관개용수로의 자동수위측정 자료를 활용한 농업용 저수지 공급량 산정 및 분석 (Assessing Irrigation Water Supply from Agricultural Reservoir Using Automatic Water Level Data of Irrigation Canal)

  • KRC (Korea Rural Community Corporation) is in charge of about 3,400 agricultural reservoirs out of 17,240 agricultural reservoirs, and automatic water level gauges in reservoirs and canals were installed to collect reservoir and canal water level data from 2010. In this study, 10-minute water level data of 173 reservoir irrigation canals from 2016 to 2018 are collected, and discharge during irrigation season was calculated using rating curves. For estimation of water supply, irrigation water requirement was calculated with HOMWRS (Hydrological Operation Model for Water Resources System), and the summation of reservoir water storage decrease was calculated with daily reservoir storage data from RAWRIS (Rural Agricultural Water Resource Information System). From the results, the total yearly amount of irrigation water supply showed less than 10% difference than the irrigation water requirement. The regional analysis revealed that reservoirs in Jeollanam-do and Chungcheongnam-do supply greater irrigation water than average. On the contrary, reservoirs in Gyeongsangnam-do and Chungcheongbuk-do supply less than others. This study was conducted with a limited number of reservoirs compared to total agricultural reservoirs. Nevertheless, it can indicate irrigation water supply from agricultural reservoirs to provide information about agricultural water use for irrigation.

평균유속공식의 최적매개변수 산정에 의한 유량예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Discharge by Estimating Optimum Parameter of Mean Velocity Equation)

  • 이수 및 치수, 수공구조물 설계 등을 위한 하천 설계의 중요한 요소로써, 유량의 정확한 산정은 매우 중요하다. 현재 하천의 유량 생산은 수위-유량관계 곡선법을 사용하고 있다. 수위-유량 관계 곡선법은 측정된 수위와 유량자료를 바탕으로 홍수기 때의 유량을 회귀 분석으로 예측하여 사용하는 방법이다. 비교적 간편하게, 특히 측정이 어려운 홍수기 때에 유량을 예측하여 사용 할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있지만 수위와 유량만의 관계를 이용하므로 동수반경, 에너지경사, 지형, 조도 등 하천의 수리적 특성인자를 반영하지 못하므로 기본적으로 개선되어야 할 사항이 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 하천유량을 예측하는 새로운 방법론의 하나로 KSCE에 기 게재된 Choo 등(2011)에서 제안한 Manning식과 Chezy식의 경험적 매개변수의 편리한 산정법을 이용하여 하천의 유량을 예측하였다. 실험실 사행 개수로와 India 운하에서 측정된 데이터를 바탕으로 이를 증명하였고 결정계수 0.8 수준의 정확성을 보여주었다. 따라서 본 연구가 지속적으로 수행된다면 수리적 특성을 반영하면서도 간단하게 유량을 예측할 수 있는 방법을 통하여 실무에서도 간편하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

동진강 유역의 농업용수 급수체계 분석 (Analysis of Agricultural Water Supply System at the Dongjin-River Basin)

  • This study was investigated agricultural water supply system of major agricultural waterway for Gimje canal, Jeongeup canal, Dongjin river conduit of Dongjin river basin. Furthermore, this result will be used for water resources and agricultural demand in Saemangeum reclaimed arable land. Annual precipitation for 5 years in Dongjin river basin was 1,311.7mm. The average discharges in Dongjin river basin was $1,390{\times}10^6\;m^3$ and $1,516{\times}10^6\;m^3$ and $744{\times}10^6\;m^3$ for 2,007 and 2008, respectively. Also, annual average amount of water resources was 1,861${\times}10^6\;m^3$ and $2,279{\times}10^6\;m^3$ and $1,227{\times}10^6\;m^3$ for 2,007 and 2008, respectively. Dongjin river basin water system for the analysis of agricultural water in water resources, runoff, agricultural water demand and usage surveys were analyzed, resulting in the total amount of water due to precipitation of the watershed of the $12.3{\times}10^9\;m^3$ ~$22.8{\times}10^9\;m^3$ and Dongjin River basin in waters flowing discharge is $7.4{\times}10^9\;m^3$~$16.1{\times}10^9\;m^3$, agricultural water demand and usage of each of $6.8{\times}10^9\;m^3$~$6.9{\times}10^9\;m^3$ and $4.9{\times}10^9\;m^3$~$7.1{\times}10^9\;m^3$ compared to the agricultural water demand was more likely. Agricultural water supply system in Dongjin river basin is complex because of devided branches to the main canal and branch canal. In this process, accurately assessment of water usage is very difficult. Therefore, systematic management of water resources and supply of agricultural water supply system to use the terms of the complexity and diversity by considering the appropriate level of agricultural water management systems will be needed. As a result of this study, it can be used water resources assessment in quantity, rational usefulness and basic planning of water resources development for water distribution.

