  • The use of digital signage in the public and commercial communication areas has been increasing in recent years. By integrating cutting-edge information technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, digital signage continues to break apart from traditional outdoor advertising media. This study identified the problems facing the domestic digital signage industry by exploring and analyzing major issues related to digital signage and derived future development measures. Specifically, online documents were collected based on the digital signage-related keywords created over the past 12 years to conduct big data network analysis, and key topics were derived through visualization of the results. This study has great policy implications in that it excluded biased interpretations based on the viewpoints of companies or the government and, more objectively, suggested the direction of the digital signage industry's development in the domestic media market.

  • Consumer innovativeness plays a vital role in explaining consumer dynamics, such as adoption, usage, and behavioral intention, in the new world of disruptive online media. This empirical study aimed to examine the importance of consumer innovativeness and digital literacy in the adoption and expansion of new technology-based media services, focusing on OTT services. Extending the theory of adoption of new technologies by innovators to new media environment centered on OTT services, it examines the influence of the four dimensions of motivated consumer innovativeness on OTT service usage. The Korea Media Panel Data of 2019, where overall ICT usage and media consumption of a broad panel of respondents was collected, was used for the analysis. From the data of 10,864 respondents, 4,031 (37.1%) were found to have experience in using OTT services. To clarify the mediating effect of digital literacy on the correlations between cognitive innovativeness of consumers and their use of OTT services, Process Macro Model 4 was used. The bootstrap method was applied to reveal that all four dimensions of consumer innovativeness have a significant indirect effect on new media usage through digital literacy, thus indicating how digital literacy plays an important role in the spread of new digital services in addition to consumer innovativeness. The findings are important in that they can help in the efforts to introduce new technologies to the public and educate them to improve their digital literacy so that they can enjoy the complete experience of using these new digital products.

  • Today, most of data storage devices use digital storage type. In this thesis, a new digital storage media called rainbow disk was introduced. It doesn't use 1-bit digital signal, but 2 or 4 bits digital signal using colors, so it can increase $2{\sim}4$ times more capacity than existing digital media in case of having the same spot size. It has made possible by means of technological advancement of devices and software. The photo quality paper was used for writing data by color inkjet or laser printing, and high resolution scanner was used for reading data. To extract data from image, the converting program was used. This paper shows the concept of rainbow disk as well as its performance and capacity. Axiomatic design was used for evaluating and developing the whole system.

  • The study aimed to explore media use by digital natives in Korea. To date, Korea is a country that has both the highest level of digital natives and fastest Internet access in the world. The study also intended to deeply understand the simultaneous activity use of different media and determined the characteristics of Korean digital natives. Based on Korea Media Panel Data for 2015, analyses of the digital natives' traits of time-space, media use, and simultaneous use of media were made through a statistic multi-correspondent method. The results showed that spatial attribute and media use of digital natives are homogeneous in pattern and the degree of simultaneous use of media seems to be limited in type. Moreover, the study suggested the new concept of digital natives' media use and the need for various studies showing the relationship between media use and the Internet generation.

  • There are several data broadcasting standards that the developers should apply when develops any interactive digital TV contents. In Korea, we adopts ACAP(Advanced Common Application Platform) as terrestrial data broadcasting standard, MHP(Multimedia Home Platform) fur satellite data broadcasting and OCAP(OpenCable Application Platform) for cable data broadcasting. Therefore, content providers must develop different applications which suited for different standards - even if the application is exactly same. This is waste of time and energy. This paper suggests a solution to solve this problem among different broadcasting platforms - MHP, OCAP and ACAP. We compared these specifications, and found out what APIs are typically used far applications. Then we designed XML file structures that can be used to define contents of applications. We also implemented an authoring tool which automatically generates XML files by interaction with users. This paper also ascertains Xlet applications, produced by the authoring tool, works properly on each different data broadcasting standard - MHP, OCAP and ACAP.

  • Media is a means for exchanging one's emotions or objective information in human society. Due to the spread of smart media due to the advent of digital media, media in modern society is not a simple means but encompasses the entire society in which humans live. It even took over the control function. Therefore, by examining the types and characteristics of media according to the service platform in which smart media is used, and building a big data hub for media based on this, new development and research directions for digital media can be explored. In this paper, we analyze various metadata generated through smart media and propose a plan for building a big data platform using it.

  • This study is to analyze the present publishing media in order to grasp the trend of data development and distribution. For this, I analyze the present tendency, concentrating indices of diagram, dividing into traditional book and e-book. It also discusses the viewpoint extracted from the problems related to the data development and distribution of publishing media. Traditional books and e-books have been expending to add newly updated convergence media in digital media era in which internet represents. I discuss these changes to convergence media for the realization of 'ubiquitous' mean the evolution to transmit propagational elements from proper character of traditional book. By the same token, I examine prospect of increasing digital publishing media and other problems before distribution.
