2014 베니스 비엔날레 건축전 한국관의 전시이미지 표현특성 - 충돌 몽타주와 간격을 중심으로 - (Expressive Characteristics of Exhibition Image in 'The Korean peninsula' at the Venice Biennale Architecture 2014 - Focused on the Montage of Collision and Interval -)

  • This study is for the characteristic of expression of exhibition presentation in 'The Korean peninsula' which is the Golden Lion Winner at the Venice Biennale in 2014. The Korean peninsula provides two opposite political and economic systems and adaptations of modernism through various multi media images. The curator, Minsuk Cho, presented cinema montage image of Collision for analyzing dynamic exhibition organization and provides the foundation of his theory from Bergson's image and duration to Deleuze's movement-image and time-image which is mentioned from Deleuze's book "cinema 1" and "cinema 2". Furthermore, the Korean peninsula has showed perception-image and affection-image from Eisenstein & Vertov's cinemathology and systemized exhibition presentation. The montage of Collision has maximized the movement from the variety and complexity in a collision and it made difference between information images which are space, time, emotion, intelligence, the tumult between subjectivity and objectivity, fragments from reorganizing itself, and distribution and art images. The limit of montage of Collision's dialectic is not only visual but also space from organic organization but the Korean peninsula overcomes its limit and shows leap of tactile perception and time-reflection from the montage of Collision's dialectic. Therefore, the exhibition of the Korean peninsula presents the conviction of adaptations of modernism.

웅어스와 콜린 로우의 도시론에 대한 비교 연구 - 맥락, 켜, 유형 개념을 중심으로 - (A Comparative Study on the Urban Theory of O.M.Ungers and Colin Rowe - Focused on the concept of context, layer, type -)

  • Oswald Mathias Ungers and Colin Rowe are likely to be classified as Neo-rationalists, Typologists, and Contextualists with Aldo Rossi and Krier brothers. In urban theory, Ungers and Rowe opposed modern urbanism and also rejected the methodology of mat-building and megastructure. Teaching at Cornell, Rowe suggested Collage City purposing the concept of Bricollage while Ungers advanced City in the City and Dialectic City. Their theories look similar, however, in detail, they strongly differ in interpretation from the context, plurality, and layer as well as the view of contemporary society and urbanism. Rowe, whose nostalgic approach adhered to Nolli's Rome, had a tendency toward formalist however, Ungers was a realist who was interested in the new type of modern city. The main objective of this study is to analyze the commonalities and differences between theses two urban theories carefully, to trace the causes of the differences in perspectives, and thereby to consider their impact on the present.

  • High-rise buildings are frequently criticized for their absolutely artificial environments and high energy consumption. This paper tries to present an alternative approach to, and new prototypes for high-rise buildings through dialectic reconsideration of the responsive relation between high-rise buildings and environmental elements, in terms of thermodynamics and energy formation.

  • This paper presents a patch antenna design method using microwave dielectric ceramic substrate. 쿠마 켄고 디자인의 객체성과 전복적 전유 (The Objectivity and Subversive Appropriation of the Designs by Kuma Kengo)

  • When it comes to the architecture design, Kuma Kengo rejects a strong and violent subject-centered position and advocates the design that is object-oriented. As can be seen in 'gentle architecture', 'three lows principle', 'natural architecture', and 'connecting architecture', he clearly expresses the objective nature of architecture design in those terms. In this respect, the purpose of this study is to make a close inquiry into the meaning, effect and characteristics of objectivity. In particular, we try to identify the contents of 'impure architecture', which has a clear ambivalence to be an instrumental expression strongly settled in the objectivity, in an aesthetic standpoint. To do that, we systemized the concept of mimesis and the theory of subversive appropriation by Walter Benjamin and Theodor Adorno in to a frame of interpretation. By systemizing translation, subversion, verbalization and the dialectic structure of the aesthetics of negation, we interpreted the features of his works as an objective work and 'impure architecture'. His objectivity leads the situation by subversively appropriating the inherent elements of architectural conditions based on a dialectic solution in which inquiries on logical and scientific materials have played a critical role. Above all, through all these processes, he tried to suggest a language as a new technique for materials and structures. Ultimately, we could find out that this object oriented design sublates a subject oriented way that is monolithic and repetitive regardless of objects. Rather, it is a way that is effective in creating a new way of design by making a different approach to a new object rather unfamiliarly, yet deeply.