화력발전소 냉각계통이 해양생물에 미치는 영향 II. 저서생물에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cooling Water System of a Power Plant on Marine Organisms II. Effects on Benthic Organisms)

  • 본 연구는 1985년 5월부터 1986년 5월까지 삼천포 화력발전소를 대상으로 발전소 냉각계통의 가동이 저서생물군집의 천이에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위하여 실시되었다. 발전소 냉각계통의 가동은 배수수 및 온배수 광산구역에 서식하는 저서동물의 부착적기에 많은 영향을 을 미치고 있었다. 배수로의 낮은 종분화도와 빈약한 부착정도는 이 지역에 출현하는 저서생물의 부착기유생이 냉각수에 의하여 공급되는 자원에 의존하고 있어, 높은 온도 및 빠른 유속에 더하여 부착기유생이 냉각계통 통과시 입는 영향이 가미되었기 때문이라 보여진다. 온배수 확산구역에서 종의 수는 취수로보다 적었지만 부착생물의 양이 컸던 것은 온도상승이 몇몇 종류는 도태시키는 결과를 보였지만 나머지 종들의 번식을 촉진시켰고, 또한 이 지역에 부착기유생 자원과 새로운 부착기질로 이동해 올 수 있는 동물자원이 풍부하였기 때문이라 생각되어진다. 취수로의 여름철 군집과 온배수 확산구역의 봄철 군집, 그리고 취수로의 가을철 군집과 온배수 확산구역의 겨울철 군집이 비교적 높은 유사성을 나타낸다는 점과 취수로 저서동물군집의 생태학론 지수곡선이 $1\~2$개월의 차이를 두고 배수로와 온배수 확산구역의 지수곡선 변화와 비슷한 변화추이를 보인다는 점은 매우 유의할 만한 현상이었다.

농업용 수로부의 수위 보정을 위한 필터기법별 적용성 분석 (Analysis of Applicability by Filter Technique for Water Level Correction of Agricultural Canal)

  • Due to the recent integrated water management policy, it is important to identify a reliable supply amount for establishing an agricultural water supply plan. In order to identify the amount of agricultural water supply, it is essential to calculate the discharge by measuring the water level and flow velocity of reservoirs and canal agricultural water, and quality control to ensure reliability must be preceded. Unlike agricultural reservoirs, canal agricultural water are more sensitive to the surrounding environment and reservoir irrigation methods (continuous, intermittent irrigation, etc.), making it difficult to estimate general water level patterns and at the same time a lot of erroneous data. The Korea Rural Community Corporation is applying a filter technique as a quality control method capable of processing large quantities and real-time processing of canal agricultural water level data, and applicability evaluation is needed. In this study, the types of errors generated by the automatic water level measurement system were first determined. In addition, by using the manual quality control data, a technique with high applicability is derived by comparing and analyzing data calibrated with Gaussian, Savitzky-Golay, Hampel, and Median filter techniques, RMSE, and NSE, and the optimal parameters of the technique range was derived. As a result, the applicability of the Median filter was evaluated the highest, and the optimal parameters were derived in the range of 120min to 240min. Through the results of this study, it is judged that it can be used for quantitative evaluation to establish an agricultural water supply plan.

경사 위어의 유량계수 산정에 대한 연구 (Study on Estimation for Discharge Coefficient of Diagonal Weir)

  • 본 연구에서는 수리모형실험을 이용하여 경사 위어의 수리특성을 분석하였으며, 설계조건을 다양하게 고려 할 수 있도록 다중회귀분석을 통해 유량계수식을 제시하였다. 또한, 제시된 유량계수식을 이용하여 경사 위어의 효과적인 설계에 기여하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 경사 위어는 전폭 위어보다 상류 수면형이 일정 하였으며, 경사 위어 설치각이 증가할수록 수심 유지 효과가 컸다. 이러한 결과로, 전폭 위어보다 마루길이가 증가한 경사 위어는 상류 수위를 일정하게 유지시켜 운하 시스템에 효과적으로 이용 가능할 것이다. 단순회귀분석에 의해 제시된 유량계수식은 적용성이 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 각도에 따른 산정에 제약성을 가졌다. 그러므로, 다양한 각도에 대해 직접적으로 유량계수를 산정하기 위해, 다중회귀분석에 의한 유량계수식을 제시하였다. 제시된 식은 결정계수($R^2$), 잔차의 합, MAPE 분석을 통해 검증 하였으며, 경사 위어의 설계에 적용 가능 할 것이다.

