FACTS 기기를 이용한 전력시스템의 안전도 향상 (The Enhancement of Power System Security Using flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS))

  • This paper presents an operation scheme to enhance the power system security by applying FACTS on Power systems. Three main generic types of FACTS devices are suggested an illustrated. Flow congestions over lines have been solved by controlling active power of series-compensated FACTS devices and low voltages at buses have been solved by controlling reactive power of shunt-compensated FACTS devices. Especially, Especially, UPFC has been applied in both line congestion and low voltages. Two kinds of indices which indicate the power system security level related to line flow and bus voltage are utilized in this paper. They have been minimized to enhance the power system security level through the iterative method and the sensitivity vector of security index is derived to determine the direction to minimum. The proposed algorithm has been tested on the IEEE 57-bus system with FACTS devices in a normal condition and a line-faulted contingency.

모델 기반의 SVM을 이용한 시선 방향 추정 (Model based Gaze Direction Estimation Using Support Vector Machine)

  • 실내 환경에서 사람의 행동을 인식하는 시스템을 만들 때 사람의 의도를 파악하는 것은 중요한 정보가 될 수 있다. 사람의 시선방향은 의도를 파악하는데 있어서 깊은 관계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 실내 환경에서 사람의 시선 방향을 모델에 기반하여 추정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 머리 모델은 얼굴 영역과 머리카락 영역을 포함하는 두 개의 겹쳐진 타원으로 표현되고, 각 타원의 파라미터는 시선 방향을 추정하는 정보로 사용된다. 시선 방향은 SVM(Support Vector Machine) 알고리즘을 사용하여 8방향중 하나로 추정된다. 이미지에서 얼굴영역과 머리영역은 색상 정보에 의해 검출된다. 사무실 환경에서 시선방향을 다양하게 변화시켜 실험을 하였고, 이를 통해 성능 평가를 수행하였다.

평균-잔류신호 영상압축에 적용된 유한 상태 투영벡터양자화 (Finite-state projection vector quantization applied to mean-residual compression of images)

  • This paper proposes an image compression algorithm that adopts projection scheme on mean-residual metod. Sub-blocks of an image are encoded using mean-residual method where mean value is predicted according to that of neighboring blocks. Projection scheme with 8 directions is applied to the compression of residual signals of blocks. Projection vectors are finite-state vector quantized according to the projection angle of nighboring blocks in order to exploit the correlation among them. Side information to represent the repetition of projection is run-length coded while the information for projection direction is compressed using entropy encoding. The proposed scheme apears to be better in PSNR performance when compared with conventional projection scheme as well as in subjective quality preserving the edges of images better than most tranform methods which usually require heavy computation load.

  • 추진기관의 추력 방향을 조절하기 위해 널리 적용되고 있는 flexible seal 노즐에서, 노즐의 회전 중심인 유효 피봇의 위치 변화가 노즐의 구동성능에 미치는 영향을 컴퓨터를 이용한 수치실험으로 분석하였다. 실험 조건은 two-level factorial design ($2^3$-Design)의 실험계획으로 결정하고, 실험은 범용 동력학 해석 프로그램인 ADAMS를 적용하였다. 해석결과, 유효 피봇의 반경 방향 위치 변화가 축 방향 위치 변화보다 구동성능에 미치는 영향이 컸으며, 유효 피봇의 위치 변화가 구동 성능에 미치는 영향은 구동방식에 크게 영향을 받음을 확인하였다.

Investigation on electromagnetothermoelastic interaction of functionally graded piezoelectric hollow spheres

  • An analytical method is presented to investigate electromagnetothermoelastic behaviors of a hollow sphere composed of functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM), placed in a uniform magnetic field, subjected to electric, thermal and mechanical loads. For the case that material properties obey an identical power law in the radial direction of the FGPM hollow sphere, exact solutions for electric displacement, stresses, electric potential and perturbation of magnetic field vector in the FGPM hollow sphere are determined by using the infinitesimal theory of electromagnetothermoelasticity. Some useful discussion and numerical examples are presented to show the significant influence of material inhomogeneity. The aim of this research is to understand the effect of composition on electromagnetothermoelastic stresses and to design optimum FGPM hollow spheres.

실용적인 스텝크기 선택 알고리듬을 고려한 연속조류계산 시스템의 개발 (The Improvement of Continuation Power Flow System Including the Algorithm of Practical Step Length Selection)

  • Continuation power flow has been developed to remove the ill-condition problem caused by singularity of power flow Jacobian at and near at steady-state voltage instability point in conventional power flow. Continuation power flow consists of predictor and corrector. In prddictor, the direction vector at the resent solution is caluculated and the initial guess of next solution is determined at the distance of step length. The selection of step length is a very important part, since computational speed and convergence performance are both greatly affected by the choice of the step length. This paper presents the practical step length selection algorithm using the reactive power generation sensitivith. In numulation, the proposed algorithm is compared with step length selection algorithm using TVI(tangent vector index).

  • Nowadays, Spoken Dialogue System is rapidly growing by investing a lot from researches as well as organizations. One of concrete evidences is that the appearance of commercial systems such as Siri, SVoice, DARPA, CLASSiC, GSearch etc. Moreover, Spoken Dialogue System is widely believed to be the future direction of software development. In Spoken Dialogue System, users interact to software by using their own voice instead of use their hands, keyboard, and mouse. This paper continuously presents our development of the Spoken Dialogue System on News. Particularly, we propose detailed design such as semantic concepts, semantic frames, slots, and so on for applying Hidden Vector State Model into our Spoken Dialogue System for Spoken Language Understanding.

Emergency Signal Detection based on Arm Gesture by Motion Vector Tracking in Face Area

  • This paper presents a method for detection of an emergency signal expressed by arm gestures based on motion segmentation and face area detection in the surveillance system. The important indicators of emergency can be arm gestures and voice. We define an emergency signal as the 'Help Me' arm gestures in a rectangle around the face. The 'Help Me' arm gestures are detected by tracking changes in the direction of the horizontal motion vectors of left and right arms. The experimental results show that the proposed method successfully detects 'Help Me' emergency signal for a single person and distinguishes it from other similar arm gestures such as hand waving for 'Bye' and stretching. The proposed method can be used effectively in situations where people can't speak, and there is a language or voice disability.

  • Let M be a semi-invariant submanifold with almost contact metric structure (𝜙, 𝜉, 𝜂, g) of codimension 3 in a complex space form Mn+1(c), c≠ 0. We denote by S and R𝜉 be the Ricci tensor of M and the structure Jacobi operator in the direction of the structure vector 𝜉, respectively. Suppose that the third fundamental form t satisfies dt(X, Y) = 2𝜃g(𝜙X, Y) for a certain scalar 𝜃(≠ 2c) and any vector fields X and Y on M. In this paper, we prove that M satisfies R𝜉S = SR𝜉 and at the same time R𝜉𝜙 = 𝜙R𝜉, then M is a Hopf hypersurface of type (A) provided that the scalar curvature s of M holds s - 2(n - 1)c ≤ 0.
