이동 수신기 환경에서 연속된 T/FDOA와 DOA를 이용한 고정 신호원의 위치 추정 방법 (Estimation and Analysis of Two Moving Platform Passive Emitter Location Using T/FDOA and DOA)

  • 현대의 수동형 위치 추정(passive emitter localization) 분야에서는 수신기 운용의 효율성을 위해 적은 수의 수신기를 이용한 원거리 신호원의 정밀한 위치추정을 지향한다. 적은 수의 수신기로 정밀한 위치추정을 위해서 연속적이고, 측정 정보들의 복합적 활용을 통해 위치 추정 성능 향상을 기대할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 제한된 환경의 2개의 이동하는 수신기 환경에서 측정 정보별 이론적 위치추정 성능을 분석하고, 위치추정 성능이 우수할 것으로 예상되는 TDOA (time difference of arrival)와 FDOA (frequency difference of arrival), 그리고 DOA (direction of arrival) 복합 측정 정보기반으로 비선형 최소자승법 중 하나인 LM (Levenberg-Marquardt) 방법을 이용하여 지상 고정 신호원의 위치를 추정하는 방법을 제안한다. 구체적으로 TDOA를 이용하여 산출한 방위 모호성이 포함된 DOA들을 이용하여 신호원의 초기 위치를 산출하고, 해당 신호원의 초기 위치와 T/F/DOA를 이용하여 위치추정 성능을 향상 시킨다.

세 가지 재분석 자료에서의 겨울철 북반구 평균 자오면 순환-에디 상호작용 (Mean Meridional Circulation-Eddy Interaction in Three Reanalysis Data Sets during the Boreal Winter)

  • The present study examines an interaction between the eddy and mean meridional circulation (MMC) comparing the results in three reanalysis data sets including ERA-Interim, NCEP2, and JRA-55 during the boreal winter in the Northern Hemisphere. It is noteworthy that the JRA-55 tends to produce stronger MMC compared to those of others, which is mainly due to the weak eddy flux. ERA-Interim represents the ensemble averages of MMC. The MMC-eddy interaction equation was adopted to investigate the scale interaction of the eddy momentum flux (EMF), eddy heat flux (EHF), and diabatic heating (DHT) with MMC. The EMF (EHF) shows a significant correlation coefficient with streamfunction under (above) 200 hPa-level. The perturbation (time mean) part of each eddy is dominant compared to another part in the EMF (EHF). The DHT is strongly interacted with streamfunction in the region between the equator and extra-tropical latitude over whole vertical column. Thus, the dominant term in each significant region modulates interannual variability of MMC. The inverse (proportional) relationship between MMC and pressure (meridional) derivative of the momentum (heat) divergence contributions is well represented in the three reanalysis data sets. The region modulated interannual variability of MMC by both EMF and DHT (EHF) is similar in ERA-Interim and JRA-55 (ERA-Interim and NCEP2). JRA-55 shows a lack of significant region of EHF due to the high resolution, compared to other data sets.

Biocomputational Characterization and Evolutionary Analysis of Bubaline Dicer1 Enzyme

  • Dicer, an ribonuclease type III type endonuclease, is the key enzyme involved in biogenesis of microRNAs (miRNAs) and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), and thus plays a critical role in RNA interference through post transcriptional regulation of gene expression. This enzyme has not been well studied in the Indian water buffalo, an important species known for disease resistance and high milk production. In this study, the primary coding sequence (5,778 bp) of bubaline dicer (GenBank: AB969677.1) was determined and the bubaline Dicer1 biocomputationally characterized to determine the phylogenetic signature among higher eukaryotes. The evolutionary tree revealed that all the transcript variants of Dicer1 belonging to a specific species were within the same node and the sequences belonging to primates, rodents and lagomorphs, avians and reptiles formed independent clusters. The bubaline dicer1 is closely related to that of cattle and other ruminants and significantly divergent from dicer of lower species such as tapeworm, sea urchin and fruit fly. Evolutionary divergence analysis conducted using MEGA6 software indicated that dicer has undergone purifying selection over the time. Seventeen divergent sequences, representing each of the families/taxa were selected to study the specific regions of positive vis-$\grave{a}$-vis negative selection using different models like single likelihood ancestor counting, fixed effects likelihood, and random effects likelihood of Datamonkey server. Comparative analysis of the domain structure revealed that Dicer1 is conserved across mammalian species while variation both in terms of length of Dicer enzyme and presence or absence of domain is evident in the lower organisms.

