A rational and logical sense of design often found in modernism(including minimalism) sometime deal with the criticism that such characteristics which derived from those of modernism, lack emotion31 qualities(arises from human feelings). It consequently took them to adopt traditional designs in the past, creating such conditions that constantly escapes from‘present’ one and back to the‘new’. This mode develops a trend in current interior design which decorative elements such as art work: traditional arts, folk crafts, flowers and green are much evident. Thus, using many decorative elements of the past(what was once banned since modernism), brings up the interesting point of view that needs to be discussed a new decorative trend if today's interior design. It will approach by comparing significances of past decorative expressions with present through which investigation, will show a better understanding of recent characteristics in interior designing, a.k.a, a current trend since minimalism, embracing important qualities of culture, ecology and people - against today's less-inspired, standardizing spaces.

The purpose of research will establish the foundation to enhance the skills of Railway Color Design in the future by accurately analysing the Railway Color characteristics. The emotion and demnds of times influences trend of Railway Color Design, the contents of this research also reflects trend in society and culture. The research contains the history of Railway Design and advance research of Railway Color trend especially influenced by society and culture in the from the 1960's to the year 2005. The study is based on the concept of Railway Color Design. it analyzed the related current of society, culture and Railway Color. Collected Railway Color samples(Railway 46 images) were studied by using visual sensation. The Munsell Color System was used as references. This research analyzed railway introduced as railway models by top 4 nation (United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan) and Korea in the past years(1960-2005) for their Railway Color Design trend by Munsell Color System. Although the Railway industry has rapidly risen according to life style in society and culture, there has been a lack of organized data for Railway Color Planing. this research on the basis will offer the significant information for Railway Color Design.

This study investigates the multidimensional structure of apparel design evaluation criteria and the details of each criterion by exploring how female college students majoring in apparel design in their 20s evaluate apparel design based on an exploratory approach. Data were analyzed through a categorization method of qualitative data after collecting from a literature review and three focus group interviews. The results identified the six evaluation criteria of apparel design (functional usefulness, convenience, aesthetics, psychological self suitability, social activity usefulness, and fashion trend). Functional usefulness and convenience assessed the extent to which primary features of apparel are reflected in apparel design, and aesthetics evaluated the aesthetic beauty of apparel design. Psychological self suitability estimated the extent to which apparel design expressed psychological self properly, and social activity usefulness appraised the extent to which apparel design contributed to the social activities of wearers. Last, fashion trend assessed the extent to which apparel design reflected fashion trend. The study results provide meaningful implications towards an apparel industry that wants to develop apparel design that appeals to consumers, educational institutions that aim to cultivate well-trained professionals in the apparel industry, and consumers who want to purchase clothes of satisfactory design.

The attempt of the contemporary society to overcome the environmental crisis is considered what the whole world is currently interested in. Since value of resources recycling has become emphasized even more, the field of design is, now, working hard to prove how much they are passionate about this eco-friendly design. Of all those activities that the field of design is involving in, a concept called 'upcycling' is receiving the greatest spotlight as a new trend. When it comes to upcycling, you should understand it as a both functional and aesthetic upgraded idea of conventional 'recycling' which would re-use waste resources. With this upcycling, you will have a chance to re-create an object of a new value, and it is a design concept which would consider environmental aspects but also social aspects. Since the year of 2000, the field of furniture design has been pursuing a new design trend which would intensively concern this upcycling concept. In the light of the present circumstances described on the above, this study conducts a case analysis on how upcycling of different materials is applied to furniture design since the year 2000. In doing so, the study improve understanding on furniture design as proposing new ways for you to look at the concerned design. Not only that, it also comes up with ideas and directions for new upcycling furniture design which could be demanded by the environmental industry.

최근 제품개발의 추세는 디자인전문회사가 클라이언트와 협력하여 초기 제품기획단계부터 최종생산까지의 모든 과정을 함께 진행하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 최근의 추세에 맞도록 개선된 실무적 관리 프로세스를 제시하기로 한다. 기존의 프로세스들은 제품디자인 개발과정을 시장조사부터 디자인, 설계, 생산 등의 단계로 요약하여 언급해 왔기 때문에 최근의 추세에 맞추기 위해서는 제품디자인 개발의 모든 단계들을 설명하는 확대된 프로세스가 필요하다. 제품디자인 개발의 모든 과정은 초기 Initial Meeting의 단계에서 출발하여 계약, Kick-Off Meeting, 시장조사, 디자인컨셉 설정, Idea Sketch, Rendering 디자인 도면, 디자인 목업, 디자인 매뉴얼, 기구 설계, ES 목업, 금형 설계 및 제작, 시 사출, 양산, 특허 출원까지의 프로세스들을 포함한다. 따라서, 하나의 제품디자인개발 프로세스를 진행하고 관리하기 위해서는 모든 단계들에 대한 충분한 이해 및 지식이 있어야 한다. 본 프로세스의 장점은 1)제품개발과정을 이해하고, 2)최종디자인과 양산제품이 일치하고, 3)시장조사로 정확한 디자인정보를 수집하고, 4)완성도 높은 제품디자인을 제시하는 데 있다. 본 실무적 관리프로세스는 제품디자인 개발과 관련된 모든 과정들을 분석함으로써 개선된 체계를 제안하며, 제품디자인개발의 다양한 환경 속에서 응용될 수 있다.

