학생의 과학 개념에 대한 초등 예비교사의 교육적 추론 (Pre-service Elementary Teachers' Pedagogical Reasoning about Students' Science Ideas)

  • Ability of understanding students' ideas and thinking is critical to teachers' professional growth. In this study, 'pedagogical reasoning' was conceptualized as teachers' reasoning ability of students' misconceptions and possible causes of misconceptions when they hear and observe students' science discourses. To investigate elementary pre-service teachers' pedagogical reasoning levels, children's science discourses on light reflection and electric circuit were video recorded and 43 pre-service elementary teachers were asked to identify children's misconceptions and possible causes of misconceptions after watching the video clips. In conclusion, pedagogical reasoning levels of pre-service elementary teachers were not high enough, showing significant difference in light reflection and electric circuit. Possible explanations of this difference and educational implications were discussed.

  • 본고는 기술혁신과 경제성장 간의 관계에 대한 연구동향을 비판적으로 검토한다. 경제성장에서 혁신의 역할에 대한 여러 가지 입장들이 존재하며 이러한 입장들에 따라 그러한 연구동향을 정리한다. 신고전파의 성장론, 국가혁신체제론, 기술역량론, 경제추격론 등의 관점에 따라 한국을 대상으로 한 기술혁신과 경제성장에 관한 국내 외 연구가 본고의 검토대상이다. 이러한 비판적 검토와 성찰을 통해 앞으로의 연구과제들을 제시한다.

The Ironies of Japan Going into Trousers

  • This paper examines a particular period in Japanese history. when clothing was systemically changed through government policy. It demonstrates the complex relationships between an Eastern nation and a Western clothing system. It also explores the complexity of roles which clothing plays in society, clothing which brands a nation as masculine, but which resists the discourses of modernity, which were found on native clothing. It demonstrates that native, Japanese clothing has always been developing to meet the needs of its wearers, according to technology, sumptuary laws and prevailing tastes, and therefore that fashion is not any more a product of Europe than it is of the East. It reveals the Japanese fashion system as a complex and multi-dimensional one, about surface design rather than change in shape, bur also being about inner and deep surfaces as well as outer surfaces for public presentation, and thus being a carrier for private as well as public discourses. This examination also demonstrates that whilst fashion may be intimately bound up with the forces of society and also politics, it is also a force which resists outside control, and develops because of the signification with which the embodied wearers endow it.

"Daffodil Gap": Reading Jamaica Kincaid's Lucy as Intertextual Interrogation of the Postcolonial Condition

  • In Jamaica Kincaid's novel Lucy, the narrator grows up with the burden of colonial legacies embedded with Englands' imperial disciplinary projects, its language, educational institutions, discourses. Colonial education interpellates the narrator into a colonial subject through its multiple ideological discourses and systems. Teaching the literature of England is the most insidious form of the Empire's disciplinary colonial projects, more powerful than military enforcement: Its mode of operation is creating phantasy and instigating and planting desire for such phantasy. As Homi Bhabha aptly theorizes as colonial mimicry and ambivalence, the narrator as colonial subject grows up split and confused as an ambivalent subject, simultaneously mimicking and desiring for the phantasized England as real, while resisting and criticizing such up-bringing and mimetic desire. This paper explores Kincaid's rhetorical strategy of employing Wordsworth's poem, "I Wandered as a Lonely Cloud," especially her use of the flower "daffodil." Employing the concept of "daffodil gap" suggested by postcolonial critics, this paper closely examines two episodes involving the flower daffodil in the novel, one in a colonial classroom and the other in a garden in a new world and suggests that Kincaid accomplishes intertextual critique of colonial education and imperial projects.

담론 분석을 통한 건축계 표절 관련 쟁점 도출 (Addressing the issues on Architectural Plagiarism through the Analysis of Discourses)

  • The purpose of this study is to address the Issues on Architectural Plagiarism through the analysis of the discourses written in texts form. This study selected 60 texts of 20 suspected pairs of architectural plagiarism to derive key-words and key-passages to understand the Issues on Architectural Plagiarism. As a result, the Issues on Architectural Plagiarism are categorized into six different topics; Prototype, Archetype, Motif, Expression of Idea, Commodification, and Westernized-modernization. Meanwhile, the six issues were not discussed independently, but several issues were considered simultaneously in individual cases. This study is the first step to establish the objective guideline to judge Architectural Plagiarism and to be a basis in Architectural Plagiarism research.

