Recent advance of digital camera results in that image signal processing techniques are widely adopted to railroad security management. However, due to the nature of railroad management many images are acquired in low light level environment such as night scenes. The lack of light causes lots of noise in the image, which degrades image quality and causes errors in the next processes. 3D noise reducing techniques produce better results by using consecutive sequence of images. On the other hand, they cause degradation such as motion blur if there are motions in the sequence. In this paper, we use an adaptive weight filter to estimate more accurate motions and use the result of the adaptive filter to 3D result to improve objective and subjective mage quality.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the fit of the anterior and posterior teeth printed using two light-curing three-dimensional (3D) printers. Methods: Anterior and posterior single crowns were designed using dental software and were printed using 2 types of 3D printers, liquid crystal display (LCD) and digital light processing (DLP) (n=40). After the printed crown was scanned again from inside and outside, the prepared teeth were evaluated using a 3D program. To compare the root mean square (RMS) results among groups (α=0.05), the one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's test were used. Results: No statistically significant difference was found between the mean RMS values of the anterior and posterior teeth (p>0.05). However, as a result of comparing the internal, external, and tooth shapes, the DLP group showed significantly low errors in the inner and outer surfaces than LCD group (p<0.05). Conclusion: In terms of clinical acceptance standard of 100 ㎛, the fit of the anterior and posterior teeth fabricated using LCD and DLP was clinically acceptable.

The use of a fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (FFPI) as an optical current transducer is demonstrated. A conventional inductive pickup coil converts the time-varying current I(t) being measured to a voltage waveform V(t) applied across a piezeolectric strip to which the FFPI is bonded. The strip experiences a longitudinal expansion and contraction, resulting in an optical phase shift ${\phi}(t)$ in the fiber proportional to V(t). This phase shift is measured using a frequency-modulated semiconductor light source, photodiodes to monitor the reflected light from the FFPI and the laser power, and a digital signal processor. Calibration routines compute V(t) and I(t) from the measured phase shift at a l KHz rate. Response to 60 Hz ac over the design range 0-1300A rms is characterized Transient response of the FFPI transducer is also measured.
This paper describes a technique, which analyzes the functional instability of the ankle using three-dimensional scanner. The technique is based on the structured light pattern projection method, which is performed by using one digital still camera and one LCD projector. This system can be easily realized with the low cost. The measuring result has high accuracy. The measuring error is about 0.2 mm or less. Using this technique the three-dimensional posture of the leg and foot of the target person are measured and analyzed.

Recently Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) has been studied because it has the advantages to be able to measure the whole-field surface deformations of engineering components and materials in industrial areas with noncontact. The speckle patterns to be formed with interference phenomena of scattering light from rough surfaces illuminated by laser light have phase informations of surface deformations. In this study we used this interference phenomena and the phase shifting method to measure the inplane deformations, together with the use of digital image equipment to process the informations contained in the speckle pattern and to display consequent interferograms on TV monitor. FEA was performed before experiments and we obtained good agreement between the experimental results and FEA.
Recently, smart lighting systems are the combination between sensors and lights. These systems turn on/off and adjust the brightness of lights based on the motion of object and the brightness of environment. These systems are often applied in places such as buildings, rooms, garages and parking lot. However, these lighting systems are controlled by lighting sensors, motion sensors based on illumination environment and motion detection. In this paper, we propose an automatic lighting control system using one single camera for buildings, rooms and garages. The proposed system is one integration the results of digital image processing as motion detection, hand gesture detection to control and dim the lighting system. The experimental results showed that the proposed system work very well and could consider to apply for automatic lighting spaces.