도시정책논리에 의한 사회공간적 배제 : 프랑스 ZUS를 사례로 (Socio-Spatial Exclusion by Urban Policy Dialectic : ZUS in France)

  • 사회문제를 해결하기 위한 다양한 정책은 시간 및 공간적 상황과 밀접히 연관되어 있다. 정책이 공간상에 미친 영향의 관점에서 전개된 본 연구는 '빈곤' 에 대한 새로운 인식으로 등장한 '사회적 배제' 의 개념을 중심으로 이를 극복하기 위한 프랑스정부의 도시정책을 대상으로 한다. 사회적 배제 극복을 위해 1996년에 제정된 '도시재활성화법' 에 근거한 일종의 빈민지구인 BUS의 설정은 궁극적으로는 사회적 배제 해소를 통한 사회통합을 목적으로 한다. 프랑스 정부는 ZWS에 대한 다양한 경제적 혜택을 통하여 사회적 배제문제를 해결하고자 노력하였으나 정책의 실효성이 매우 미약하여 ZUS 주민의 사회경제적 위상을 크게 개선하지 못하였다. 더욱이 물리적 구역 설정으로 인한 격리감은 오히려 주민의 사회적 심리적 소외와 연계됨으로써 이 지역을 공간적으로 더욱 배제 단절시키는 결과를 가져왔다. 이와 같은 결과는 ZUS가 지니는 사회공간적 특성을 고려하지 않은 정책의 한계를 노출한 것이라고 볼 수 있다.

논리의 색깔 (The Colors of Logic)

  • This essay seeks new possibilities in experimental thinking and to find ways in which philosophy can aid humanistic imagination. In emphasizing logical precision, philosophy has so far ignored the role of imagination in philosophical logic and limited itself to deductive logic. Despite the obvious fact that no degree of logical precision can fully account for, nor provide complete expression for, the vast range of human thought, other modes of thinking have suffered in the shadow of deductive logic. But these non-deductive models of thinking can in many cases better explain the emotive, aesthetic logic of the humanities. The kinds of models (deductive and non-deductive) in humanistic thinking include dialectic, abductive, analogic, pragmatic, inductive, and deductive logic. Each mode of logical thinking may be assigned a color that represents its emotive characteristics: red for dialectics (opposition): blue for abduction (transcendence); yellow for analogy (flexibility); green for pragmatics (peace); violet/purple for induction (fantasy); and finally orange for deduction (trust). And each mode can also be keyed to major areas in humanistic thought, making up the following connections: dialectic-red-history; abduction-blue-literature; analogy-yellow-philosophy ; pragmatics-green-religion ; induction-violet/purple-arts; and deduction-orange-science. These connections serve to illustrate the interrelationship between emotion and intelligence, leading us toward considerations of emotional intelligence and intelligent emotion. The former is increasingly gaining attention, as the effect of 'mood space' on intelligence is being scrutinized. That the rate of suicide among mathematicians is very high points to the need for careful study of the reverse relationship between emotion and intelligence, intelligent emotion. The need for the latter is all the more pressing, as the emergence of new technology is allowing, even forcing, us more and more to experience the world intellectually (i.e., sans emotive experience) through a new virtual space called cyberspace.

