The mixed finite element analysis is the most widely used method for saturated porous media. Generally, in this method, direct method and iterative method are proposed to obtain unknown variable, however, the iterative method is recommended because the method provide numerical stability and accuracy under the material properties for solid and fluid are different. In this paper, we introduce staggered method which has strong numerical stability, and FETI(Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting) which is one of decomposition methods are applied into the method in order to obtain numerical efficiency. In which, Lagrange Multipliers and conjugated gradient method to solve decomposed domain are proposed, and then, the proposed method is verified numerical efficiency by point to point MPI(Message Passing Interface) library.
The methods and performance of a pin-level nuclear reactor core thermal-hydraulics (T/H) code ESCOT employing the drift-flux model are presented. This code aims at providing an accurate yet fast core thermal-hydraulics solution capability to high-fidelity multiphysics core analysis systems targeting massively parallel computing platforms. The four equation drift-flux model is adopted for two-phase calculations, and numerical solutions are obtained by applying the Finite Volume Method (FVM) and the Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equation (SIMPLE)-like algorithm in a staggered grid system. Constitutive models involving turbulent mixing, pressure drop, and vapor generation are employed to simulate key phenomena in subchannel-scale analyses. ESCOT is parallelized by a domain decomposition scheme that involves both radial and axial decomposition to enable highly parallelized execution. The ESCOT solutions are validated through the applications to various experiments which include CNEN $4{\times}4$, Weiss et al. two assemblies, PNNL $2{\times}6$, RPI $2{\times}2$ air-water, and PSBT covering single/two-phase and unheated/heated conditions. The parameters of interest for validation include various flow characteristics such as turbulent mixing, spacer grid pressure drop, cross-flow, reverse flow, buoyancy effect, void drift, and bubble generation. For all the validation tests, ESCOT shows good agreements with measured data in the extent comparable to those of other subchannel-scale codes: COBRA-TF, MATRA and/or CUPID. The execution performance is examined with a mini-sized whole core consisting of 89 fuel assemblies and for an OPR1000 core. It turns out that it is about 1.5 times faster than a subchannel code based on the two-fluid three field model and the axial domain decomposition scheme works as well as the radial one yielding a steady-state solution for the OPR1000 core within 30 s with 104 processors.

Robust reversible watermarking has attracted widespread attention in the field of information hiding in recent years. It should not only have robustness against attacks in transmission but also meet the reversibility of distortion-free transmission. According to our best knowledge, the most recent robust reversible watermarking methods adopt a single image as the carrier, which might lead to low efficiency in terms of carrier utilization. To address the issue, a novel dual-image robust reversible watermarking framework is proposed in this paper to effectively utilize the correlation between both carriers (namely dual images) and thus improve the efficiency of carrier utilization. In the dual-image robust reversible watermarking framework, a two-layer robust watermarking mechanism is designed to further improve the algorithm performances, i.e., embedding capacity and robustness. In addition, an optimization model is built to determine the parameters. Finally, the proposed framework is applied in different domains (namely domain-independent), i.e., Slantlet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition domain, and Zernike moments, respectively to demonstrate its effectiveness and generality. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed dual-image robust reversible watermarking framework.
Hierarchical Planning based on Abstraction of World Elements and Operators(HiPAWO) is proposed for mobile robots task planning, where abstraction of world elements is used for hierarchical planning and abstraction of operators is used for hierarchical decomposition of abstracted actions. Especially, a hierarchical domain theory based on JAH(Joint of Action Hierarchy)-graph is proposed to improve efficiency of planning, where a number of same actions are included in both adjacent hierarchical levels of domain theories to provide relationships between adjacent hierarchical levels. To show the validities of our proposed HiPAWO, experimental results are illustrated and will be compared with two other classical planning methods.