  • This article compares archetypal heroes in Nguyễn Huy Thiệp's "The Tiger's Heart" and John Steinbeck's The Pearl. It aims to explore the voices of marginalized groups and ethnic minorities who suffer amidst the clash of civilizations. In exploring cultural communication between minority and mainstream communities as embodied by the archetypal heroes in the two works, this article highlights implications of resistance against values of the dominant. The method of "mythization" in modern Eastern and Western Literature, as this article argues, demonstrates the importance of minority discourses in as far as cultural conflicts in the globalizing world are concerned.

A Study on Effectiveness of Mathematics Teachers' Collaborative Learning: Focused on an Analysis of Discourses

  • Collaborative learning has been highlighted as an effective method of teachers' professional development in various studies. To disclose teachers' discourse threads in the process of collaborative learning for developing their knowledge, this paper adopted two methods including "content analysis" and "time-sequential analysis" of learning analytics. Such analyses were implemented for mining teachers' updated knowledge and the discourse threads in the discussion during collaborative learning. The materials for analysis involved two aspects: one was from the video-taped lesson observation reports written by teachers before and after discussing, and the other was from their discourses during the discussion process. The results proved that teachers' knowledge for teaching the centroid of a triangle was updated in the collaborative learning period, and also revealed the discourse threads of teachers' collaboration contained "requesting information or opinions", "building on ideas", and "providing evidence or reasoning", with the emphasis on "challenging ideas or re-focusing talk"

영유아 무상보육정책 담론에 대한 분석 -일가족 양립 지원 관점을 중심으로- (Discourse Analysis of Free Child Care Policy for Infants-Focus on the Perspectives of Work-Family Balance)

  • 무상보육 시행 이후에도 무상보육은 담론의 각축장이 되어 왔다. 본 연구는 영유아 무상보육 담론분석을 위해 주요 4대 일간지(조선일보, 동아일보, 경향신문, 한겨레신문)의 '무상보육' 기사를 살펴보았다. 자료 수집은 한국 언론진흥재단의 카인즈(Korea Integrated News Database System)와 조선일보 아카이브를 통해 검색하였다. 본 연구에서 이용한 자료는 무상보육 실시 후 자료로 한정하였다. 연구결과 무상보육담론은 양육수당, 맞벌이 주부 대 전업주부, 보편복지 대 선별복지 등 다양한 대립구도를 형성하면서 경합해 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 담론분석 결과 보수적 또는 진보적 이데올로기가 실천되고 재편되는 과정을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 본 연구는 무상보육 담론이 어떻게 구성되어 왔는지를 일가족 양립 지원 관점에서 성찰한다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

한국 보수언론의 복지담론 전략과 기술 -대칭, 재맥락화, 주체 형성의 담론 기술(technique)- (The Strategy and Techniques of Welfare Discourse of the Conservative Newspapers)

  • 이 연구에서는 담론 이론에 기초하여 한국 보수언론의 복지담론 전략과 기술을 분석하였다. 담론의 사회성, 정치성에 천착하여 보수언론이 복지에 관해 어떤 사회적 의미를 형성하고자 하였는지와 이 과정에서 대칭, 재맥락화, 주체화의 담론기술을 어떻게 구사하였는지 살펴보았다. 보수언론의 복지비판 담론은 복지를 이성, 도덕성, 미래, 성장 등에 다양하게 대비시키는 대칭 구조를 기본으로 전개되었다. 대칭을 이루는 복지 담론 요소들은 연관성을 가지고 다양하게 변형되면서 서로를 강화하는 효과를 가졌고, 복지에 대한 새로운 이야기로 재맥락화되었다. 또한 보수언론은 탈정치화와 관리 효율성의 추구라는 담론 요소를 가지고 새로운 이야기를 구성하였다. 주체화(형성) 면에서 보수 언론은 재정 이슈를 통해 독자들을 자산 소유자이자 복지 확대의 피해자로 구성하였고, 국민들을 세대별 계층별로 나누어 호명하는 전략을 구사하였다.
