As part of the Herschel key program "Water in Star-forming Regions with Herschel (WISH)", PACS imaging spectroscopy data have been taken toward ten massive young stellar objects (YSOs): four high mass protostellar objects (HMPOs), two hot molecular cores (HMCs), and four ultracompact HII regions (UCHIIs). The spectra cover a broad range of wavelengths (55 to 210 micron) presenting various atomic and molecular lines as well as excellent dust thermal continua. By fitting the continua utilizing a modified black-body formula we estimate mass-weighted temperature and column density distributions of warm dust and find that UCHII regions are warmer and HMCs are more deeply embedded than the other types. We also estimate rotational temperature and column density distributions of warm CO gas using the rotational diagram analysis. In addition, based on the comparison of high J CO line fluxes to the RATRAN estimates of central heating envelope models, we find that majority of warm CO is originated from bipolar outflow shocks.
The characteristics of an impact load and pressure were experimentally investigated. Drop tests were carried out using a modified Wigley with CB = 0.56. The vertical force, pressures, and vertical accelerations were measured. A 6-component load cell was used to measure the forces, piezo-electric sensors were used to capture the impact pressure, and strain-gauge type accelerometers were used to measure the vertical accelerations. A 50-kHz sampling rate was applied to capture the peak values. The repeatability of the measured data was confirmed and the basic characteristics of the impact load and pressure such as the linearity to the falling height were observed for all of the measurements. A simple formula was derived to extract the physical impact load from the measured force based on a simple mass-sensor-mass diagram, which was validated by comparing impact forces with existing data using the mathematical model of Faltinsen and Chezhian (2005). The effects of the elasticity of the model and change in acceleration during the water entry were investigated. It is interesting to observe that the impact loads occurred and reached peak values at the same time duration after water entry for all drop heights.
A design modification was made on the 9-th stage wheel dovetail of a high-intermediate pressure (HIP) turbine rotor for a fossil power plant that necessitates the use of new long-shank buckets for the row. A bucket vibration test is necessary to verify that the new 9-th stage buckets have adequate frequency margin from a nozzle passing frequency when running at speed. A finite element analysis (FEA) has been performed using a commercial S/W to approximately estimate bucket natural frequencies, and thus to help the vibration test. A row of the new buckets has assembled on the HIP rotor for the vibration tests using dynamic balancing facilities. The tests have been done during deceleration run with air excitation. The test results are compared with the calculation using our empirical formula, and show that the modified design meets the frequency-margin requirements.
In this paper, we first design the block diagram of the components for multi-mode SDR terminal based on SCA technology. It support both WIMAX mode and HSDPA mode. Then from the result of the analysis with a real SDR terminal implementation, we analyze which components of it have to be more lightweight. In addition we derive the general formula for the measure of dynamic reconfiguration time on the reconfiguration of the components. Finally we present a dynamic component-level reconfiguration algorithm with 22 stages based on the result of our analysis without violating the interface and procedure of SCA specification.
An External Electrode Fluorescent Lamp (EEFL) has longer lifespan, higher power efficiency and higher luminance than a Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp (CCFL). Moreover, it is easy to drive them in parallel. Therefore, the EEFL is expected to quickly replace the CCFL in LCD backlight systems. However, the EEFL has more complex characteristics than the CCFL with a resistive component, because it has both a resistive component by plasma and a capacitive component by external electrode. In this paper, values of resistance and capacitance are measured at several power levels and at several operating frequencies. They are expressed by a numeral formula based on a linear approximation that represents the equivalent resistance and capacitance as a function of power. Then we made block diagram of the equivalent circuit model using numerical expressions. Simulation waveforms and experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the equivalent model.
South Korea has the defense burdensharing agreement with the United States in reference to the U.S. troops stationed in Korea since 1991, based on Special Measure Agreement(SMA). Due to the growth of Korea's economic power and the U.S. provision of the security environment on Korean penninsula, the U.S. government steadily demanded the rise of contributions to common defense from South Korea and South Korea accepted most of the U.S. requests without proper principles of negotiation concerning the cost sharing. This paper analyzes the systems of the Korea-U.S. cost sharing program through a systems thinking, that yields desirable results with a little effort. The three policy leverages are: 1) the development of negotiation principles; 2) the policy making closely linked with National Defense Reform Basic Plan; 3) the policy making with responsibility burdensharing than cost burdensharing. This paper findings will contribute to the developing the Korea-U.S. cost sharing program by providing policy-makers and policy-practitioners with systematic understanding and insight into the dynamics of the program. Also, this will enable the program to execute more effectively with a concrete formula.
