  • Reactions of alkaline metal carbonates with sulfur are investigated in detail. The evolution of CO and a trace of $SO_2$ were observed in the course of reaction with major component of polysulfides. Some evidences that the reaction proceeds with breaking of terminal sulfur-sulfur bond in the sulfur polymer, and forming CO, $SO_2$ and polysulfide are presented. Polysulfides have the role of keeping free sulfur and allow it to react with other chemicals to rather high temperatures.plexes, whereas the binuclear and mononuclear complexes of Mn$^{2+}$ and Co$^{2+}$

  • The classification of quality costs by item is essencial to sum up the entire quality cost but the reality of classifying the quality cost by the firm is facing with difficulty in terms of grouping the concerned items. Meanwhile, the classification of items and calculating method of quality costs should be prepared in adcance with a certain standards and or regulations to figure out the accurate quality costs successfuly. This case study provides the contents of quality costs calulated by item and the method of calculation in detail which is applicable to automobile component industry md, also introduce how to set up the computing system of quality costs.

Calculation of Losses in VSC-HVDC based on MMC Topology

  • VSC technology is now well established in HVDC and is, in many respects, complementary to the older Line Commutated Converter (LCC) technology. Despite the various advantages of VSC technology, VSC HVDC stations have higher power losses than LCC stations. Although the relative advantages and disadvantages are well known within the industry, there have been very few attempts to quantify these factors on an objective basis. This paper describes methods to determine the operating losses of every component in the valve of VSC-HVDC system. The losses of the valve, including both conduction losses and switching losses, are treated in detail.

  • The nonlinear dynamic behavior of a nonuniform small-scale nonlocal beam is investigated in this work. The nanobeam is theoretically modeled using the nonlocal Eringen theory, as well as a few of Von-nonlinear Kármán's theories and the classical beam theory. The Hamilton principle extracts partial differential equations (PDE) of an axially functionally graded (AFG) nano-scale beam consisting of SUS304 and Si3N4 throughout its length, and an elastic Winkler-Pasternak substrate supports the tapered AFG nanobeam. The beam thickness is a function of beam length, and it constantly varies throughout the length of the beam. The numerical solution strategy employs an iteration methodology connected with the generalized differential quadratic method (GDQM) to calculate the nonlinear outcomes. The nonlinear numerical results are presented in detail to examine the impact of various parameters such as nonlinear amplitude, nonlocal parameter, the component of the elastic foundation, rate of cross-section change, and volume fraction parameter on the linear and nonlinear free vibration characteristics of AFG nanobeam.

  • The article considers in detail the possibilities and significance of marketing technologies for additional education programs as the most flexible and adaptive component of the educational process. Moreover, additional education programs are the most market-defined. Also at this stage, we have developed the structure of the e-mail message about ongoing additional educational programs in order to promote them, and on its basis, we have prepared an example of a letter for e-mail.informational and educational mailing using techniques to attract the attention of the addressee in order to promote additional educational programs.The content of the letter was also formed for students of the electronic course "Education Marketing", sent out in order to monitor the educational process.

  • The problem of Benard double diffusive Marangoni convection is investigated in a horizontally infinite composite layer system consisting of a two component fluid layer above a porous layer saturated with the same fluid, using Darcy-Brinkman model with constant heat sources/sink in both the layers. The lower boundary of the porous region is rigid and upper boundary of the fluid region is free with Marangoni effects. The system of ordinary differential equations obtained after normal mode analysis is solved in closed form for the eigenvalue, thermal Marangoni number for two types of thermal boundary combinations, Type (I) Adiabatic-Adiabatic and Type (II) Adiabatic -Isothermal. The corresponding two thermal Marangoni numbers are obtained and the essence of the different parameters on non-Darcy-Benard double diffusive Marangoni convection are investigated in detail.

Morphology and Dynamical Properties of Ultra-Relativistic Jets

  • We study the structures and dynamics of flows generated by ultra-relativistic jets on kpc scales through three-dimensional relativistic hydrodynamics (RHD) simulations. We employ a newly developed RHD code, equipped with the WENO-Z reconstruction, the SSPRK time discretization, and an equation of state that closely approximates the single-component perfect gas in relativistic regime. Exploring a set of models with various parameters, we confirm that the well-known Fanaroff-Riley dichotomy is primarily determined by the jet power, whereas the morphology of simulated jets also depends on the secondary parameters such as the momentum injection rate and the ratio of the jet to background pressure. Utilizing high resolution capabilities of the newly developed code, we examine in detail the dynamical properties of complex flows in different parts of jet-produced structures, and present the statistics of nonlinear dynamics such as shock, shear, and turbulence.