알레르기성 비염(鼻炎)의 침구치료에 관한 문헌적 고찰 (Literal Study of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Treatment about Allergic Rhinitis)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the acupuncture points and the The Meridians and Collaterals which are often applicable to Allergic Rhinitis treatment and to help us do a clinical diagnosis. In my discretion, to study Allergic Rhinitis, investigating rhinitis, syuffy nose and nasal mucus is essential. And 1 investigated the acupuncture points and The Meridians and Collaterals and dialectic patterns which are useful for the acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. 1 also investigated the correlation of the acupuncture points, and The Meridians and Collaterals and other dialectic patterns. The order of frequency in use of The Meridians and Collaterals is The Governor Vessel, The Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming, The Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang and the order of frequency in moxibustion is The Governor Vessel, The Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming. In the acupuncturation of stuffy nose, there are 33 points, and the order of frequency in use is LU2O, GV23, LU4, GBI 5, GV2O, BL7, GV22. In the acupuncturation of nasal mucus, there are 21 points, and the order of frequency in use is LU2O,, GV23, GVl6, GV26, BLl2, GV2O, GB2O. It is thought that acupuncture points LU2O, GV23, LU4 can go through the nasal cavity and remove wind fever. And those are used for the face and the five sensory organs diseases. It means that those acupuncture points have similar efficacy. It is thought that The Meridians and Collaterals of The Governor Vessel, The Large Intestine Meridian of Hand-Yangming, The Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang go on a patrol near nose and cure nose disease.

자유주의의 내재적 문제와 헤겔의 법철학 (On the immanent Problems of Liberalism and Hegels Philosophy of Right)

  • 이 글의 목적은 헤겔의 법철학이 자유주의에 대한 변증법적 비판이라는 점을 밝히는 데 있다. 이 글에서의 변증법적 비판이란 형식논리학적 부정이 아닌 자기부정적 자기복귀라는 헤겔적 의미의 변증법적 부정을 의미한다. 따라서 헤겔 법철학이 자유주의에 대한 변증법적 비판이라면 헤겔 법철학은 자유주의에 대해 비판적이면서 동시에 자유주의를 거부하지 않고 오히려 자유주의적 측면을 갖게 될 것이다. 자유주의에 대한 비판은 개인의 자유와 권리가 개인의 자유로운 행위를 통해 주관적으로 실현될 수 없고 반드시 사회적 매개를 통해 상호주관적으로 실현된다는 점을 함축한다. 그리고 이는 현대 자유주의자들의 논쟁에서도 발견된다. 왜냐하면 현대 자유주의는 개인의 자유와 권리의 실현을 위해 정부의 역할이나 제도적 마련을 요구하고 있기 때문이다. 그리고 헤겔 법철학의 자유주의적 측면은 헤겔이 인륜성 속에서 실현하고자 하는 가치가 결국 개인의 자유와 권리의 구체적 실현과 확장이라는 점에서 드러난다.

전통인형극 <꼭두각시놀음>에 나타난 몰입과 소격의 변증법 -브레히트의 소격효과이론을 중심으로- (The Dialectic of Immersion and Fire in Traditional Puppetry : Focusing on Brecht's Theory of Effectiveness)

  • 몰입과 소격의 이중구조로 되어 있는 <꼭두각시놀음>에서는 상충하는 두 요소가 어떻게 변증법적으로 통합되고 그것이 주는 수용미학의 의미와 가치는 무엇인가를 탐색해 보고자 본 논문은 수행되었다. 연구결과 첫째, 브레히트가 제시한 소격 효과 기법들이 <꼭두각시놀음>에서는 몰입 기법으로 기능할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 둘째, 관객의 참여성 확대를 위한 산받이의 역할은 몰입 효과와 함께 소격 효과를 동시에 산출한다. 이러한 산받이의 이중적 기능은 변증법적으로 통합되며 관객의 이성적 현실 성찰과 웃음과 즐거움, 그리고 유희성을 동시에 거양(擧揚)해 낸다. 셋째, 인형극은 현실묘사의 방법이 아니라 현실 바라보기 방법으로서 유효하다. 그런 면에서 인형극 <꼭두각시놀음>은 대항 담론의 생산방식으로 표현의 확장성이 무한하며 어느 공연양식보다 효과적이라는 것을 보여준다.