Molecular Cloning, Transcriptome Profiling, and Characterization of Histone Genes in the Dinoflagellate Alexandrium pacificum

  • The nucleosomal organization of chromatin using histone proteins is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of eukaryotic nuclei, with the major exception of dinoflagellates. Although a number of recent genomic and transcriptomic analyses have detected numerous histone genes in dinoflagellates, little is known about their expression. Here in, we aimed to investigate the expression pattern of histone genes under nutritional stress, and an attempt was made to detect histone expression at the protein level in Alexandrium pacificum. The presence of histones at the mRNA level was confirmed in this study by the amplification, cloning, and sequencing of 10 different genes. Relative expression profiling of these genes under different growth conditions was determined with real-time PCR and revealed considerable levels of histone transcription in nutritionally stressed cells. We were unable to detect the expression of histones at the protein level even after immunodetection and analysis using mass spectrometry, although a histone-like protein was detected as a major nuclear component. A. pacificum expresses multiple variants of histone, and protein sequences revealed both conservation and divergence with respect to other eukaryotes. We concluded that A. pacificum maintained an active transcription of histone genes within the cell, and enhanced expression of histone genes in nutritional stress strongly suggest that histones have functional significance in dinoflagellates, although expression at the protein level was below our current detection limits, which suggests a limited role of histones in DNA packaging. Finally, the plausible regulation of histone expression at the gene and protein levels in A. pacificum is discussed.

  • 본 논문은 아이디어 전개를 종합(synthesis)에 의해 처리되는 디자인 업무의 중심부분으로, 자시 말하면, 디자인 문제에 대한 발상(abduction)과 변환(transformation)이 야기되는 부분으로 보고, 이에 대한 창조적 디자인 사고의 형식을 밝히고, 이를 토대로 디자인 발상지원 시스템의 기초를 마련하는 데 이 연구의 목표가 있다 연구방법으로 디자인 사고에 대한 고찰을 토대로 디자인 사고(design thinking)의 모형을 설정하고, 디자인 직무분석(job analysis)으로 이 연구모형을 검토하여 디자인 사고의 형식과 그 구조를 밝히는 것이다. 창조적 디자인사고의 전개는 디자인 문제해결에서 새롭고 유용한 착상을 이루어 가는 과정으로서 발산(Divergence)/변형(Transformation)/수렴(Convergence)의 과정을 가지며, 추상적 개념으로부터 시작하여 구체적인 결과에 도달한다. 디자인 프로세스에서 아이디어 스케치와 같은 디자인 전개의 직무는 D-T-C 발상이 집중되는 직무군으로 난이도가 비교적 높은 것으로 나타났다. D-T-C 발상의 추상-구체의 조합적 전개가 가능하도록 직무분석에 의해 디자인 발상지원 시스템(Computer Mediated Creative Thinking System: CMCTS)을 설계하였다.

국내대륙붕 군산분지에 대한 탄성파 전산처리의 최적 매개 변수 결정 (Optimum Quality Control of Seismic Data of Kunsan Basin in Offshore Korea)

  • 군산분지는 신생대에 형성된 pull-apart형 분지로서 선 신생대층은 변성암, 화성암, 석회암, 쇄설암, 화산암 등 다양한 암상변화를 보여준다. 동 분지의 석유탐사 목표 층은 신생대층으로 쇄설암으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 일반적인 전산 처리 품질관리법을 군산분지에 적용하여 12가지의 시험처리를 실시하였고, 그 결과를 분석하여 군산분지 내에 최적 전산처리 매개 변수들을 결정하였다. 초기 전산처리단계에서는 잡음이 많거나 잘못된 트레이스를 골라내며 구형발산 및 비탄성 감쇠에 따른 진폭감쇠를 보정 하였다. 디콘볼루션은 소스파형 보정 및 통계적 디콘볼루션을 시험하였으며 약 1km간격으로 중합속도분석을 실시하였다. 뮤팅변수는 순차적으로 오프셋 수를 줄여서 중합한 도면들을 비교하여 정하였다. 구조보정은 유한차분법을 사용하였는데 최적속도는 중합속도의 $100\%$에서 $90\%$ 범위로 나타났다. 최종단면은 구조해석용 AGC 단면과 DHI, 화산암 분석 등을 위한 RAP 단면 두 가지로 결정하였다.

A Solid-Contact Indium(III) Sensor based on a Thiosulfinate Ionophore Derived from Omeprazole

