  • The Study determinant is known as one of replacements for the determinant of matrices with entries in a noncommutative ring. In this paper, we give a generalization of the Study determinant and show its relationship with the Cayley-Dickson process. We also give some properties of a non-associative ring obtained by the Cayley-Dickson process with a not necessarily commutative, but associative ring as the initial ring.

  • In this paper, we present a Schwarz lemma at the boundary for analytic functions at the unit disc, which generalizes classical Schwarz lemma for bounded analytic functions. For new inequalities, the results of Jack's lemma and Hankel determinant were used. We will get a sharp upper bound for Hankel determinant H2(1). Also, in a class of analytic functions on the unit disc, assuming the existence of angular limit on the boundary point, the estimations below of the modulus of angular derivative have been obtained.

  • Let S denote the class of analytic and univalent functions in the open unit disk $D=\{z:{\mid}z{\mid}<1\}$ with the normalization conditions f(0) = 0 and f'(0) = 1. In the present article, an upper bound for third order Hankel determinant $H_3(1)$ is obtained for a certain subclass of univalent functions generated by Ruscheweyh derivative operator.

  • This paper presents the interesting properties of a certain patterned matrix that plays an significant role in the statistical analysis. The necessary and sufficient condition on the existence of the inverse of the patterned matrix and its determinant are derived. In special cases of the patterned matrix, explicit formulas for its inverse, determinant and the characteristic equation are obtained.

  • This study aims to propose a determinant model to select a method on calculating weight of each indicator for environmental evaluation. According to analyzing and comparing with three types of methods for calculating weights which are usually used to evaluate environment with indicators, the weights which were obtained by each type were all different from each other. This means that a differential weighting method must be applied to each of environmental evaluation studies. Therefore, a determinant model is required to determine weight-calculating methods. Three types of weighting methods, such as weighting by importance degree, weighting by eigen-value and weighting by analytic hierarchy process, were compared. Under the necessity, a determinant model was drawn for selecting a compatible method to calculate weights of indicators in environmental evaluation.

  • Image steganography is one of the key types of steganography where a message to be sent is hidden inside the cover image. The most commonly used techniques for image steganography rely on LSB steganography. In this paper, a novel image steganography technique based on blocks matrix determinant method is proposed. Under this method, a cover image is divided into blocks of size $2{\times}2$ pixels and the determinant of each block is calculated. The comparison of the determinant values and corresponding data bits yields a delicate way for the embedment of data bits. The main aim of the proposed technique is to ensure concealment of secret data inside an image without affecting the cover image quality. When the proposed steganography method is compared with other existing LSB steganography methods, it is observed that it not only provides higher PSNR, lower MSE but also guarantees better quality of the stego image.

  • The purpose of this study is to present basic data of basic concept that planners should consider in planning process. For this purpose, we have proposed the determinant factors of basic concept. In particular, this study focuses on the physical planning elements among the various planning elements that determine the basic concept. The research method is the case study and analysis for the competitions of LH for the past four years. After dividing the residential environment area, the planning elements was derived and the planning direction is arranged for the case district. The determinants factor were determined by the structure of each area. Three area, including the degree of urban context, were found to be the main determinants of the basic idea. The results of the study are as follows. (1) The degree of reflection of urban context, the degree of effort to resolve environmental influences are determinant factors of basic concept. (2) The degree of connection between urban and site area, the degree of overlapping of the boundaries, and street are determinant factors of basic concept. (3) The degree of appropriateness of the residential layout, the degree of rationality of the moving plan, the adequacy of the community space plan are determinant factors of basic concept.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the determinant factors of social TV resistance to innovation and intention to use focused on college students. The results were as follows. First, complexity, trialability and observability among the determinant factors of social TV usage influenced positively on resistance to innovation of social TV, and complexity influenced negatively on resistance to innovation of social TV. Second, only observability among the determinant factors of social TV usage influenced positively on intention to use. Third, resistance to innovation of social TV usage influenced negatively on intention to use.

  • Even though Korean consumers have shown the strong preference for environment-friendly agricultural products, the real market of environment-friendly agricultural products may reach a plateau. In order to overcome this problem, researchers should find the more specific consumers' needs, including taste, flavor, shape, and others. and offer some implications to farmers and marketers. The object of this paper is to analyze the determinant factors of Korean consumers about environment-friendly carrot and oriental melon, through survey and fuzzy multi-criteria decision making approach. The results of analyses present that Korean consumers have the unique determinant factors about environment-friendly carrot and oriental melon, which are different from conventional carrot and oriental melon. Korean consumers' experience of the buying of environment-friendly vegetable is also influential in the determinant factors. Findings and implications from this research may be useful to Korean producers and other researchers.
