefrong reconstruction methods using simulated stripmap SAR dada.

  • DNS(Domain Name System) is the Name Resolution Mechanism that makes conversion from a Domain Name of a computer on the Internet to an IP Address or the reverse conversion. In this paper we researched on the Foundation techniques of Fault-tolerant DNS Servers that the secondary DNS can take over and provide continuous services even though primary DNS stops due to some critical errors.

  • In this paper the stochastic analysis of semi-infinite domain is presented using the weighted integral method, which is expanded to include the infinite finite elements. The semi-infinite domain can be thought as to have more uncertainties than the ordinary finite domain in material constants, which shows the needs of and the importance of the stochastic finite element analysis. The Bettess's infinite element is adopted with the theoretical decomposition of the strain matrix to calculate the deviatoric stiffness of the semi-infinite domains. The calculated value of mean and the covariance of the displacement are revealed to be larger than those given by the finite domain assumptions giving the rational results which should be considered in the design of structures on semi-infinite domains.

  • IPTV broadcast channels and video content distribution are increasingly saturating network paths. New solutions based on inter-domain multicast protocols could contribute to the enhancement of multimedia content distribution over the Internet. The aim of this paper is to propose new capabilities for an existing inter-domain multicast protocol, the Protocol Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode. We describe the modified protocol and analyze its behavior using newly developed tools based on an open-source software simulator. The resulting protocol does not require topology information, which is advantageous for easier deployment. In addition, the adopted solution avoids inherent problems with inter-domain multicast routing, such as multiple paths and path asymmetries.

  • The stochastic analysis of semi-infinite domain is presented using the weighted integral method, which is improved to include the higher order terms in expanding the displacement vector. To improve the weighted integral method, the Lagrangian remainder is taken into account in the expansion of the status variable with respect to the mean value of the random variables. In the resulting formulae only the 'proportionality coefficients' are introduced in the resulting equation, therefore no additional computation time and memory requirement is needed. The equations are applied in analyzing the semi-infinite domain. The results obtained by the improved weighted integral method are reasonable and are in good agreement with those of the Monte Carlo simulation. To model the semi-infinite domain, the Bettess's infinite element is adopted, where the theoretical decomposition of the strain-displacement matrix to calculate the deviatoric stiffness of the semi-infinite domains is introduced. The calculated value of mean and the covariance of the displacement are revealed to be larger than those given by the finite domain assumptions which is thought to be rational and should be considered in the design of structures on semi-infinite domains.

  • In this paper, two dimensional analytical infinite elements which can include multiple wave components to model a underlying half-space are developed. Since these elements are expressed clearly and simply using Legendre polynomials of frequencies in frequency domain, these are very economical and efficient in computing the responses of strip foundations in frequency domain and are easily transformed for SSI analysis in time domain. To prove the behavior of the proposed two dimensional analytical infinite elements, vertical, horizontal, and rocking compliances of a rigid strip foundation in layered soils are analyzed and compared with those of Tzong ' Penzie $n^{(17)}$ and with those which calculated by numerical infinite elemen $t^{(1)}$ in frequency domain, and good agreements are noticed between them. As an application for a further study, a new scheme for SSI analysis in time domain are proposed and verified by comparing the displacement responses of the soil with a underlying rock due to a rectangular impulse loading with those of a soil modeled extended FE meshes.soil modeled extended FE meshes.

  • The discrete wavelet concept in the k-domain is applied to efficiently represent Green function of integral equations. Application of discrete wavelet concept to Green function in the k-domain can be implemented equivalently by using spatial domain variable-sized windows. The proposed method consists of constant Q-filtering, changing the center of coordinates, and transforming spatially filtered Green functions into those in the k-domain. A mathematical expression of Green function based on the discrete wavelet concept is derived and its characteristics are discussed.
