  • Background and purpose: The purpose of this study is to review the recent achievements on ryodoraku and suggest new ryodoraku studies. Methods: The study papers related with ryodoraku, published in foreign countries and Korea up to the present, were collected first by internet search & journal. And then the collected papers were classified and summarized. Results and Conclusion: There are three study trends. One is finding some effect and analysis for some symptoms, another is finding a distinguishing mark and a diagnostic index, and the other is raising several points & providing solution & studying about relativity with another diagnosis. Some studies finding some effect and analysis for some symptoms are to be classified into four items(1. effect of drugs medication. 2. effect of ryodoraku therapy. 3. effect of other treatments. 4. effect of other treatments with ryodoraku therapy). Other studies finding a distinguishing mark and a diagnostic index are to be classified into two items(1. diagnostic index of symptoms. 2. distinguishing mark of disease). The other studies are to be classified into three items(1. ryodoraku introduction and raising several points at issue. 2. improvement machinery and tools. 3. studying about relativity with another diagnosis). Finally we need solving the ryodoraku problems(the condition of measurement and reproducibility, relation with Kyung-rak(經絡) and Ryodoraku, the reason of Ryodoraku points producing and etc.).

  • Objective : The study was to investigate Diagnosis and Treatment Based on an Overall Analysis of Signs and Symtoms(證治) of a patient on stomach cancer stage IV by means of the clinical symptoms. Methods : The observation of the clinical progress was carried out by conducting Diagnosis and Treatment Based on an Overall Analysis of Signs and Symtoms(證治) with the patient diagnosed stomach cancer stage IV. Results : Treatments such as the invigoration of qi(補氣), the flow of qi(行氣), and the relieving pain(止痛) was given because the patient showed the qi deficiency of the spleen and stomach(脾胃氣虛). There were moderate effects for anorexia, indigestion, nausea, and general weakness, but there was not any clear effect for alleviation of abdominal pain except the first period. Specially, compared with two hospitalization treatments in 1998, the third hospitalization treatment did not show any apparent improvement. It was believed that this caused by the patients bodily weakness because of deterioration of anemia from bleeding in the progress of cancer. Conclusion : Diagnosis and treatment based on an overall analysis of signs and symtoms(證治) of a patient on stomach cancer stage IV had moderate effects on the improvement of the patients condition, but in this case we had difficulty in long-term observation because of short hospitalizations or insufficient examination by an oriental-western combined medicine group.

  • Onbyeong(溫病) is called an acute epidemic febrile disease caused by warm pathogen, a major symptom of Onbyeong is high fever. Doctrine of Onbyeong is a study of an occurrence, progress and treatments of an acute epidemic febrile disease. Doctrine of Onbyeong is valid in the Cheong Dynasty at China. Now, a theory of doctrine of Onbyeong at China and Korea is being applied in not only an acute febrile disease but also many other lifestyle diseases. Onbyeongjobyeon is a book written by Oguktong(吳鞠通). Oguktong was influenced by Jangjung-gyeong(張仲景) "Sanghanron(傷寒論)". Oguktong had organized Seopcheonsa(葉天士)'s medical thoughts and Oguktong's medical experiences. A Samcho(三焦) deteriorated case is divided into three groups - Upper, Middle and Lower-energizer - that is discussed of a vertical progress of Onbyeong. And a Wigiyeonghyeol(衛氣營血) deteriorated case is divided into four groups - Wi, Gi, Yeong and Hyeol - that is discussed of a horizontal progress of Onbyeong. In Korean medicine, there are four types of diagnosis which are watching, listening, asking and taking. Informations, got by four types diagnosis are synthesized and classified for medical treatments. A pulse diagnosis belongs to a method by taking a wrist among four diagnosis. A Korean Medicine doctor makes a conclusion of cause, region and condition of disease by taking a pulse. Because all organs in human body are connected by a meridian system. organs conditions are reflected in a meridian system. So by taking a pulse, a progress and a prognosis of disease is diagnosed In this thesis, by taking a pulse on "Onbyeongjobyeon(溫病條辨)", a location and a feature of disease's cause with weakness and strength of a vital force are examined, and a character of a pulse diagnosis of Onbyeong is examined.
