If we are to analyze certain chromatic phenomena, we must first know what “color” is； we must identify its essential characteristics in an effort to achieve a more rational comprehension of visual phenomena in general. What is difficult for most observers to grasp is that seeing colors is no different than seeing shapes. Indeed, all aspects of the objects in the world surrounding us-shape, size, distance, movement, as well as color--are seen via our perceptual system. (omitted)

In this study,the effect of both process parameters (wheel velocity, friction coefficients between die and billet, etc) and die-shape (abutment height and shape, flash gap, etc.) on the surface defect on forming process is theoretically investigated. For this work, computer simulation was performed by using the DEFORM, a commercial FEM code. Through numerous simulations with different parameters and die shapes, We propose one optimal die shape for CONFORM process which can remove surface defect.

A numerical analysis on the effect of the front shape on the aerodynamic characteristics of HST model is made, using FVM based general purpose 3D Navier-Stokes eq. solver, TURBO-3D program. Numerical solutions are compared with each case of different front shape for HST model. The result shows a good quantitative aerodynamic characteristic tendencies for variation of front shape of HST. Thus it may be used as a basis in the design of the shape of real HST.

Conflicting or inconsistent rules sometimes help us to represent the control actions of an expert more freely. Also, uncertainties about the control actions of the expert may render rules with conclusions whore membership functions have different width in their shapes. Conventional inference methods for FLC may not effectively handle such inconsistencies and/or rules containing such conclusions. In this paper, an effective inference method dealing with such If-Then rules is proposed.

In this paper, an unilateral teleoperation system using an universal master arm is developed. This system is composed of an universal master arm, a slave arm and a telerobot controller. The universal master arm has a vertically articulated type link structure, while an industrial robot is used as a slave arm. As the shapes of master arm and slave arm are different, the workspace mapping is needed, which maps the workspace of master arm to that of slave arm. Experimental results show that the slave arm of the developed system effectively follows the operator's motion.

We proposed a design procedure for Korean Precast Slab Track system. Korean Precast Slab Track system cannot use the same design procedure to German slab track system because of different shapes and some problems. We identified the problems of German slab track design system that cannot simulate effects of loads. This proposed procedure is implemented for the commercial software of ABAQUS. Using this procedure, one can consider uncombined effects between slab panel and hydraulic sub base, effect of close sleepers.

The equi-potential lines designed in the electric field are introduced to find the preform shape in axisymmetric hot forging. The equi-potential lines generated between two conductors of different voltages show similar trends of the minimum work paths between the undeformed shape and the deformed shape. Base on this similarity the equi-potential lines obtained by arrangement of the initial and final shapes are utilized for the design of preform and then the artificial neural network is used to find the range of initial volume and potential value of the electric field.

In this talk, we will review extragalactic science cases with NISS and SPHEREx. With its capability to perform a low resolution spectroscopy over a wide area, NISS and SPHEREx can provide valuable information about the evolution of spectral shapes of galaxies in different environments over cosmic history. This talk will focus on the cases for the studies that are closely related to the galaxy evolution and formation.

The corona in oil, the surface discharge in oil, the void discharge which could be in a transformer were imitated by using three electrodes with different shapes and the frequency bands of each ultrasonic signal were measured. After emitting artificial noises toward the transformer, only ultrasonic signals were extracted by frequency filtering, from the ultrasonic signals with noises at partial discharge. As a result, it was confirmed that the ultrasonic signals due to the corona in oil, the surface discharge in oil, the void discharge could be distinguished from the noises.

A structural system developed and named 'Pantadome system' by the author has been applied to six major spatial structures of various shapes and dimensions in different corners of the world. It is a structures system (not a construction method) incorporation a temporary 'kinematic mechanism' in it for a rational construction of domical structures. Nara Convention Hall has recently been constructed successful on the principle of Pantadome System. In the present paper raison d'etre, principle and newly applied examples of Panatadome System are presented.
