In order to assess the feasibility of the dipole-dipole electric method to the investigation of metallic ore deposit, both field data simulation and inversion are carried out for several simplified ore deposit models. Our interest is in a vein-type model, because most of the ore deposits (more than 70%) exist in a vein type in Korea. Based on the fact that the width of the vein-type ore deposits ranges from tens of centimeters to 2m, we change the width and the material property of the vein, and we use 40m-electrode spacing for our test. For the vein-type model with too small width, the low resistivity zone is not detected, even though the resistivity of the vein amounts to 1/300 of that of the surrounding rock. Considering a wide electrode interval and cell size used in the inversion, it is natural that the size of the low resistivity zone is overestimated. We also perform field data simulation and inversion for a vein-type model with surrounding hydrothermal alteration zones, which is a typical structure in an epithermal ore deposits. In the model, the material properties are assumed on the basis of resistivity values directly observed in a mine originated from an epithermal ore deposits. From this simulation, we can also note that the high resistivity value of the vein does not affect the results when the width of the vein is narrow. This indicates that our main target should be surrounding hydrothermal alteration zones rather than veins in field survey. From these results, we can summarize that when the vein is placed at the deep part and the difference of resistivity values between the vein and the surrounding rock is not large enough, we cannot detect low resistivity zone and interpret the subsurface structures incorrectly using the electric method performed at the surface. Although this work is a little simple, it can be used as references for field survey design and field data Interpretation. If we perform field data simulation and inversion for a number of models and provide some references, they will be helpful in real field survey and interpretation.

This paper describes a design for the circularly polarized microstrip EMC cross dipole array antenna with the wide bandwidth. To realize the characteristics of wide bandwidth and circular polarization, the electromagnetic-coupled cross dipole element is proposed. The optimum design parameters of a circularly polarized EMC cross dipole element are calculated by the FDTD and the Ensemble. To obtain the uniform aperture illumination of electric field in an array, offset technique that the cross dipole elements are alternatively arranged on center of the microstrip feed line is adopted. In 20-element array design, the calculated axial ratio and gain are about 0.1dB and 9.9 dBi at 12 GHz, respectively, The frequency characteristics of a fabricated 20-element array antenna are measured. The calculated results agree well with the measured ones.

The relaxation behavior of aligned electric dipoles in a mixed polymer of P2ANS with P(VDF-TrFE) is studied with optical second harmonic generation (SHG). In this work, a macroscopic noncentrosymmetry of the spin coated film was achieved by an electrical poling. The relaxation of induced polar order of nonlinear optic(NLO) chromophores after poling leads to an insufficient long-term stability of NLO properties. In this work, we develop a new technique to suppress such kind of dipole relaxation in a poled polymer. We found that the poled dipoles in a NLO polymer were effectively immobilized by the internal electric field created by a thermally annealed ferroelectric polymer. The long-term stability in a mixed system of NLO polymer/ferroelectric polymer was successively accomplished by a series of thermal treatments applied to the mixed polymer system at a temperature of $140^{\circ}C$ for at least 1hour after poling.

The more sophisticated patterns of propagation model is presented in this paper, which includes three different source characteristics. The spherical, cosine and dipole radiation characteristics compared and sound event level and the maximum sound level are calculated by experiment and calculation. It is shown that patterns of propagation has dipole characteristics for low speed range(below about 150km/h) at electric multiple system. We know that push-pull high speed system(maximum speed: 300km/h) has cosine characteristics of noise propagation. For this purpose, We conduct the experiment of noise and know the empirical formula of noise level and radiation coefficient K. This model of simulation is conducted through point source array model at wheel/rail contact point by using program and experimental formula. We can guess prediction of profile, flat and wear of wheel by above modeling in near field.
This study comprehensively reviewed four types of integrated-optic electric-field sensors based on titanium diffused lithium-niobate waveguides: symmetric and asymmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometers, 1×2 directional couplers, and Y-fed balanced-bridge Mach-Zehnder interferometers. First, we briefly explain the crystal properties and electro-optic effect of lithium niobate and the waveguide fabrication process. We theoretically analyzed the key parameters and operating principles of each sensor and antennas. We also describe and compare the design, simulation, implementation, and performance tests: dc and ac characteristics, frequency response, dynamic range, and sensitivity. The experimental results revealed that the sensitivity of the sensor based on the Y-fed balanced bridge Mach-Zehnder interferometer (YBB-MZI) was higher than that of the other types of sensors.

