The environmental and geotechnical properties are investigated to the 8th landfill area made of only sewage sludge in Nanji-Do. To do this, the soils are sampled in this area, and leaching tests, heavy metal content tests, and so on are performed to research the environmental properties. As the result of heavy metal content tests, Pb, Zn, Cu, Ni, Cd and Cr were leached from the sewage sludge. Because the leaching concentration of Cu is more than the standard value of California state, Cu content have to bring down during the recycling of the sewage sludge. Meanwhile, a series of tests concerning specific gravity, liquid and plastic limits, compaction, permeability and shear strength is performed to research the geotechnical properties. The sewage sludge is consisted of sand, silt and clay, and is classified into non-organic silt or organic clay with 42.3% of plastic index. As the result of compaction test, it is expected that the compaction effect according to variation of water contents is low relatively because the dry unit weight is low and the curve of compaction forms flatness. Also, as the result of direct shear tests, the cohesion is $0.058kg/cm^2$, and the internal friction angle is $14^{\circ}$. Taking everything into consideration, the various problems are happening in case of recycling the sludge like the cover layer of landfill and so on because the compaction is bad, and the shear strength is low. Also, it is expected that the ground water pollution caused by leaching the heavy metal into the sludge. To do recycling the sewage sludge in this site, supplementary and treatment programs should be prepared.
Previously, studies on compensation material to increase the signal intensity have been conducted which does not affect the reading of images. However, the compensation material has a concern on patient infection as it is attached directly on the skin. Therefore, in this study, we tested an indirect attachment of the compensation material as an alternative method of the direct attachment. The silicon compensation material was fabricated in the form of a cylindrical bar and attached to each element of the 8 channel head coil. Then the signal intensities of the water phantom pre and post application of the silicon were measured. T1 and T2-weighted images were acquired using an 8-channel head coil and a 3.0T superconducting MRI. Signal intensities were measured by using an image measuring program. Paired t-test was used to verify if there were significant differences. The signal intensity before application of the silicon was significantly increased by 3.39% and 2.62% in T1 and T2 weighted images, respectively. Although the indirect attachment method had a limitation to completely replace the existing method, it was considered to be useful in patients with infectious diseases such as diabetic complications since it had a meaningful improvement in signal intensity based on the filling factor increase.
Oriental medicine as a candidate for effective cancer treatment recently gain positive concerns in fields of therapeutic oncology. that is why some herbal medicines have been empirically safer in toxicity than anticancer drugs used in western medicine, and to show excellent therapeutic efficacy in human trial. Thus, these effects by clinically applied-herbs have not yet fully demonstrated in experimental tumor model. This study was initiated to evaluate the antitumor effect of Insambaekhaptang as candidate of antitumor-herbal agent against B16 melanoma metastasized into C57BL/6 mice lung. In experiment to test whether Insambaekhaptang can directly kill cancer cells in vitro or not, Insambaekhaptang showed direct killing action in concentration or higher against B16 melanoma cells using MTT assay, and showed lower IC50. Another experiment to know whether Insambaekhaptang can inhibit growth and metastasis of cancer cell or not, Insambaekhaptang significantly inhibited Solid tumor by intraperiperal injected-melanoma and lung metastasis induced by intravenous injected-melanoma in inbred C57BL/6 mice. When quantitative survival time increasing, we could obtain results that increased 113% in treated by Insambaekhaptang. These results show that Insambaekhaptang can inhibit growth of B16 melanoma cells through various biological mechanisms.
A total of 2,280 nonduplicate clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, obtained nationwide from Korean non-tertiary care hospitals from 2002 to 2005, were identified and their susceptibilities to aminoglycosides, antipseudomonal penicillins, carbapenems, cephalosporins, monobactams, and quinolones were studied, together with their production of ${\beta}$-lactamases. Using disk diffusion and minimum inhibitory concentration tests, it was found that 2.9% of isolates were multidrug-resistant (MDR) P. aeruginosa. An EDTA-disk synergy test, PCR amplification with specifically designed primers, and direct sequencing of the PCR products showed that the $bla_{OXA-10}$, $bla_{VIM-2}$, $bla_{OXA-2}$, $bla_{OXA-17}$, $bla_{PER-1}$, $bla_{SHV-12}$, and $bla_{IMP-1}$ genes were carried by 34.3%, 26.9%, 3.0%,3.0%, 1.5%, 1.5%, and 1.5% of 67 MDR P. aeruginosa isolates, respectively. The prevalence of MDR P. aeruginosa was three-fold higher, compared with that from the United States. More than two types of ${\beta}$-lactamase genes were carried by 10.4% of isolates. The most prevalent ${\beta}$-lactamase genes were $bla_{VIM-2}$ and $bla_{OXA-10}$. This study is the first description of MDR P. aeruginosa trom non-tertiary care hospitals in Korea and the coexistence of the $bla_{VIM-2}$, $bla_{IMP-1}$, or $bla_{PER-1} in these clinical isolates.