There are various form of public elements in modern urban space. These public elements mingle with sociocultural elements which consist of each city, determining urban environment's image. Especially, since the social value of design becomes important, the social role of public design has been emphasized as an effective value for public interest and environment. It is just about 10 years since design mind in the public sector has been made domestically. Even though domestic public design has been studied not so long, it has developed with radical change of social culture and science technology. This study targets public environment in modern dense urban space. Also, it grasps the trend of public design studies through analysing and documentary survey of the existing studies, and based on that result, aims at presenting the direction that domestic public design studies should progress. This study selected 253 theses(1989.6~2015.11) by collecting primary, secondary data about public design studies, and implemented overall meta-analysing about the trend of domestic public design studies. As a result, public design has been studied intensively in the field of design about environment, architecture, etc. The trend analyzing of study purpose and keyword has a tendency which is weighted towards exploratory study focused on suggestion and development about object and realm of public design. The trend analyzing of study area tends to study overall part of public space or public facility rather than specific area and object. The most parts of studies analyze domestic area, especially Seoul metropolitan area. Also, the study method weighted in favor of some qualitative analysis has been utilized.

본 연구의 목적은 디자인 프로세스를 기반으로 창의성과 연계된 공간디자인 교육의 연구 동향을 파악하는 것이다. 이를 위해 문헌 분석을 바탕으로 창의적 디자인 프로세스를 정리하고, 공간디자인 교육과 다른 디자인 분야의 창의성 교육 연구동향을 함께 비교, 분석하였다. 연구결과, 공간디자인의 창의성 연계 교육연구는 다른 디자인교육에 비해 빈도가 낮았으며, 디자인프로세스 중 아이디어의 조형적 표현에 관련된 연구가 많았다. 이에 반해 타 디자인분야의 창의성 교육은 전체 프로세스와 연계된 것이 가장 많았고, 주요내용은 IT기법의 활용, 학습이론의 활용, 융합을 통한 창의성증진으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 향후 공간디자인 프로세스 전반에서 다양한 교육시도들이 요구되며, 새로운 IT기술은 물론 디지털과 아날로그의 통합적 접근과 인문학과 과학, 과학과 예술의 융합의 방향으로 나아가야 함을 시사하고 있다.

Hybrid trend of the 21st century is an important basis to express fashion Alexander McQueen is a representative designer of Hybrid trend which combines heterogeneous elements into oneconcept. Accordingly, this study distributed and analyzed Hybrid trend which was in Alexander McQueen's work like below. First, there was a racial Hybrid trend which combined different local culture in shared space of the world in his fashion work and he challenged to Westernized ideal beauty with new recognition and knowledge about beside countries of Western Europe which were considered as not important culture due to perceiving relative value of a pluralist society and created new way aesthetic consciousness. Second, he expressed a historical character of a combination of tradition and modern by his fashion work based on wide historical knowledge of a dress. He created a new line in contrast to the past with a perfect design through combination of the style from the tradition with the parody and displayed his own design world. Third, he treated instability and disorder from the interior essential dissolution, thus he had a cultural character which broke down the boundary of cultural genre and style. This attitude showed transformation of constructivism and deconstruction view, secession and distortion, mixture, duplication, secession and insert by his fashion work.

최근 한반도에서는 이상기후 및 기후변화의 영향으로 인한 피해가 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자료기간에 따른 확률강우량의 변화 특성에 대하여 분석하였다. 분석 대상 자료는 기상청에서 관할하고 있는 관측소 중에서 비교적 장기간의 자료를 보유하고 있는 14개 지점을 선정하였다. 선정된 지점에서 강우자료의 관측년수를 기준으로 5가지 경우로 구분하여 빈도해석을 실시하였다. 빈도해석 결과, 우리나라 대부분 지역에서 확률강우량이 뚜렷하게 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 관측된 강우량 자료와 확률강우량 자료를 이용한 변동성과 경향성 분석을 실시하였다. 통계적 분석 결과에서 강우자료는 변동성과 경향성이 거의 나타나지 않았으나, 확률강우량 자료에서는 변동성과 경향성이 다수 나타나는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 대부분의 지점에서 변동성 및 경향성에 의해 확률강우량이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 확률강우량의 변화에 대한 수공구조물 등의 설계 및 기존의 홍수 방어능력에 대한 검토 필요성을 의미한다.

Norman Foster has done about 300 projects over the world and has been understood as a global architect for sustainable design on various areas including urban design, architecture, interior, transport and furniture. The trend of Forster's work which had been changed positively as experimental trials from 1960 has established his design trend for sustainable design. The characteristics of Norman Foster's sustainable design leading the trend of contemporary architecture over the limit of the high-tech architecture is researched through the project report, literature, field study and interview based on sustainability aspects which are social, environment and economy especially. For systematic classification and modern analysis of Norman Foster's architecture, the research is analyzed architectural characteristics on case works focused on architecture and urban design after the middle of 1980 when Norman Foster's sustainable design was emerged clearly. Consequently, the research could be a substantial process for understanding sustainable design as current outstanding ideas which makes Norman Foster overcome his limit of Post-high tech architecture through looking at his spatial identity.
