  • In this paper, we propose a DNN based speech detection system using acoustic characteristics and context information of media audio. The speech detection for discriminating between speech and non-speech included in the media audio is a necessary preprocessing technique for effective speech processing. However, since the media audio signal includes various types of sound sources, it has been difficult to achieve high performance with the conventional signal processing techniques. The proposed method improves the speech detection performance by separating the harmonic and percussive components of the media audio and constructing the DNN input vector reflecting the acoustic characteristics and context information of the media audio. In order to verify the performance of the proposed system, a data set for speech detection was made using more than 20 hours of drama, and an 8-hour Hollywood movie data set, which was publicly available, was further acquired and used for experiments. In the experiment, it is shown that the proposed system provides better performance than the conventional method through the cross validation for two data sets.

  • The recent power shortages due to surge in demand for electricity highlights the importance of smart grid technologies for efficient use of power. The experimental content for vulnerability against availability of smart meter, an essential component in smart grid networks, has been reported. Designing availability protection mechanism to boost the realization possibilities of the secure smart grid is essential. In this paper, we propose a mechanism to detect the availability infringement attack for smart meter and also to find anomaly nodes through analyzing smart grid structure and traffic patterns. The proposed detection mechanism uses approximate entropy technique to decrease the detection load and increase the detection rate with few samples and utilizes the signal information(CIR or RSSI, etc.) that the anomaly node can not be changed to find the anomaly nodes. Finally simulation results of proposed method show that the detection performance and the feasibility.

  • In this paper, we propose an approach to signal model-based fault detection and diagnosis system for induction motors. The current fault detection techniques used in the industry are limit checking techniques, which are simple but cannot predict the types of faults and the initiation of the faults. The system consists of two consecutive processes: fault detection process and fault diagnosis process. In the fault detection process, the system extracts the significant features from sound signals using combination of variance, cross-correlation and wavelet. Consequently, the pattern classification technique is applied to the fault diagnosis process to recognize the system faults based on faulty symptoms. The sounds generated from different kinds of typical motor's faults such as motor unbalance, bearing misalignment and bearing loose are examined. We propose two approaches for fault detection and diagnosis system that are waveletand-variance-based and wavelet-and-crosscorrelation-based approaches. The results of our experiment show more than 95 and 78 percent accuracy for fault classification, respectively.

  • Recently, several environment damage caused by malicious or suspicious code is increasing. We study comprehensive response system actively for malware detection. Suspicious code is installed on your PC without your consent, users are unaware of the damage. Also, there are need to technology for realtime processing of Big Data. We must develope advanced technology for malware detection. We must analyze the static, dynamic of executable file for fundamentally malware detection in recently and verified by a reputation for verification. It is need to judgment of similarity for realtime response with big data. In this paper, we proposed realtime detection and verification technology using multiple filter. Our malware study suggests a new direction of realtime malware detection.

  • Checkpoint placement is an effective fault tolerance technique against transient faults in which the task is re-executed from the latest checkpoint when a fault is detected. In this paper, we propose a new checkpoint placement strategy separating data saving and fault detection processes that are performed together in conventional checkpoints. Several fault detection processes are performed in one checkpoint interval in order to decrease the latency between the occurrence and detection of faults. We address the placement method of fault detection processes to maximize the probability of successful execution of a task within the given deadline. We develop the Markov chain model for a real-time task having the proposed checkpoints, and derive the optimal fault detection and checkpoint interval.

  • In this paper, we propose a modified iterative pre-whitening projection statistics (MIPPS) scheme for improving multi-target detection performance in non-homogeneous clutter environments. As a non-homogeneity detection (NHD) technique of space-time adaptive processing algorithm for airborne radar, the MIPPS scheme improves the average detection probability of weak target when multiple targets with different reflection signal intensities are located in close range. Numerical results show that the conventional NHD schemes suffers from the masking effect by strong targets and clutters and the proposed MIPPS scheme outperforms the conventional schemes with respect to the average detection probability of the weak target at low signal-to-clutter ratio.

  • In the US, Japan and Germany the Aerial-Based Vehicle Detection System, which collects real-time traffic data using the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft has been developed for the last several years. Therefore, this study was done to find out whether the Aerial-Based Vehicle Detection System could be used for real-time traffic data collection. For this purpose the study was divided into two parts. In the first part the possibility of retrieving real-time traffic data such as travel speed from the aerial photographic image using the image processing technique was examined. In the second part the quality of the retrieved real-time traffic data was examined to find out whether the data are good enough to be used as traffic information source. Based on the results of examinations we could conclude that it would not be easy for the Aerial- Based Vehicle Detection System to replace the present Vehicle Detection System due to technological difficulties and high cost. However, the system could be effectively used to make the emergency traffic management plan in case of incidents such as abrupt heavy rain, heavy snow, multiple pile-up, etc.