To improve the solubility of poorly water-soluble drug and to develop a sustained release tablets, the need for the technique, the formation of solid dispersion with polymeric materials that can potentially enhance the dissolution rate and extent of drug absorption was considered in this study. The 1:1, 1:4, and 1:5 solid dispersions were prepared by spray drying method using PVP K30, ethanol and methylene chloride. The dissolution test was carried out at in phosphate buffer solution at $37^{\circ}C$ in 100 rpm. Solid dispersed drugs were examined using differential scanning calorimetry and scanning electron microscopy, wherein it was found that felodipine is amorphous in the PVP K30 solid dispersion. Felodifine SR tablets were prepared by direct compressing the powder mixture composed of solid dispersed felodipine, lactose, Eudragit and magnesium stearate using a single punch press. In order to develop a sustained-release preparation containing solid dispersed felodipine, a comparative dissolution study was done using commercially existing product as control. The dissolution rate of intact felodipine, solid dispersed felodipine and its physical mixture, respectively, were compared by the dissolution rates for 30 minutes. The dissolution rates of felodipine for 30 minutes from 1:1, 1:4, 1:5 PVP K30 solid dispersion were 70%, 78% and 90%. However, dissolution rate offelodipine from the physical mixture was 5% of drug for 30 minutes. Our developed product Felodipine SR Tablet showed dissolution of 17%, 50% and 89% for 1, 4, and 7 hours. This designed oral delivery system is easy to manufacture, and drug releases behavior is highly reproducible and offers advantages over the existing commercial product. The dissolution rate of felodipine was significantly enhanced, following the formation of solid dispersion. The solid dispersion technique with water-soluble polymer could be used to develop a solid dispersed felodipine SR tablet.
Epinastine is an antiallergic drug effective for bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, urticaria and dermatitis. Epinastine is topically active, direct H1-receptor antagonist and an inhibitor of the release of histamine from the mast cell. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two epinastine hydrochloride tablets, Alesion Tablet (Boehringer Ingelheim Korea Ltd.) and S-napine tablet 10 mg(Sam Chun Dang Pharm. Co., Ltd), according to the guidelines of the Korea Food and Drug Administration(KFDA). The release of epinastine from the two epinastine formulations in vitro was tested using KP VIII Apparatus II method with various dissolution media(pH 1.2, 4.0, 6.8 buffer solution and water). Twenty six healthy male subjects, $23.35{\pm}1.57$ years in age and $66.29{\pm}10.61kg$ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After two tablets containing 20 mg as epinastine hydrochloride was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentrations of epinastine in serum were determined using HPLC with UV detector. The dissolution profiles of two formulations were similar at all dissolution media. In addition, the pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t.\;C_{max}$ and untransformed $T_{max}$. The results showed that the differences between two formulations based on the reference drug, Alesion tablet, were 1.50, 1.46 and -13.48% for $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$, respectively. There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of log 0.8 to log 1.25(e.g., log 0.95$\sim$log 1.12 and log 0.93$\sim$log 1.10 for $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$, respectively). Thus, the criteria of the KFDA bioequivalence guideline were satisfied, indicating S-napine tablet 10 mg was bioequivalent to Alesion tablet.
Modern artworks are constructed using a variety of materials and techniques. Sculptures, which predominantly consist of metals, usually have different shapes and consist of different material mixtures. The structural and material properties of these sculptures are often controlled by conservation treatment methods. However, the application of existing treatment methods is challenging at times, indicating that more diverse treatment materials and techniques are necessary. Therefore, in this study, a treatment method that employs volatile corrosion inhibitor(VCI) powder, rather than an anti-corrosion solution, for the conservation and management of metal artworks was used. VCI powder and VCI films containing VCI powder were used, and the results obtained confirmed that both of them showed anti-corrosion effect. Only a slight change in the chromaticity of metal samples was observed, and compared to the untreated samples, the application of the VCI powder resulted in a decrease in the rate of corrosion by half. Moreover, VCI film tests revealed that comparing to the untreated or polyethylene film-treated samples, VCI film treatment resulted in a decrease in the occurrence of corrosion compounds. The contact angle, surface energy, and surface electrical resistance were measured, and the evaluation of these surface properties established the anti-corrosion effect of VCI. Additionally, direct application of VCI and VCI films on actual sculptures further confirmed the anti-corrosion effect of VCI.