ESPI(Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) is new optical measuring method to be able to measure the surface deformations of engineering components and materials in industrial areas. Conventional measuring method of surface deformation such as the strain gauge have many demerits because it is contact and point-to-point measuring one. But ESPI that is non-contact, whole field measuring method can overcome previous disadvantages. The speckle pattern to be formed with interference phenomena of scattering light from rough surfaces illuminated by laser light have phase information of surface In this study we used this interference phenomena and the phase shifting method to measure the in- plane deformation, together with the use of digital equipment to process the information contained in the speckle pattern and to display consequent inter ferograms. Finally we obtained good agreement between the experimenta results and those of FEM..
Background: Recently, three-dimensional (3D) printing has been hailed as a disruptive technology in dentistry. Among 3D printers, a digital light processing (DLP) 3D printer has certain advantages, such as high precision and relatively low cost. Therefore, the latest trend in resin crown manufacturing is the use of DLP 3D printers. However, studies on the internal fitness of such resin crowns are insufficient. The recently introduced 3D evaluation method makes it possible to visually evaluate the error of the desired area. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the internal fitness of resin crowns fabricated a by DLP 3D printer using the 3D evaluation method. Methods: The working model was chosen as the maxillary molar implant model. A total of 20 resin crowns were manufactured by dividing these into two groups. One group was manufactured by subtractive manufacturing system (PMMA), while the other group was manufactured by additive manufacturing system, which uses a DLP 3D printer. Resin crowns data were measured using a 3D evaluation program. Internal fitness was calculated by root mean square (RMS). The RMS was calculated using the Geomagic Verify software, and the mean and standard deviation (SD) were measured. For statistical analysis, IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows ver. 22.0 (IBM Corp., USA) was used. Then, independent t-test was performed between the two groups. Results: The mean±SD of the RMS were 41.51±1.51 and 43.09±2.32 for PMMA and DLP, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between PMMA and DLP. Conclusion: Evaluation of internal fitness of the resin crown made using a DLP 3D printer and subtractive manufacturing system showed no statistically significant differences, and clinically acceptable results were obtained.
Purpose: In this study, thermal properties were observed by measuring the extent of thermal expansion and the amount of thermal residue that appears upon burnout on a workpiece made by using a dental digital light processing (DLP) three-dimensional (3D) printer. Methods: Thermal properties of workpieces manufactured by using two 3D printers were observed. The specimens were designed in cylindrical form with dimensions 10 mm in diameter and 10 mm in height. The control specimen was made of wax, and the experimental specimen was made of resin. The thermal expansion rate was measured by applying heat to three types of specimens, and burnout residue was measured. Results: The thermal expansion rate of the wax pattern (WP) specimen was 0.93%±0.05%, of the RP1 specimen was 1.30%±0.08%, and of the RP2 specimen was 1.20%±0.09%. Measuring the recovered residue yielded residual amounts of 0.2% for the WP specimen, 1.1% for the RP2 specimen, and 1.8% for the RP1 specimen. Conclusion: 1. From measurements of the workpieces manufactured by dental DLP 3D printing, the thermal expansion rate was found to be higher than that of wax. 2. As a result of measuring burnout residues on the workpieces manufactured by dental DLP 3D printing, the required summoning temperature to obtain suitable castings was determined to >750℃.
Purpose: The technique introduced in this study describes a technique for surface treatment that applies a photocuring resin to the surface of an interim crown fabricated by three-dimensional (3D) printing without a conventional polishing method. The purpose of this study was to evaluate marginal and internal fit and the intaglio surface trueness of interim crowns after surface treatment of 3D-printed crowns for clinical application. Materials and Methods: An interim crown was fabricated using a 3D printer with digital light-processing technology, and the surface support was removed. After the posttreatment process, the resin was thinly applied to the surface of the interim crown and polymerized to solve the esthetic problem of the surface without the conventional polishing process. In addition, the marginal and internal fits were measured to verify the clinical use of this technique, and the trueness was evaluated to confirm the deformation of the inner surface according to the technical application of the outer surface of the interim crown. The difference before and after the evaluation by a statistical method was verified using an independent t-test (α=0.05). Result: There was no significant difference in the marginal and internal fit before and after the application of this technique (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in intaglio surface trueness before and after the application of this technique (P=0.963). Conclusion: There was no change in the marginal and internal fit or in intaglio surface trueness of the interim crowns to which this technology was applied. This surface treatment technique is a more convenient method for interim crowns fabricated using 3D-printing technology without the conventional polishing process.
