중력 가속도 실험을 위한 시간 측정 시스템 개발 (Development of Time Measure System for Acceleration of Gravity Experiment)

  • This study is to develop a time measure system for acceleration of gravity verification. The system can measure time interval between two points when an object passes through the points. The system has 1${\mu}$sec time resolution. The AT90S8515 microprocessor, product of ATMEL. can make 1${\mu}$sec time resolution possible connected with the 8 MHz fine crystal oscillator. The two external signals called 'start' and 'stop' have AT90S8515 that counted time intervals of the two signals. Sensors are composed of the IR beam emitting diode. TNL108 and the IR beam receiving photo diode, TNL601, produced by NEC company. In order to acquire the measurement of exactitude of the system, measure the pendulum period. Experimental result, the average period =3.0406sec with pendulum length of 2.314m. The acceleration of gravity g=$908821{\pm}6.416{\times}1^{-4}m/s^2$.

Spiral 공진기를 이용한 저위상 잡음 전압 제어 발진기 (Low Phase Noise VCO Using Spiral Resonator)

  • 본 논문에서는 위상잡음 특성을 개선하기 위하여 spiral 공진기를 이용한 전압제어 발진기를 제안하였다. Spiral 공진기는 작은 면적, 저지대역에서 날카로운 스커트 특성과 낮은 삽입손실, 큰 결합 계수 값을 가지고 있고, 이로 인해 높은 Q 값을 가지며 전압 제어 발진기의 위상 잡음을 감소시킨다. 공진기의 Q 값이 높아짐에 따라 좁아지는 주파수 조절 범위를 높이기 위하여 버랙터 다이오드를 조절 가능한 부성저항에 연결하였다. 전압 제어발진기는 $5.686{\sim}5.841GHz$에서 발진이 일어났고, 출력은 11.83 dBm, 하모닉 특성은 -29.83 dBc, 위상 잡음 특성은 100 KHz offset에서 $-115.16{\sim}115.17dBc/Hz$이다.

Grid-Connected Dual Stator-Winding Induction Generator Wind Power System for Wide Wind Speed Ranges

  • This paper presents a grid-connected dual stator-winding induction generator (DWIG) wind power system suitable for wide wind speed ranges. The parallel connection via a unidirectional diode between dc buses of both stator-winding sides is employed in this DWIG system, which can output a high dc voltage over wide wind speed ranges. Grid-connected inverters (GCIs) do not require booster converters; hence, the efficiency of wind energy utilization increases, and the hardware topology and control strategy of GCIs are simplified. In view of the particularities of the parallel topology and the adopted generator control strategy, we propose a novel excitation-capacitor optimization solution to reduce the volume and weight of the static excitation controller. When this excitation-capacitor optimization is carried out, the maximum power tracking problem is also considered. All the problems are resolved with the combined control of the DWIG and GCI. Experimental results on the platform of a 37 kW/600 V prototype show that the proposed DWIG wind power system can output a constant dc voltage over wide rotor speed ranges for grid-connected operations and that the proposed excitation optimization scheme is effective.

손실이 있는 Left-Handed 전송선로를 이용한 감쇠기와 벡터 변조기 응용 (Attenuator using Lossy Left-Handed Transmission Line and Vector Modulator Application)

  • 본 논문은 메타 재질 구조를 바탕으로 한 가변 감쇠기와 그 응용에 대하여 기술 하였다. 손실이 존재하는 전송선로를 이용한 감쇠기 단위 셀은 CRLH(Composite Right/Left Handed) 전송선로와 다이오드 바이어스 전압에 따라서 내부 저항값의 변화에 따라서 손실을 제어할 수 있는 PIN다이오드로 구성되어 있다. 또한, 내부의 초기 삽입 손실을 줄이기 위해서 두 개의 PIN 다이오드를 병렬로 연결하였다. 이 감쇠기는 감쇠기 단위 셀 숫자를 증가시킴으로서 감쇠량을 증가시킬 수 있는 주기적 구조로 설계되었다. 단위 셀의 전기적 특성은 주파수 1.5 GHz ~ 2.5 GHz에서 10dB의 감쇠량과 최대 15o의 위상변화를 확인하였다. 이러한 특성의 감쇠기를 직렬로 연결하여 벡터 변조기에 응용하였다.

새로운 정류방식을 이용한 전기추진선박의 고조파 저감 (Harmonic Reduction of Electric Propulsion Ship using New Rectification Scheme)

  • 현재 대형선박에서 다이오드 정류기를 이용한 AC-DC 전력변환장치를 주로 사용하고 있으며 이는 총고조파왜형율을 줄이기 위하여 다중펄스를 출력할 수 있는 상치환변압기가 추가적으로 설치되어야 한다. 이 경우 상치환변압기의 설치로 인해 공간적, 경제적 손실이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 LNG 운반선 등과 같은 대형선박에서 현재 운용중인 다이오드 정류기를 대신하여 SCR, IGBT등의 소자를 이용하는 새로운 능동형 정류방식을 제안하여 저전압 전원의 이용이 가능하고 전력선 부하에 의해 발생하는 고조파 발생을 줄이며 또한, 기존의 방식에서 사용하는 상치환변압기를 제거하여 경제적인 이점도 얻고자 하였다. 현재 대형선박에서 운용중인 전기추진시스템에 제안한 시스템을 시뮬레이션 한 결과, 추진전동기 입력 전류 및 전압 파형에 포함된 총고조파왜형율이 개선됨을 나타내었다.

