  • Rye, whole-crop barley and Italian Ryegrass are major winter forage species in Korea, and yield monitoring of winter forage species is important to improve forage productivity by precision management of forage. Forage monitoring using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has offered cost effective and real-time applications for site-specific data collection. To monitor forage crop by multispectral camera with UAV, we tested four types of vegetation index (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index; NDVI, Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index; GNDVI, Normalized Green Red Difference Index; NGRDI and Normalized Difference Red Edge Index; NDREI). Field measurements were conducted on paddy field at Naju City, Jeollanam-do, Korea between February to April 2019. Aerial photos were obtained by an UAV system and NDVI, GNDVI, NGRDI and NDREI were calculated from aerial photos. About rye, whole-crop barley and Italian Ryegrass, regression analysis showed that the correlation coefficients between dry matter and NDVI were 0.91~0.92, GNDVI were 0.92~0.94, NGRDI were 0.71~0.85 and NDREI were 0.84~0.91. Therefore, GNDVI were the best effective vegetation index to predict dry matter of rye, wholecrop barley and Italian Ryegrass by UAV system.

  • We have developed a 2D axi-symmetric numerical model for an inductively coupled plasma system in order to analyze gas mixing effect through a narrow gap shower head. For frictional flow, holes of 0.5 mm diameter and 2 mm length are approximately modeled in 2D. Gas velocity distribution 10 mm below the shower head showed 2 times difference between the center and the edge at 10 mTorr. At 10 mm above the wafer, it was increased to 6 times difference due to the pumping duct effect. The model with a 5 mm height buffer region of a shower head showed reasonable behavior of Ar discharge. The density of Ar metastable showed additional peak inside the buffer region around the edge holes.

  • In this paper we introduce a discrete tangent vector of a polygon defined on each vertex by a linear combination of forward difference and backward difference, and show that if the polygon is originated from a smooth curve then direction of the discrete tangent vector is a second order approximation of the direction of the tangent vector of the original curve. Using this discrete tangent vector, we also introduced the geometric cubic Hermite interpolation of a polygon with controlled initial and terminal speed of the curve segments proportional to the edge length. In this case the whole interpolation is $C^1$. Experiments suggest that about $90\%$ of the edge length is the best fit for the initial and terminal speeds.

  • As an important part of image processing, image demosaicking has been widely researched. It is especially necessary to propose an efficient interpolation algorithm with good visual quality and performance. To improve the limitations of residual interpolation (RI), based on RI algorithm, minimalized-Laplacian RI (MLRI), and iterative RI (IRI), this paper focuses on adaptive RI (ARI) and proposes an improved ARI (IARI) algorithm which obtains more distinct R, G, and B colors in the images. The proposed scheme fully considers the brightness information and edge information of the image. Since the ARI algorithm is not completely adaptive, IARI algorithm executes ARI algorithm twice on R and B components according to the directional difference, which surely achieves an adaptive algorithm for all color components. Experimental results show that the improved method has better performance than other four existing methods both in subjective assessment and objective assessment, especially in the complex edge area and color brightness recovery.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the electromyography signal's power spectrum mean and median tendencies appearing in the lower extremity during walking while wearing roller shoes. 9 male subjects volunteered who have no experience riding inline-skate or roller-skate, and have no record of musculoskeletal disorder. Subjects walked on treadmill twice for an hour (Once a week, one trial with the roller on and the other without roller, Walking velocity = 1.39 m/s). Electromyography was measured every 15 minute (0, 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes). Surface electrode sticked muscle at rectus femoris(R.F.), vastus lateralis(V.L.), vastus medialis(V.M.), biceps femoris(B.F.), tibialis anterior(T.A.), gastrocnemius lateralis(G.L.), gastrocnemius medialis(G.M.). At Rectus femoris, Vastus Lateralis, Vastus medialis, and Biceps femoris showed no statistically significant decrease of median frequency or mean edge frequency as time passes. Also, between two treatments (wearing the roller shoes vs not wearing the roller shoes), no statistically significant difference. After 60 minutes, mean edge frequency showed statistically significant decrease at tibalis anterior and after 45 minutes, mean edge frequency showed statistically significant decrease compared to wearing roller shoes without the wheels at gastrocnemius lateralis. At gastrocnemius medialis after 30 minutes, median frequency showed statistically significant decrease, and showed statistically significant difference compared to the control group. Wearing the roller shoes with wheels for a long time resulted in statistically significant decrease of mean edge frequency and median frequency in lower extremity, especially in shank muscles. Increase of wearing time of roller shoes and walking on a bumpy road wearing roller shoes with wheels result fatigue and thus, danger of injury.

  • We have investigated the correlation between the active-layer uniformity and reliability of InGaN/GaN blue LEDs. According to initial characteristics, the devices are classified into two groups: group I devices of uniform light-emission and group II devices of non-uniform light-emission. The group II devices are more dependent on temperature and we have found two degradation mechanisms through reliability test. One is bulk degradation in which the degradation occurred over the entire chip and another one is edge degradation in which the degradation occurred from the edge of the chip. Bulk degradation caused by the nonradiative defects is found to be faster in group II devices while there is no difference in the rate of the much faster edge degradation, where darkening starts from the n-Ohmic contact edge. Therefore, more uniform active layer, more uniform current spreading, and the passivation of the dry-etched side-wall are essential for the high reliability of InGaN/GaN LEDs.

  • To investigate edge vegetation structure and species in the Chrisan National Park, filed survey was excuted from August to October, 1991 and the results were as follows. Importance values of species in lower layer were changed according to the distance from edge to forest interior at the northeastern slope of a highland. Change of vegetation structure was observed from edge up to 30m of forest interior and edge depth was estimated as 15~20m. The dominance and frequency of edge species seemed to be affected by the factors of altitude, aspect and topographic location. Especially, edge vegetation showed severe difference according to topographic location between a ridge and a foot of a mountain, and according to aspect between southern and northern slope above midslope region of a mountain. Comparing vegetation structure of lower layer for southern and northern slope, more no. of individuals and crown coverage were observed at northern slope, while more no. of species, species diversity and coverage of Sasa purpurascen at southern slope.

  • In conventional color television systems color edges of highly saturated color pictures are deteriorated because of bandwidth limitation of the color-difference signal. In this paper a modified hue-weighted luminance demodulation method with low noise is proposed for the edge correction. The weighting coefficients are given by ratios of the gadient of color-difference signal to the gradient of band-limited luminance signal. Proposed method is theoretically complete for the 1st order lowpassed color-difference signals and well separated luminance/chrominance signal. Noise reduction technique is also considered because of impulse noise generation in the gradient ratio processing of noisy pictures. In computer simulation with noisy pictures proposed technique gives a visual effect of the bandwidth expansion and detail improvement in highly saturated color edge area.

  • An efficient algorithm for clock skew optimization is proposed in this paper. It construct a new clock routing topology which is the generalized graph model while previous methods uses tree-structured routing topology. Edge-insertion technique is used in order to reduce the clock skew. A link-edge is inserted repeatedly between two sinks whose delay difference is large and the distance is small. As a result, the delay of a sink which has the longer delay is decreased and the clock skew is reduced. The proposed algorithm is implemented in C programming language. From the experimental results, we can get the total wire length minimization under the given skew bound.