This study was conducted to construct and test structural equation modeling of the causal relationship of job satisfaction of nursing staff with satisfaction, revisit intention and recommendation of the hospital by patients. The data utilized in this study were the second data acquired from the 2012 Public Hospital Evaluation Programme. The subjects of this study were 2,375 nursing staff and 3,433 patients at 39 district public hospitals. The instrument of job satisfaction of nursing staff consisted of five factors and 13 items. The instruments of satisfaction, revisit intention, and recommendation to others of patients consisted of one question on an 11 point scale (0: very negative, 10: very positive). The data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 and AMOS version 20.0. Model fit indices for the hypothetical model were suitable for the recommended level: model of in-patient ${\chi}^2$ 904.598 (df=81, p<0.001), GFI 0.938, AGFI 0.900, RMSR 0.076, mode of out-patient ${\chi}^2$ 869.021(df=81, p<0.001), GFI 0.940, AGFI 0.900, RMSR 0.074. In conclusion, nursing staff are the largest group in public hospitals, and they provide direct care to patients. Therefore, job satisfaction of nursing staff should be enhanced to improve satisfaction of patients because their attitude significantly influences patient satisfaction.
Although a hand haptic interaction which provides direct and natural sensation is the most natural way of interacting with VR environment, the hand haptic interaction has still limitations with respect to the complexity of articulated hand and related hardware capabilities. Particularly, virtual assembly simulation which refers to the verification process of digital mockup in product development lifecycle is one of the most challenging topics in virtual reality applications. However, hand haptic interaction is considered as a big obstacle, because difficulty initial grasping and non-dextrous manipulation remain as unsolved problems. In this paper, we propose that common hand haptic interactions involves two separate stages with different aspects. We present the hand haptic interaction method enables us to stably grasp a virtual object at initial grasping and delicately manipulate an object at task operating by one's intention. Therefore, proposed method provides the robustness using grasping quality and dextrous manipulation using physically simulation. We conducted experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed method under different display environments -monoscopic and stereoscopic. From 2-way ANOVA test, we show that the proposed method satisfies two aspects of hand haptic interaction. Finally, we demonstrated an actual application of various assembly simulation for relatively complex models.
The present study was undertaken to investigate the effects of PVP concentration and exposure temperature to vitrification solution on the post-thaw survival, in vitro maturation and development of immature bovine oocytes (germinal vesicle stage). The vitrification solution (VS) consisted of 40% ethylene glycol (EG)+0.5 M sucrose (S)+10% FBS. PVP was added to VS: 0%, 5% or 10%. The cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were diluted in VS as one step, after 2 min the COCs were loaded in straw and vitrified by direct immersion into liquid nitrogen. For thawing, the straws were plunged into $30^{\circ}C$ water bath for 10s. After thawing, the oocytes were diluted in 0.5 M (in DPBS with 10% FBS) sucrose solution for 5 min. The survival rate (FDA-test and trypan blue) of immature bovine oocytes was measured. The survival rate was higher in 5% PVP (91.5%) than in 0% (64.2%) or in 10% PVP (79.7%). The proportion of metaphase II formation was 69.35% in control (no vitrified COCs), 9.3% in 40% EG+0.5 M S+0% PVP and 21.05% in 40% EG+0.5 M S+5% PVP (p<0.05). The effect of room temperature ($25^{\circ}C$ for 10 min) and cold temperature ($4^{\circ}C$ for 10 min) on COCs were determined in this study. After IVF, the cleavage and blastocysts rate of oocytes exposed to room temperature and cold temperature in VS+5% PVP was significantly different (2 cell: 63.20% vs 37.97%, blastocysts: 18.40% vs 2.53%). The cleavage rates of frozen-thawed oocytes were 20.53% with PVP and 22.13% without PVP (p>0.05). Two out of 151 oocytes (1.32%) developed to blastocyst stage after frozen-thawed with 5% PVP (p>0.05). Development of oocytes after frozen-thawing to the 2 cell were not significantly affected with or without PVP following IVF. However, the vitrification of immature bovine oocytes with PVP maintained the ability to develop to the blastocyst stage after IVM-IVF and IVC, while no blastocysts were obtained from oocytes vitrified without PVP. These results suggested that PVP has a protective role for vitrification of immature bovine oocytes as far as survival is concerned, however, the protection was not sufficient enough to support blastocyst formation.