  • This paper focuses on the Current-Voltage concurrent control method devoted to the multiple LED (light-emitting diode) string driver. Isolated DC to DC converter with cascaded chopping switch is proposed for smart lighting system such as light with sensor or back light unit of display, which need to control the current of parallel connected multiple LED stings and regulate DC voltage for micro controller for brightness control. The proposed circuit regulates the current of parallel connected multiple LED strings and additional DC voltage output simultaneously. To verify the performance, experimental results are presented based on the prototype board. 5V, 1A voltage mode electric load and two LED strings with different forward voltages are used for output loads. 23W output power is achieved and measured efficiency is in the range of 85%-87%

DGS를 이용한 주파수 가변 DL-CRLH 전송선로 (A Frequency Adjustable Double Lorentz CRLH Transmission Line using DGS)

  • In this paper, a double lorentz composite right left handed(DL-CRLH) transmission line is designed using defected ground structure (DGS) and varactor diodes. Previously, the diode has been adopted only selectively for one of parallel or series resonators, and the balanced frequency as well as triple band frequencies were fixed. However in the proposed DL-CRLH transmission line, the balanced frequency, where the resonant frequencies of the series-connected parallel resonator and shunt-connected series resonator are the same, is adjustable. In addition, the triple band frequencies are controlled, too. The measured balanced frequency varies between 3.42~4.8GHz according to the controlled bias voltage. Under the same bias condition for the balanced frequency, the adjusted frequencies are 2.22~2.77GHz, 3.7~5.2GHz, 7.32~8.23GHz, 3.42~4.8GHz, and 4.44~5.92GHz for the conditions that ${\beta}d=+0.5{\pi}$, $-0.5{\pi}$, 2nd $+0.5{\pi}$, ${\omega}_{\infty}$, and ${\omega}_o$, respectively.

트위스티드 다이오드 연결 구조를 이용한 저전압 스윙 도미노 로직 (A New Small-Swing Domino Logic based on Twisted Diode Connections)

  • 본 논문에서는, 트위스티드 연결구조를 이용한 새로운 저전압 스윙 도미노 로직 회로를 제안한다. 제안된 회로의 출력스윙 범위는 트위스티드 트랜지스터의 사이즈와 출력 캐패시턴스의 크기에 따라 조절가능하다. 제안된 회로를 적용한 리플캐리덧셈기(Ripple Carry Adder)는 도미노 CMOS로직에 비해 전력소비는 37%감소했고 전력 지연 곱(power-delay product)은 43%감소했다.

Cascaded H-Bridge Five Level Inverter for Grid Connected PV System using PID Controller

  • Photovoltaic energy conversion becomes main focus of many researches due to its promising potential as source for future electricity and has many advantages than the other alternative energy sources like wind, solar, ocean, biomass, geothermal etc. In Photovoltaic power generation multilevel inverters play a vital role in power conversion. The three different topologies, diode-clamped (neutral-point clamped) inverter, capacitor-clamped (flying capacitor) inverter and cascaded h-bridge multilevel inverter are widely used in these multilevel inverters. Among the three topologies, cascaded h-bridge multilevel inverter is more suitable for photovoltaic applications since each pv array can act as a separate dc source for each h-bridge module. This paper presents a single phase Cascaded H-bridge five level inverter for grid-connected photovoltaic application using sinusoidal pulse width modulation technique. This inverter output voltage waveform reduces the harmonics in the generated current and the filtering effort at the input. The control strategy allows the independent control of each dc-link voltages and tracks the maximum power point of PV strings. This topology can inject to the grid sinusoidal input currents with unity power factor and achieves low harmonic distortion. A PID control algorithm is implemented in Arm Processor LPC2148. The validity of the proposed inverter is verified through simulation and is implemented in a single phase 100W prototype. The results of hardware are compared with simulation results. The proposed system offers improved performance over conventional three level inverter in terms of THD.

Dynamic characteristics between waves and a floating cylindrical body connected to a tension-leg mooring cable placed in a simulated offshore environment

  • Given the rapid progress made in understanding the dynamics of an offshore floating body in an ocean environment, the present study aimed to simulate ocean waves in a small-sized wave flume and to observe the motion of a cylindrical floating body placed in an offshore environment. To generate regular ocean waves in a wave flume, we combined a wave generator and a wave absorber. In addition, to precisely visualise the oscillation of the body, a set of light-emitting diode illuminators and a high-speed charge-coupled device camera were installed in the flume. This study also focuses on the spectral analysis of the movement of the floating body. The wave generator and absorbers worked well to simulate stable regular waves. In addition, the simulated waves agreed well with the plane waves predicted by shallow-water theory. As the period of the oncoming waves changed, the movement of the floating body was substantially different when tethered to a tension-leg mooring cable. In particular, when connected to the tension-leg mooring cable, the natural frequency of the floating body appeared suddenly at 0.391 Hz as the wave period increased.