We demonstrate the first separation of neutral molecules using optical forces. Unlike laser atomic cooling or optical tweezers, optical separation technique requires the manipulation of only one component of the molecular motion. Thus the mixtures can be separated, in principle, with less complex schemes. When an Intense nonresonant laser beam is focused onto a beam of molecules, the interaction between the laser electric field and the induced dipole moment of a molecule invokes a mechanical force on the molecule proportional to the field gradient and the molecular polarizability ($\alpha$) to mass (m) ratio $\alpha$/m. Graphene field-effect transistors (GFET) is one of candidates for future high speed electronic devices since graphene has unique electronic properties such as high Fermi velocity (vf=10^6 m/s) and carrier mobility ($15,000cm^2/V{\cdot}s$) [1]. Although the contact property between graphene and metals is a crucial element to design high performance electronic devices, it has not been clearly identified. Therefore, we need to understand characteristics of graphene/metal contact in the GFET. Recently, it is theoretically known that graphene on metal can be doped by presence of interface dipole layer induced by charge transfer [2]. It notes that doping type of graphene under metal is determined by difference of work function between graphene and metal. In this study, we present the GFET fabricated by contact metals having high work function (Pt, Ni) for p-doping and low work function (Ta, Cr) for n-doping. The results show that asymmetric conductance depends on work function of metal because the interfacial dipole is locally formed between metal electrodes and graphene. It induces p-n-p or n-p-n junction in the channel of the GFET when gate bias is applied. In addition, we confirm that charge transfer regions are differently affected by gate electric field along gate length.
Geophysical methods applied to water seepage problem in earth-fill embankment attempt to detect and map the estimate of size and depth of the seepage path. Seepage zones generally produce lOW resistivity anomalies due to high saturation of water. Dipole-dipole resistivity surveying technique, which is actually a combined sounding-profiling procedure, was used to delineate the seepage path through this study. In this study, the finite difference methods to solve the electric potential distribution in 2 112 dimension, was adopted as the numerical scheme for the forward problem. Second order Marquart's method, one the iterative damped least square methods, was selected for the automatic inversion. The computer program was implemented in FORTRAN 77 for 1 6-bit personal computer. In this paper, we present a case history which illustrates the application of dipole-dipole resistivity method to the delineation of water flow in earth-fill structures. Also the automatic two-dimensional resistivity inversion was applied to a field data where the interpretive advantages of the program become evident.

We present a quantitative analysis of a dipole antenna and its characteristics from the viewpoint of quantum mechanics. The method makes use of a Maxwell equation used in an existing antenna propagation formula. This includes radiation resistance, input reactance, and antenna efficiency as functions of frequency and antenna length. Particular attention is paid to the Schr$\ddot{o}$odinger equation. We accomplish E-field and H-field analyses of a dipole antenna by combining the Maxwell and Schr$\ddot{o}$odinger wave equations. When comparing the existing Maxwell wave equation with the Schr$\ddot{o}$odinger wave equation, quantum-electric movement is more accurate than using the Maxwell wave equation alone.
The use of an asymmetric Mach-Zehnder interferometric amplitude modulator to measure a relatively low frequency electric field strength is described. The sensitivity of an electric field sensor using a $Ti:LiMbO_3$ optical modulator is strongly affected by the shape of a electrode(probe antenna). To measure the low frequency electric field, a probe antenna of wide effective area is more useful than the usual dipole antenna. As a proof of this, the optical modulator was fabricated with a plate-type probe antenna and the usefulness of this antenna tested for measuring low frequency electric field strength. Measurements were performed in the range 0.1 V/cm to 60 V/cm at 60Hz through 100 kHz. Using a probe antenna of $10\;mm{\times}10\;mm$, the output voltage of $10^{-2}\;mV$ was measured with respect to the electric field strength of 0.1 V/cm at 60 Hz. By increasing the effective area of the probe antenna, better sensitivity is obtainable over the measured range.
