A new gerbera cultivar 'Noble Pink' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2009. A cross was made between 'Himalaya' with white and semi-double and 'Vital' with pastel cream and single in 2006. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2006 to 2009), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. 'Noble Pink' is a vigorous cultivar with pastel pink flower color (RHS R48B), brilliant green disc floret and semi-double. The average flower diameter is 11.8 cm, large flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 4.77 cm and 2.17 cm, respectively. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of cut flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that 'Noble Pink' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farmers-income.

Explants of button daisy were screened for their regeneration potential and transient GUS gene expression. Medium containing MS salts minerals and $B_5$ vitamins supplemented with $0.1\;\cal{mg/L}$ BA and $0.1\;\cal{mg/L}$ TDZ showed the best regeneration. Disc florets and receptacles were the most responsive explants in regeneration and transient gene expression respectively. Regenerated plants were successfully rooted and established in the green-house conditions. Infection and co-cultivation of explants with Agrobacterium tumefaciens containing pCAMBIA 1301 resulted in transient GUS foci. Among the different explants, receptacles showed the highest percentage of transient GUS gene expression. Enzymatic and molecular analyses of transformed calli confirmed the integration of GUS gene.

A cross was made between "Royal" with orange and single and 'Himalaya' with white and semi-double in 2004. After investigation of the characteristics for 4 years (from 2004 to 2007), it was selected specially for the use of cut-flower. "Pink Swan" is a vigorous medium-sized cultivar with pink (RHS R48D), yellow green center and semi-double. The average flower diameter is 10.6 cm. And inner ray floret and disc diameter is 5.99cm and 1.83cm, respectively. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that "Pink Swan" has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivar and increasing farmers-income.

A cross was made between 'Gold Finger' with yellow and single and 'Yellow Springs' with yellow and spider in 2004. After investigation of the characteristics for 4 years (from 2004 to 2007), it was selected specially for the use of cut-flower. 'Yellow Wing' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow (RHS YO14B), green center and spider type. The flower diameter is 10.6cm. And inner ray floret and disc diameter is 2.83cm and 2.03cm, respectively. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of flowers and has adequate peduncle height and brilliant color. We believe that 'Yellow Wing' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivar and increasing farmers-income.

A new gerbera (Gerbera hybrid Hort.) 'Azalin' was bred by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2009. 'Basic' and 'Rosabella' which had pink color and semi-double flower were crossed in 2006. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2006 to 2009), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. The 'Azalin' had brilliant pink color (RHS RP68A) with green disc center. The flower was semi-double and 10.6 cm in diameter. It had a thick peduncle of which upper and lower width were 3.7 mm and 5.5 mm, respectively. The average days to first flowering of 'Azalin', 88.5 days, was approximately 8.7 days earlier than the control cultivar. And its average yield, 55.8 stems per plant, was also 7.4 stems per plants more than the control cultivar.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Whiteny' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2009. A cross was made between 'Wonder King' with white semi-double and 'Ever Green' with pale greenish white and semi-double in 2007. After evaluation of the characteristics for four years (from 2007 to 2010), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. The 'Whiteny' cultivar has pure white color (RHS W155D) with black disc center and semi-double flower. The average flower diameter is 11.5 cm, large-sized flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 7.8 cm and 2.2 cm, respectively. It has a long peduncle height, 52.2 cm, and longer vase life, 12.1 days. And it is also adaptable to the local cultural environment of Korea. It is expected that if the 'Whiteny' cultivar is planted, the royalty paid to foreign varieties can be saved. And the local growers will also be benefitted since the cost of cultivars will be lower than the imported ones.

And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 8.10 cm and 2.80 cm, respectively. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that "Red Line" has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farmers-income.

And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 6.10 cm and 2.80 cm, respectively. It produces a large number of flowers with continuous supply of flowers and has a long peduncle height. We believe that 'Lovely Moon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farm income.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Sunny Lemon' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science (NIHHS) in 2009. A cross was made between 'Pavlov' and 'Patrick' with pink and semi-double in 2006. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2006 to 2009), it was selected for the use of cut flower. 'Sunny Lemon' is a vigorous cultivar with yellow flower color (RHS Y9C), brown center and semi-double. The average flower diameter is 11.0 cm. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 7.63 cm and 2.59 cm, respectively. Days to first blooming are 84.5, approximately 2 weeks earlier than the standard cultivar. It produces a large yield with continuous supply of cut flowers and has adequate peduncle height. We believe that 'Sunny Lemon' has a great potential for expanding cultivated area of domestic gerbera cultivars and increasing farmers' income.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Ringgo' was bred by the 'Seohaenongsan' in 2013. 'Ma' with yellow and 'Caravan' with salmon orange, which have semi-double flower, were artificially crossed in 2010. After investigation of the characteristics for four years (from 2010 to 2013), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. The 'Ringgo' had brilliant orange color (RHS O24A) with dark brown center. The flower was semi-double and 11.1 cm in diameter. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 6.6 cm and 2.8 cm, respectively. It is a vigorous cultivar having a long and thick peduncle of which length and upper width were 54.7 cm and 4.6 mm, respectively. The vase life of 'Harmony' was 10.1 days, which was 1.2 days longer than the standard cultivar 'Dune'. And its average yield was 55.3 stems per plant, which were 6.6 stems more than the control.