Combining Adaptive Filtering and IF Flows to Detect DDoS Attacks within a Router

  • Traffic matrix-based anomaly detection and DDoS attacks detection in networks are research focus in the network security and traffic measurement community. In this paper, firstly, a new type of unidirectional flow called IF flow is proposed. Merits and features of IF flows are analyzed in detail and then two efficient methods are introduced in our DDoS attacks detection and evaluation scheme. The first method uses residual variance ratio to detect DDoS attacks after Recursive Least Square (RLS) filter is applied to predict IF flows. The second method uses generalized likelihood ratio (GLR) statistical test to detect DDoS attacks after a Kalman filter is applied to estimate IF flows. Based on the two complementary methods, an evaluation formula is proposed to assess the seriousness of current DDoS attacks on router ports. Furthermore, the sensitivity of three types of traffic (IF flow, input link and output link) to DDoS attacks is analyzed and compared. Experiments show that IF flow has more power to expose anomaly than the other two types of traffic. Finally, two proposed methods are compared in terms of detection rate, processing speed, etc., and also compared in detail with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) methods. The results demonstrate that adaptive filter methods have higher detection rate, lower false alarm rate and smaller detection lag time.

  • HDR (high dynamic range) 영상을 LDR (low dynamic range) 영상으로 변환할 때 톤 맵핑 (tone mapping) 과정은 필수적이다. 많은 TMO (tone mapping operator)는 인간 시각 시스템의 특성들을 모방하여 발달되어 왔고 그 중 가장 대표적인 시각 특성이 국부 순응 방식이다. 그러나 TMO는 밝기나 명암, 채도 등의 영상 정보들을 압축하여 LDR 영상으로 대응시키기 때문에 압축에 의한 화질 저하가 나타난다. 본 논문에서는 TMO에 의한 화질 저하 보상을 위해 인간 시각의 선명도 특성을 기저 및 세부 영상 분할 처리에 적용하여 휘도 적응적 에지 보존 함수를 제안했다. 또한, 인간 시각 시스템에서 공간 주파수와 대비 민감도 사이의 관계를 나타내는 CSF (contrast sensitivity function)를 이용하여 선명화 필터를 설계하고, 이를 배경 휘도에 따라 적응적으로 적용하였다.

쌀의 KOH 농도별 붕괴양상에 따른 품종변이 해석 (Analysis of Varietal Variation in Alkali Digestion of Milled Rice at Several Levels of Alkali Concentration)

  • 우리나라 주요 벼 재배품종 및 신육성계통(자포니카: 25품종, 통일형:8품종)에 대한 쌀 알칼리 붕괴성의 품종적 특이성을 분시검토하여 보고자 KOH 농도를 0.8-1.8까지 0.2% 간격으로 처리하여 농도별 쌀의 알칼리 붕괴반응을 조사하고 주성분분석법을 적용하여 품종적 유형을 분류하였다. 주성분분석에서 상위 2개 주성분치의 변이가 전변이량의 92%을 차지하였고 제1 및 제2 주요분치 좌표상의 품종분포에 따라 크게 4개 유형으로 군집화 시킬 수 있었다. 제 I 군에서는 전 KOH 농도에 걸쳐 거의 비슷하게 알칼리 붕괴성(ADV)가 낮은 도봉벼만 유일하게 분포하였고, 제 II군에는 1.4% KOH 농도에서 중간정도의 ADV 이면서 고-저 알칼리 농도 ADV간차가 중도인 백운찰벼, 신선찰벼 및 수원 34002 등 찰벼가 포함되어 있었다. 제 III군에는 1.4% KOH 농도에서 중-중고의 ADV 이면서 저-고 KOH 농도간 ADV 변화가 심했던 대부분의 통일형 품종과 자포니카 조생계가 분포되어 있었고 육도농림찰 001와 한강 찰벼등은 이 유형에 포함되어 있었다. 제 IV군에는 1.4% KOH 농도에서 ADV가 중고이상으로 높으면서 고-저 알칼리 농도 ADV간차가 중-중고인 중생 및 중만생 자포니카 품종들이 주로 분포 하였으며 조생인 금조벼가 이 유형에 속하였다. 여기서 제 1 주성분은 전 알칼리 농도에서 평균적으로 표현되는 붕괴성 정도였고 제 2 주성분은 저-고 KOH 농도의 ADV간 차 또는 KOH 농도에 따른 ADV 변화의 회귀계수와 밀접하게 관련된 요소였다. 1.2%-1.4% KOH 농도에서의 ADV는 저-고 KOH 농도간 ADV차와 2차 곡선 회귀계수를 나타내었다.
