임베디드 환경에서 실시간 가상 터치 인식 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of Real-time Virtual Touch Recognition System in Embedded System)

  • We can implement the virtual touch recognition system by mounting the virtual touch algorithm into an embedded device connected to a depth camera. Since the computing performance is limited in embedded system, the real-time processing of recognizing the virtual touch is difficult when the resolution of the depth image is large. In order to resolve the problem, this paper improves the algorithms of binarization and labeling that occupy a lot of time in all processing of virtual touch recognition. It processes the binarization and labeling in only necessary regions rather than all of the picture. By appling the proposed algorithm, the system can recognize the virtual touch in real-time as about 31ms per a frame in the depth image that has 640×480 resolution.

열화상 비파괴 검사법을 이용한 도로포장 결함 검출 (Detecting of the defects of pavement of a road by using infrared thermography)

  • The purpose of this paper is to find an limitation to detect the defect of damaged asphalt pavement structures for infrared thermography. We use heat source of a natural light to detect the defect efficiently. The heat source was applied to the asphalt specimens. Four asphalt specimens were used: one was the asphalt containing depth of 1cm internal timber, two was the asphalt containing depth of 2cm internal void, Three was the asphalt containing depth of 3cm internal timber and four was not the asphalt containing internal timber. It was found that the depth of 3cm internal timber could be detected by this method. In addition, we used the image processing to make the damage zone displayed clear in the image obtained from the thermographic operation.

Real-time Implementation of Character Movement by Floating Hologram based on Depth Video

  • In this paper, we implement to make the character content with the floating hologram. The floating hologram is the one of hologram techniques for projecting the 2D image to represent the 3D image in the air using the glass panel. The floating hologram technique is easy to apply and is used in exhibitions, corporate events, and advertising events. This paper uses both the depth information and the unreal engine for the floating hologram. Simulation results show that this method can make the character content to follow the movement of the user in the real time by capturing the depth video.

입체화상으로부터 3차원 마이크로계의 효과적인 깊이측정 (An Efficient Depth Measurement of 3D Microsystem from Stereo Images)

  • This study represents the efficient depth measurement for 3-dimensional microsystems using the disparity histogram from stereo images. Implementation of user-friendly Windows program written in C++ involves the various methods for the stereo-image processing in which the minimization of matching-pixel error upon the unique point for stereo images was carried out as a pre-processing method. Even though MPC among various methods was adopted in the present measurement, the resulting measurements seem to require optimizations of the windows sizes and corrections of post-manipulation for stereo images. The present work using Windows program is promising to measure the 3-dimensional depth of micro-system efficiently in implementing the 3-dimensional structure of micro-systems.

  • In this paper, we present a novel method for reconstructing a super-resolution image using multi-view low-resolution images captured for depth varying scene without requiring complex analysis such as depth estimation and feature matching. The proposed method is based on the iterative back projection technique that is extended to the 3D volume domain (i.e., space + depth), unlike the conventional superresolution methods that handle only 2D translation among captured images.

  • Depth error correction effect for maladjusted stereo cameras with calibrated pixel distance parameter is presented. The camera calibration is a necessary procedure for stereo vision-based depth computation. Intra and extra parameters should be obtain to determine the relation between image and world coordination through experiment. One difficulty is in camera alignment for parallel installation: placing two CCD arrays in a plane. No effective methods for such alignment have been presented before. Some amount of depth error caused from such non-parallel installation of cameras is inevitable. If the pixel distance parameter which is one of intra parameter is calibrated with known points, such error can be compensated in some amount. Such error compensation effect with the calibrated pixel distance parameter is demonstrated with various experimental results.

  • 3D technology is main factor in Augmented Reality. Depth map is essential to make cubic effect using 2d image. There are a lot of ways to construct Depth map. Among them, stereo matching is mainly used. This paper presents how to generate depth map using stereo matching. For stereo matching, existing Dynamic programming method is used. To make accurate stereo matching, High-Boost Filter is applied to preprocessing method. As a result, when depth map is generated, accuracy based on Ground Truth soared.

  • The stereoscopic vision system is the algorithm to obtain the depth of target object of stereo vision image. This paper presents an efficient disparity matching method using blue edge filter and graph cut algorithm. We do recommend the use of the simple sobel edge operator. The application of B band sobel edge operator over image demonstrates result with somewhat noisy (distinct border). The basic technique is to construct a specialized graph for the energy function to be minimized such that the minimum cut on the graph also minimizes the energy (either globally or locally). This method has the advantage of saving a lot of data. We propose a preprocessing effective stereo matching method based on sobel algorithm which uses blue edge information and the graph cut, we could obtain effective depth map.

  • 본 논문에서는 multi-view 영상 디코딩 알고리듬을 구현하는 디코더의 구조를 제안하였다. 현재까지 multi-view 영상 처리를 위한 하드웨어 구조에 관한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 제안한 multi-view) 영상디코더는 3 단계 파이프라인 방식으로 동작하며, 매 클럭마다 디코드된 영상의 화소 값을 추출한다. Multi-view 영상 디코더는 3 부분으로 구성된다. 노드의 값을 반복적으로 전송하는 Node Selector, 4개의 노드 값으로부터 각 화소의 값을 추출하는 Depth Extractor와 주어진 시점과 화소의 깊이 값으로부터 영상평면에 투영되는 위치를 생성하는 Affine Transformer로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 구조는 MAX+PLUS II 설계 툴로 설계되었고 시뮬레이션을 수행하였으며, 동작 주파수는 30㎒이다. 제안된 구조를 갖는 디코더로 영상을 실시간으로 복원할 수 있다.

A New Depth and Disparity Visualization Algorithm for Stereoscopic Camera Rig

  • In this paper, we present the effect of binocular cues which plays crucial role for the visualization of a stereoscopic or 3D image. This study is useful in extracting depth and disparity information by image processing technique. A linear relation between the object distance and the image distance is presented to discuss the cause of cybersickness. In the experimental results, three dimensional view of the depth map between the 2D images is shown. A median filter is used to reduce the noises available in the disparity map image. After the median filter, two filter algorithms such as 'Gabor' filter and 'Canny' filter are tested for disparity visualization between two images. The 'Gabor' filter is to estimate the disparity by texture extraction and discrimination methods of the two images, and the 'Canny' filter is used to visualize the disparity by edge detection of the two color images obtained from stereoscopic cameras. The 'Canny' filter is better choice for estimating the disparity rather than the 'Gabor' filter because the 'Canny' filter is much more efficient than 'Gabor' filter in terms of detecting the edges. 'Canny' filter changes the color images directly into color edges without converting them into the grayscale. As a result, more clear edges of the stereo images as compared to the edge detection by 'Gabor' filter can be obtained. Since the main goal of the research is to estimate the horizontal disparity of all possible regions or edges of the images, thus the 'Canny' filter is proposed for decipherable visualization of the disparity.
