Development of New Algorithm for RWA Problem Solution on an Optical Multi-Networks

  • This paper considers the problem of routing connections in a optical multi tree networks using WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing), where each connection between a pair of nodes in the network is assigned a path through the network and a wavelength on that path, so that connections whose paths share a common link in the network are assigned different wavelengths. The problem of optimal coloring of the paths on the optical multi-networks is NP-hard[1], but if that is the coloring of all paths, then there exists efficient polynomial time algorithm. In this paper, using a "divide & conquer" method, we give efficient algorithm to assign wavelengths to all the paths of a tree network based on the theory of [7]. Here, our time complexity is 0(n4log n).

  • In this paper, I propose and prove the evaluation standard for educational web contents. I divide the evaluation standards into five types -drill and practice, tutorial, simulation, educational game, presentation. It is proved the propriety of evaluation standards by experts. The evaluation standards presented in this paper can hep teachers to choose and to develop the educational web contents. Therefore it will contribute to decreasing a burden to prepare instruction used ICT for teachers and increasing the effect of Information-Oriented Education.

An experimental study on the wake structure behind a van type vehicle (Van형 자동차의 후류구조에 대한 실험적 해석(와류 형성을 중심으로))

  • The wake structure behind a van type vehicle was studied experimentally with a 5-hole yawhead probe. Through an effective calibration method of the 5-hole yawhead probe, the flow properties such as velocity vector, total pressure and static pressure were obtained on two cross sections within the wake. These results combined with the surface flow visualization performed in the previous study, yielded some information about the wake structure. When the model was placed in a stream with zero yaw angle, two counter rotating vortices were observed behind the model which pull down the surface flow on each side of the model. With increasing the yaw angle, the surface flow on the windward side changed to divide the flow in two directions, one flows upward on the upper part and the other flows downward on the lower part of the windward side. Hence a new weak vortex was created on the upper windward side, which resulted 3 vortices within the wake. The size and the strength of the vortices increased with yaw angle.

  • Power line communication: PLC which easy to install at anywhere near outlet for electric machine. PLC uses transmission line for voltage of which is 60 Hz. One of the important thing is the processes of adding signal to power line and extracting the signal from power line, another is to choose the strong modulation method which sends signals to long distance without loosing in PLC channel. but PLC channel have very high and variable noise and attenuation and then it is very hard to transmit optimally between the transmitter and the receiver. AWGN, impulse noise and attenuation are created. To overcome the noise and attenuation. Multi-carrier Modulation methods like as OFDM and DMT which divide the channel into many sub-channel are powerful communication methods for PLC. In this paper, PLC channels are simulated for getting BER by Matlab simulink

  • Generally, fuzzy models have the capability of dividing input space into several subspaces. compared to liner ones. But hitherto suggested fuzzy modeling algorithms not take into consideration the correlations between components of sample input data and address them independently of each other, which results in ineffective partition of input space. Therefore, to solve this problem. this letter proposes a new fuzzy modeling algorithm which partitions the input space more efficiently than conventional methods by taking into consideration correlations between components of sample data. As a way to use correlation and divide the input space. the method of principal component is used. Finally, the results of computer simulation are given to demonstrate the validity of this algorithm.

  • The weight of a ship depends on the size of the ship. Normal lightweight of a ship is over 10,000 tons. So it is inevitable to divide a ship into about more than hundreds of lumps. Each of lumps is called as a block in shipbuilding. The sizes of blocks are decided by a yard's facilities. Among them lifting cranes are most decisive facilities. By block's size the productivity of a yard is decided very much. So it is very important to have a proper block division during shipbuilding. This paper refers to the recent trend of block division among yards. This paper would give an idea how to decide boundaries of blocks. Block division also decides both quality of a ship and work volume of it. These days the block erection method is changed dramatically due to use sea barge mounted crane for erection of a grand ring block. This paper explains the new trend of block division in shipbuilding.

  • In order to forecast the progress of the track irregularity, we should observe the long-term track quality and divide a track into some separated divisions which have homogeneous property. For this, we define the division of track which has homogeneous property as a 'Segment' and manage the 'TQI(Track Quality Index)' using track induction data based on each segment. In this study, we introduce some methods of estimating track quality and figure out the TQIs of sample section using new FRA TQI method. In addition, we conducted a basic study of the forecasting model for the progress of track irregularity by analyzing track maintenance data.

  • In swarm robot systems, it is vital to maintain network connectivity to ensure cooperative behavior between robots. This paper deals with the behavior control algorithm of the swarm robots for maintaining network connectivity. To do this, we divide swarm robots into search-robots, base-robots, and relay-robots. Using these robots, we propose behavior control algorithm to maintain network connectivity. The behavior control algorithms to maintain network connectivity are proposed for the local path planning using virtual force and global path planning using the Delaunay triangulation, respectively. Finally, we demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method through some simulations.

  • In many situations, it is very important to identify a certain unkown system, it from its input-output data. For this purpose, several system modeling algorithms have been suggested heretofore, and studies regarding the fuzzy modeling based on its nonlinearity get underway as well. Generatlly, fuzzy models have the capability of dividing input space into several subspaces, compared to linear ones.   • This paper proposes a shortest path allocation algorithm over the processors on the hypercube system based on the message passing techniques with the optimized module allocation. On multiprocessor systems, how to divide one task into multiple tasks efficiently is an important issue due to the hardness of the life cycle estimation of each process. To solve the life cycle discrepancies, the appropriate task assignment to each processor and the flexible communications among the processors are indispensible. With the concurrent program execution on hypercube systems, each process communicaties to others with the method of message passing. And, each processor has its own memory. The proposed algorithm generates a callable tree out of the module, assigns the weight factors, constructs the allocation graph, finds the shortest path allocation tree, and maps them with hypercube.