  • A novel solid-contact indium(III)-selective sensor based on bis-(1H-benzimidazole-5-methoxy-2-[(4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethyl-1-pyridinyl) 2-methyl]) thiosulfinate, known as an omeprazole dimer (OD) and a neutral ionophore, was constructed, and its performance characteristics were evaluated. The sensor was prepared by applying a membrane cocktail containing the ionophore to a graphite rod pre-coated with polyethylene dioxythiophene (PEDOT) conducting polymer as the ion-to-electron transducer. The membrane contained 3.6% OD, 2.3% oleic acid (OA) and 62% dioctyl phthalate (DOP) as the solvent mediator in PVC and produced a good potentiometric response to indium(III) ions with a Nernstian slope of 19.09 mV/decade. The constructed sensor possessed a linear concentration range from $3{\times}10^{-7}$ to $1{\times}10^{-2}$ M and a lower detection limit (LDL) of $1{\times}10^{-7}$ M indium(III) over a pH range of 4.0-7.0. It also displayed a fast response time and good selectivity for indium(III) over several other ions. The sensor can be used for longer than three months without any considerable divergence in potential. The sensor was utilized for direct and flow injection potentiometric (FIP) determination of indium(III) in alloys. The parameters that control the flow injection method were optimized. Indium(III) was quantitatively recovered, and the results agreed with those obtained using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, as confirmed by the f and t values. The sensor was also utilized as an indicator electrode for the potentiometric titration of fluoride in the presence of chloride, bromide, iodide and thiocyanate ions using indium(III) nitrate as the titrant.

Molecular Characterization of the HERV-W Env Gene in Humans and Primates: Expression, FISH, Phylogeny, and Evolution

  • We characterized the human endogenous retrovirus (HERV-W) family in humans and primates. In silico expression data indicated that 22 complete HERV-W families from human chromosomes 1-3, 5-8, 10-12, 15, 19, and X are randomly expressed in various tissues. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR analysis of the HERV-W env gene derived from human chromosome 7q21.2 indicated predominant expression in the human placenta. Several copies of repeat sequences (SINE, LINE, LTR, simple repeat) were detected within the complete or processed pseudo HERV-W of the human, chimpanzee, and rhesus monkey. Compared to other regions (5'LTR, Gag, Gag-Pol, Env, 3'LTR), the repeat family has been mainly integrated into the region spanning the 5'LTRs of Gag (1398 bp) and Pol (3242 bp). FISH detected the HERV-W probe (fosWE1) derived from a gorilla fosmid library in the metaphase chromosomes of all primates (five hominoids, three Old World monkeys, two New World monkeys, and one prosimian), but not in Tupaia. This finding was supported by molecular clock and phylogeny data using the divergence values of the complete HERV-W LTR elements. The data suggested that the HERV-W family was integrated into the primate genome approximately 63 million years (Myr) ago, and evolved independently during the course of primate radiation.

Comparative Genomics of T-complex protein 10 like in Humans and Chimpanzees

  • Comparing 231 genes on chimpanzee chromosome 22 with their orthologous on human chromosome 21, we have found that 15 orthologs have indels within their coding sequences. It was rather surprising that significant number of genes have changed by indel, despite the shorter time since their divergence and led us hypothesize that indels and structural changes may represent one of the major mechanism of proteome evolution in the higher primates. Human T-complex protein 10 like (TCP 10L) is a representative having indel within its coding sequence. Gene structure of human TCP10L compared with chimpanzee TCP10L gene showed 16 base pair difference in genomic DNA. As a result of the indel, frame shift mutation occurs in coding sequence (CDS) and human TCP10L express longer polypeptide of 21 amino acid residues than that of chimpanzee. Our prediction found that the indel may affect to dramatic change of secondary protein structure between human and chimpanzee TCP10L. Especially, the structural changes in the C-terminal region of TCP10L protein may affect on the interacting potential to other proteins rather than DNA binding function of the protein. Through these changes, TCP10L might influence gene expression profiles in liver and testis and subsequently influence the physiological changes required in primate evolution.

3차원 MT 모델링 기법의 비교 분석 (A Comparative Study of 3D MT Modeling Methods)

  • 이 논문에서는 Mackie et al. (1994), Sasaki (1999) 및 Nam et al. (2007)이 개발한 3차원 자기지전류 탐사 모델링 알고리듬의 특징을 자세히 비교 분석하고자 한다. Mackie et al. (1994)과 Sasaki (1999)의 알고리듬은 유한차분법(FDM)에 기초한 반면, Nam et al. (2007)의 알고리듬은 변유한요소법(EFEM)에 기초하고 있다. 이들 세 가지 방법으로 COMMEMI 3D-2 모형의 해를 구하고 적분방정식법의 해와 비교하였으며, 또한 세 가지 격자에 대해 세 개 주파수에서 계산시간을 비교하였다. FDM에 기반을 둔 두 가지 기법에서는 EFEM을 이용하는 경우보다 빠른 시간에 해를 계산할 수 있으며 이때 계산된 겉보기비저항과 위상은 전체적으로 적분방정식법의 해와 잘 일치하였으며 이상체 근처에서만 작은 차이를 보인다. 한편 EFEM에 기초한 알고리듬도 비교적 합리적인 시간 내에 매우 정확한 해를 계산할 수 있으며 지형을 포함한 경우에도 해를 계산할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