We present recent data of absolute measurements of flux emmitted in the visible continua of some galactic Wolf-Rayet stars, carried out by means of a two-channel scanner built up cooperatively by the Observatoire de Lyon and the Laboratoire d'Astronomie Spatiale. Our measurements lead to the determination of stellar angular diameters which enable us to compute log $L_*/L_{\odot}$ and to locate the WR stars in the HR diagram: The WR stars are cooler than the zero age main sequence (ZAMS) and the WN7, WN8 types appear more luminous than other subclasses. The stellar wind terminal velocities, $V_{\infty}$, deduced from the empirical relation of the effective temperatures by Underhil1(1983) and $V_{\infty}$ adopted from the work of Willis(1982) show about 2,000km/s. We derived the rate of mass loss for the program stars from the formula, $\dot{M}={\varepsilon}(T_{eff})\;L/V_{\infty}{\cdot}c$ by using the obtained effective temperatures, luminosities and $V_{\infty}$ in this work. Their values range from $\dot{M}=1.4{\times}10^{-5}$ to $\dot{M}=5.8{\times}10^{-5}\;\dot{M}_{\odot}/yr$.

This paper presents the radiation rate formula due of a inclusion of a series capacitor and shunt inductor in a unit cell for the right/left-handed transmission line (RLH-TL). The equivalent circuit for a RLH unit cell considering radiation effects is presented and analyzed in terms of the Bloch impedance and dispersion diagram. It has been found that when two radiation rates are identical, the Blockimpedance reduces to the characteristic impedance of the host conventional RH-TL. Besides, design equations for a unit cell for a specific phase shift at a given frequency are provided. The method of realizing uniform excitation along the RLH-TL is also proposed for antenna applications.
Japanese larch (Larix leptolepis) is one of main timber species in Korea that could find much plantation and growing stands on all over the country. It is thought to be in meaningful that a guiding diagram for density control of Japanese larch stands is made to estimate easily the density conditions in the quantitaive, ecological and economic viewpoint. Sample plots for this study are selected from the stands that have not been thinned in recent years, and mean height, mean diameter, dominant height, tree numbers per hectare and stem volume of mean tree are calculated from the each sample plots among total 165 plots In this study, especially, the theory of slenderness of mean tree are applied, that have been identified through the results of the spacing trial. Relative growth characteristics of this species are calculated from the general logistic curve and its formula is $Y=ax^b$. Relatwion between the measured items are found out as follows: 1. Relation between the mean height and tree numbers per hectare by slender class is showing the high correlation as table 1 and fig. 2, and between mean diameter and tree numbers per hectare is also high correlation as table 1 and fig 3. 2. The stem volume can be correctly estimated from height in case that slender class may be known, as showing in table 3 and fig. 4. 3. The stem volume can be more correctly estimated from the relation with $D^2H$ as formula, $Log_e\;V=0.9569\;Log_eD^2H-9.8431$, and relation between stem volume of single tree or volume per hectare and tree numbers per hectare are as following formulas: $Log_e$ stem volume=9.5026-1.6800 $Log_e$ tree numbers per hectare $Log_e$ stem volume per hectare=9.4911-0.6784 $Log_e$ tree numbers per hectare. Stem volume of mean tree, tree numbers per hectare and stem volume per hectare correspond to the mean tree height are calculated to slender class as table 5, 6, 7. Through the above steps, the diagram for density control of Japanese larch are produced as fig. 9. It is thought that this diagram could be applied to control the density of Japanese larch stands.

As the information age grows rapidly, the amount of digital texts has been increasing as well. It has brought an increasing of visualization case in order to figure out lots of digital texts. Existing visualized design of digital text is merely concentrating on figuration of subject word through adoption of stemming algorithm and word frequency extraction, prominence of meaning of text, and connection in between sentences. So it is a fact that expression of rhythm that can visualize sentimental feeing of digital text was insufficient. Syllable is a phoneme unit that can express rhythm more efficiently. In sentences, syllable is a most basic pronunciation unit in pronouncing word, phase and sentence. On this basis, accent, intonation, length of rhythm factor and others are based on syllable. Sonority, which is most closely associated with definitions of syllable, is expressed through air flow of igniting lung and acoustic energy that is specified kinetic energy into sonority. Seen from this perspective, this study examines phonologic definition and characteristics based on syllable, which is properties of digital text, and research the way to visualize rhythm through diagram. After converting digital text into phonetic symbol by the experiment, rhythm information are visualized into images using degree of resonance, which was started from rhythm in all languages, and using syllable establishment of digital text. By visualizing syllable information, it provides syllable information of digital text and express sentiment of digital text through diagram to assist user's understanding by systematic formula. Therefore, this study is aimed at planning for easy understanding of text's rhythm and realizing visualization of digital text.
