  • This study analyzes and suggests improvement direction for the problems of housing related market laws and policies that cause sudden changes according to the application criteria. These laws and policies include income deduction from housing subscription, monthly rent loan for housing stability, high price house, penalty points from poor quality construction, and real estate brokerage commission. Each has one or more specific values that decide application criteria causing noticeable different results. Benefit or loss can be decided when an application range is changed by a small difference of the application value near to the boundary. This study suggest to use equations instead of a certain values to remove those sudden changes and to make them steadily increasing slopes which can be lines or curves. The concept can be applied to other laws and policies that have significantly different results between criteria.

  • This paper reviews some methods on evaluating the impacts of low input farming on profitability, environments and human health. Measuring diverse effects of low input farming on the environmental economic aspects of agriculture poses a challenge because of difficulty in placing the objective value judgement on those impacts. This Study attempts to identify the individual attributes of low input agriculture and to examine the method of consturcting a simple index after assessing its marketed or non-marketed values in numerical terms. Validity of integrating socio-economic value of low input agriculture, which might be measured by multiple criteria approach, into a single index can be criticized. However, it might be meaningful in that this study suggest the guidance for how to assess the environmental and economic value of low input agriculture by single criteria and the possibility of overcoming the controversial subjectivity in weighing the different impact criteria.

  • For STEM education science teachers usually choose topics which are related to both science and other disciplinary contents. Nevertheless it is not clear for the teachers to adopt what kind of criteria for their choices. Interdisciplinary teaching is not a mixture of science content with another one from different disciplines as resources for the content teaching. Instead the criteria and perspectives for the integration need to be clearly defined. In this study we investigated how to integrate science and other disciplines in terms of interdisciplinary teaching. Family resemblance approach by Wittgenstein, recently revised by Erduran and Dagher, was applied to comparative analysis of science, math, and physical education curriculum documents in Korea. Aim and value, methodological rules and methods, knowledge, and activities in each discipline were compared and analyzed with the view of FRA. Results of the study described alternative criteria of how to find appropriate topics for interdisciplinary teaching.

  • This study provides a background on the growth of Indian automobile industry under different regulatory regimes. It is observed that the international joint ventures have played a key role in the growth of the sector. The study further examines the motives for forming IJVs in the auto component sector and also identifies the criteria for choosing the joint venture partner to mitigate conflicts. These two specific attributes form the core towards transfer of technology, promoting innovation and also act as a catalyst for adopting and choosing appropriate technology. The study brings out the relationship between motives, partner selection criteria and performance of the IJVs. Results indicate that firms gave maximum importance to technological skills, quality control measures and proprietary knowledge in selecting IJV partners. It is also observed that the motives affect the partner selection criteria in terms of skill and resources needed from the partner.

  • Dissolved gases analysis (DGA) is one of the most useful techniques to detect incipient faults in power transformers. Criteria interpreting DGA result is the most important. Because of difference of operation environment, construction type, oil volume, and etc, the interpretative criteria of DGA at KEPCO must be different with other standard like IEC-60599, Rogers and Doernenburg. In this paper, we collected the DGA data of the normal condition transformers and the incipient fault transformer to suggest the most appropriate criteria. Using these data, this paper suggests appropriate condition classification algorithm. Suggested algorithm can help to detect incipient fault earlier without unnecessary sampling.

  • The aim of this study is to propose the criteria for a evaluation model of the lifetime household work and organize the model. The results were as follows: Three criteria for a evaluation model of the life-time household work were proposed. $\circled1$ An appropriate framework of the evaluation model should be based on the transition of the family life. $\circled2$ The model should include major variables influencing the value of household work of homemaker. $\circled3$ The model should be flexible enough to accommodate various evaluation methods, and should reflect idiosyncracies of different evaluation methods. In view of the criteria stated above, the present study is based on the family life cycle framework. And the age of the last offspring exhibits a consistent major influence in the evaluation based on the household work hours, while the education level of homemakers shows a consistent major influence in the evaluation based on household worker. So as to reflect these two major variables in the family life cycle framework.

  • Although typically classified as AIS 1, whiplash injuries continue to represent a substantial social problem with associated costs estimated at over $1 billion annually. The primary objective of this study was to determine the effects of seat positions(seatback angle, headrest height) on risk for whiplash injury in very low speed(${\Delta}V$=4~10km/h) rear-end impact. To accomplish this, rear impact seat carriage tests and simulations were conducted using the BioRID-II dummy seated in a mass production seat, which allowed for the adjustment of seatback angle and headrest height. Neck injury criteria(NIC, Nkm) were then compared for different ${\Delta}V$ and seat positions.

  • A mathematical model is developed in this paper to define the interaction between the occupant and vehicle passenger compartment and to predict the occupant dynamic response during a sudden impulse load. Two different types of occupants are considered in this study, child and adult occupants. The occupants are considered as lumped masses connected to the child seat and vehicle's body masses by means of restraint systems. In addition, the occupant restraint characteristics of seat belt and airbag are represented by stiffness and damping elements. To obtain the dynamic response of the occupant, the equations of motion of the occupants during vehicle collisions are developed and analytically solved. The occupant's acceleration and relative displacement are used as injury criteria to interpret the results. It is demonstrated from the numerical simulations that the dynamic response and injury criteria are easily captured and analyzed. It is also shown that the mathematical models are flexible, useful in optimization studies and it can be used at initial design stage.

  • In feature-based multi-resolution modeling, the features are rearranged according to a criterion for the levels of detail (LOD) of multi-resolution models. In this paper, two different LOD criteria are investigated and discussed. The one is the volumes of subtractive features, together with the precedence of additive features over subtractive features. The other is the volumes of features, regardless of whether the feature types are subtractive or additive. In addition, the algorithms to define and extract the LOD models based on the criteria are also described. The criterion of the volumes of features can be used for a wide range of applications in CAD and CAE in virtue of its generality.

  • Multi-criteria decision making is deducing the relative importance in the criterion of decision making and each alternative which is able to making a variety of choices measures the preferred degree in the series of low-raking criterions. Moreover, this is possible by synthesizing them systematically. In general, a fundamental problem decision maker solve for multi-criteria decision making is evaluating a set of activities which are considered as the target logically, and this kind of work is evaluated and synthesized by various criterions of the value which a chain of activities usually hold in common. In this paper, we are the eigenvector methods in weights calculating. For the purpose of making optimal decision, the data of five different car models are used. For computing, we used Visual Numerica Version 1.0 software package.