This study discusses the high-order diffusion method in the wavelet domain. It aims to improve the edge protection capability of the high-order diffusion method using wavelet coefficients that can reflect image information. During the first step of the proposed diffusion method, the wavelet packet decomposition is a more refined decomposition method that can extract the texture and structure information of the image at different resolution levels. The high-frequency wavelet coefficients are then used to construct the edge detection function. Subsequently, because accurate wavelet coefficients can more accurately reflect the edges and details of the image information, by introducing the idea of state weight, a scheme for recovering wavelet coefficients is proposed. Finally, the edge detection function is constructed by the module of the wavelet coefficients to guide high-order diffusion, the denoised image is obtained. The experimental results showed that the method presented in this study improves the denoising ability of the high-order diffusion model, and the edge protection index (SSIM) outperforms the main methods, including the block matching and 3D collaborative filtering (BM3D) and the deep learning-based image processing methods. For images with rich textural details, the present method improves the clarity of the obtained images and the completeness of the edges, demonstrating its advantages in denoising and edge protection.
Induction motors' faults detection is almost a popular topic among researchers. Monitoring the output of motors is a key factor in detecting these faults. (Short-time) Fourier, (continuous, discrete) wavelet, and extended Park vector transformations are among the methods for fault detection. One major deficiency of these methods is not being able to detect the severity of faults that carry low energy information, e.g. in ball bearing system failure, there is absolutely no way to detect the severity of fault using Fourier or wavelet transformations. In this paper, the authors have applied the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) frequency-domain analysis to detect bearing faults in an induction motor. In other words, in discrete transform which the output signal is decomposed in several steps and frequency resolution increases considerably, the frequency-band analysis is performed and it will be verified that first of all, fault sidebands become more recognizable for detection in higher levels of decomposition, and secondly, the inner race bearing faults turn out easier in these levels; and all these matter because of eliminating the not-required high energy components in lower levels of decomposing.

Operational Modal Analysis also known as Output Only Modal Analysis has in the recent years been used for extracting modal parameters of civil engineering structures and is now becoming popular for mechanical structures. The advantage of the method is that no artificial excitation need to be applied to the structure or force signals to be measured. All the parameter estimation is based upon the response signals, thereby minimising the work of preparation for the test. This test case is a controlled lab set-up enabling different parameter estimation methods techniques to be used and compared to the Operational Modal Analysis. For Operational Modal Analysis two different estimation techniques are used: a non-parametric technique based on Frequency Domain Decomposition (FDD), and a parametric technique working on the raw data in time domain, a data driven Stochastic Subspace Identification (SS!) algorithm. These are compared to other methods such as traditional Modal Analysis.

Kirchhoff-Love plate (KLP) equation is a well established theory for a description of a deformation of a thin plate under certain outer source. Meanwhile, analysis of a vibrating plate in a frequency domain is important in terms of obtaining the main frequency/eigenfunctions and predicting the vibration of plate. Among various modal analysis methods, dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) is one of the efficient data-driven methods. In this work, we carry out DMD based modal analysis for KLP where thin plate is under effects of sine-type outer force. We first construct discrete time series of KLP solutions based on a finite difference method (FDM). Over 720,000 number of FDM-generated solutions, we select only 500 number of solutions for the DMD implementation. We report the resulting DMD-modes for KLP. Also, we show how DMD can be used to predict KLP solutions in an efficient way.

Usually, spatial information can be incorporated into histograms by taking histograms of a multiresolution image. For these reasons, many researchers are interested in multiresolution histogram processing. If the relation and sensitivity of the multiresolution images are well combined without loss of information, we can obtain satisfactory results in several fields of image processing including histogram equalization, specification and pattern matching. In this paper, we propose a multiresolution histogram specification method that improves the accuracy of histogram specification. The multiresolution decomposition technique is used in order to overcome the unique feature of a histogram specification affected by a quantization error of a digitalized image. The histogram specification is processed after the reduction of image resolution in order to enhance the accuracy of the results by histogram specification methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method enhances the accuracy of specification compared to conventional methods.

Recently, safety diagnosis of the existing structures has been emerged as important issue. In particular, systematical and precise safety diagnostics for steel structures for power substation, have been required. Steel structures for power substation are under the periodical impact loads from operations of gas insulated switchgear. These loading condition accelerates damage and aging of structure. The objective of this research is to evaluate damage of structure under periodical impact loads. To evaluate the integrity of structures as organizing mathematical models including the dynamic characteristics of structures, Frequency Domain Decomposition method was choiced and an algorism was proposed. For verifying this methods and algorism, a mathematical model is composed of the development of a variety of reverse analysis and a signal processing technology reflecting physical damage of structures. A series of analysis and test results indicatge that proposed method has a confidence for applying a filed test. Therefore, it is expected to be able to take advantage of system identification to detect damage for the maintenance and management of steel structures under periodical impact loads such as power substation.