Clinical Features of Otomycosis Co-occurring with Chronic Otitis Media and the Causative Fungi

  • Background: Otomycosis is a fungal infection that comprises 7~10% of outer ear infections. Although the occurrence is higher in humid climates, relatively few studies have investigated otomycosis occurrences in humid environments. While recurrent chronic otitis media discharge in the ear creates a milieu in which otomycosis is likely to occur, investigations of otomycosis co-occurring with chronic otitis media have been rare. Objective: To examine the characteristics of patients with otomycosis co-occurring with chronic otitis media and identify causative fungi. Methods: The study included 60 patients with chronic otitis media who presented typical otomycosis findings in the outer ear canal and the presence of fungi. Patients were treated in the department of otolaryngology, Daegu Catholic University Medical Center, between July 2011 and June 2018. Results: The mean patient age was 57.77 years, and our study included 20 men and 40 women (p=0.010). The lesion was on the right in 39 patients and on the left in 21 (p=0.020). Ear discharge was the most common chief complaint at diagnosis. Of the 54 patients over age 19, 10 had diabetes (18.5%). Aspergillus was causative in 29 patients and Candida in 31. Aspergillus niger was identified in 15 patients, Aspergillus sp. in 14, Candida parapsilosis in 12, Candida sp. in six, and Candida albicans in five. Conclusion: Otomycosis and chronic otitis media co-occurrences increase with age. The Aspergillus and Candida genera were similar in proportion. A. niger was the most common Aspergillus species, while C. parapsilosis was the most common Candida.

Estimating the rating curve of irrigation canals in the Cheongju Sindae area

  • As the frequency and intensity of heavy rains increase, the vulnerability of agriculture to disasters also increases. Consequently, there is a need to improve flood and inundation predictions. To enhance the accuracy of inundation predictions, it is essential to monitor water level and discharge data within agricultural areas. This study was conducted to monitor water levels and rainfall in the Cheongju Sindae area from 2022 to 2023, and the data was utilized as input and validation data for agricultural inundation modeling. Four irrigation drainage canals were installed to a square-shaped concrete structure where the water level gauge is. It was then confirmed that the water level rises with rainfall. The flow velocities were monitored during periods of heavy rainfall. The rating curve, which estimates water level and flow velocity based on observations, was estimated using the software K-HQ. The resulting curve was presented with the Coefficient of Determination (R2). K-HQ was also used to calculate the equation for the rating curve, taking outliers into account at each data point. Outliers were extracted and the rating curve was recalculated. As the coefficient of determination of three out of four stations exceeded 0.95, the estimated rating curve may be considered reliable for discharge estimation. This study provides critical data for enhancing agricultural inundation modeling accuracy and drainage improvement projects.

An aural myiasis case in a 54-year-old male farmer in Korea

  • A 54-year-old male farmer residing in Chunchon, Korea. complaining of blood tinged discharge and tinnitus in the left ear for two days. was examined in August 16, 1996. Otoscopic examination revealed live maggots from the ear canal. The patient did not complain of any symptoms after removal of maggots. Five maggots recovered were identified as the third stage larvae of Lucilia sericata (Diptera: Calliphoridae). This is the first record of aural myiasis in Korea.

  • 골종은 1586년 Veiga에 의해 처음 기술되었는데 그 원인에 대해서는 아직 학설로 남아 있는 상태이다. 진성의 골종은 주로 유양돌기나 측두골에서 나타나지만, 그 예가 비교적 희귀하다고 하겠다. 이 골증은 양성으로서 서서히 커지며 성숙된 골세포에 의하여 구성된 경우가 대부분이다. 치료는 환자에게 증상이 나타날 때 그 적응이 된다. 저자들은 우측 측두골의 골종으로 약 18년간 이후부의 계속적인 종창, 골부 외이도의 폐쇄, 농성이루 및 청력감소를 초래한 환자를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다.
