  • In this study, a tentative decision-making matrix for village planning in reclaimed land was proposed. The evaluating conditions in the matrix are reclaimed farming acreage and distance. And the indexes for evaluation works are farming acreage required for increasing present farm size to target size in the base of, allowable commuting distance for farming from and effective controlling distance of each village. The village planning strategies are considered into four categories ; upkeep of present village scale, transfer of its superfluous farming acreage to a neighbouring village, enlargement of present village scale and new village construction in reclaimed land. As a case study, the proposed decision-making matrix was applied to 69 villages, which are contiguous to the potential farming area from reclamation works of Yongsan River Basin Comprehensive Development Project Phase Ill and so considered in this study as future farming villages there. From the application results, the following tactics for village planning may be proposed ; principally, upkeep or enlargement of present village scale, but, in an exceptional few cases of standard farming size being 3~5ha, new village construction of normal or satellite scale.

  • In this paper, we propose the method to eliminate repetitive processes for key-point detection on multi-scale image space. The proposed method detects key-points from the original image, and select a good key-points using the cluster filters, and create the key-point clusters. And it select reference objects by using direction angles of the key-point clusters, predict the scale of the original image by using the distributed distance ratio. It transform the scale of the reference image, and apply the detection of key-points to the transformed reference image. In the results of the experiment, the proposed method can be found to improve the key-points detection time by 75 % and 71 % compared to SIFT method and scaled ORB method using the multi-scale images.

  • With 3-D vision measuring, camera calibration is necessary to calculate parameters accurately. Camera calibration was developed widely in two categories. The first establishes reference points in space, and the second uses a grid type frame and statistical method. But, the former has difficulty to setup reference points and the latter has low accuracy. In this paper we present an algorithm for camera calibration using perspective ratio of the grid type frame with different line widths. It can easily estimate camera calibration parameters such as focal length, scale factor, pose, orientations, and distance. But, radial lens distortion is not modeled. The advantage of this algorithm is that it can estimate the distance of the object. Also, the proposed camera calibration method is possible estimate distance in dynamic environment such as autonomous navigation. To validate proposed method, we set up the experiments with a frame on rotator at a distance of 1,2,3,4[m] from camera and rotate the frame from -60 to 60 degrees. Both computer simulation and real data have been used to test the proposed method and very good results have been obtained. We have investigated the distance error affected by scale factor or different line widths and experimentally found an average scale factor that includes the least distance error with each image. It advances camera calibration one more step from static environments to real world such as autonomous land vehicle use.

  • During last years, large investments have been directed to development and research of nano-technological products like semiconductor, display panel, optic-fiber communication components, life technology, and ultra-precision components. All quantitative measurements at nanometre scale should guarantees accurate results and high quality. Laser interferometer is one of most famous nanometre scale devices to be able to measure metre-scale distance with nanometre scale resolution, but it is easily affected by various error causes like geometrical, instrumental and environmental factor. On the other side, capacitive sensor is robust to above error factors, but it is able to measure relatively shorter distance, under $100{\mu}m$, than laser interferometer. New error correction method for laser interferometry using capacitive sensor will be introduced in this paper.

  • This study was to explore the level of self-actualization of the students in Korea Air and Correspondence University. The study subjects consisted of 507 students who visited the counseling center for taking advices to several psychosocial problems due to distance education through nursing counseling. The self actualization of the subjects evaluated by the self-actualization Inventory standardized by Kim and Lee in Korea. It consisted of 130 two-choice comparative value and behavior judgements. The items also consisted of two basic scales: one is inner directed scale (107 items) and the other is time competence (23 items) which included eight subscales, each of which measures a conceptually important element of self-actualization. Analysis of finding was as follows: 1) The self-actualization mean score of the total subjects was characterized by normal value within normal range of scale. The highest subscale score was NC scale: the lowest scale was EX scale. 2) The mean score of time competence scale of female student was higher than male student's time competence scale. 3) There was no significant differences in self aclualization among 4 groups in age. 4) There was also no significant differences in self-actualization between the group taken one time nursing counseling and the group taken two more times nursing counseling. 5) The problems of Job, learning, personality and further study, significantly had effects on the score of self-actualization level.

  • The high loading combustion is accomplished by making the turbulent intensity strong and the scale small in the premixed combustor. The Da-mkoler number, which is decreased by short turbulent characteristic time or by long chemical reaction time, can make the distributed reaction flame. So we developed a doubled jet burner for high loading combustion. The doubled jet burner was designed to make the scale of the flame small by the effect of impingement and increasing shear stress with doubled jet. We investigated the turbulence characteristics of unburned mixture and visualized several flames with the typical schlieren photography. Then we studied the influence of several factors that related the scale of flame. Consequently, the doubled jet burner can make the eddy very small. And we can obtain the detail information of the flame scale through ADSF(the Average Distance between Successive Fringes) in the micro- schlieren photography. The ADSF is not a exact flame scale, but it has qualitative trend with increasing turbulent intensity. The ADSF is diminished remarkably with increasing turbulent intensity. The reason is that strong turbulent intensity makes the flame zone thick and flamelets numerous. We can confirm this fact by the signal analysis of ion currents.

  • The minimum distance estimation based on the L$_2$ distance between a model density and a density estimator is studied from M-estimation point of view. We will show that how a model density and a density estimator are incorporated in order to create an M-estimation function. This method enables us to create an M-estimating function reflecting the natures of both an assumed model density and a given set of data. Some new types of M-estimation functions for estimating a location and scale parameters are introduced.

  • RR Lyrae variables are excellent distance indicators thanks to their visual magnitude-metallicity relation and well-defined Period-Luminosity Relations (PLRs) at infrared wavelengths. These population II variables together with the tip of the red giant branch provide primary calibration for the first-rung of the population II distance ladder. We will present new empirical calibration of RR Lyrae PLRs at near-infrared wavelengths using our data from the ongoing CFHT-WIRCam RR Lyrae program. We will discuss the systematic uncertainties involved in the calibration of these relations based on the latest Gaia EDR3 parallaxes and the implication for the cosmic distance scale.

  • This article presents an application of a large-scale structural mixing model(Broadwell et at. 1984) to the blowout of turbulent reacting cross flow jets. Experimental observations, therefore, aim to identify the existence of large-scale vortical structure exerting an important effect upon the flame stabilization. In the analysis of common stability curve, it is seen that the phenomenon of blowout are only related to the mixing time scale of the two flows. The most notable observation is that the blowout distance is traced at a fixed positions according to the velocity ratio at all times. Measurements of the lower blowout limits in the liftable flame are qualitatively in agreement with the blowout parameter $\xi$, proposed by Broadwell et al. Good agrement between the results calculated by a modified blowout parameter $\xi$'and the present experimental results confirms the important effect of large-scale structure in the stabilization feature of blowout.
