간호사의 윤리적 가치관에 관한 연구 (A study of the Ethical Values of Korean Nurses)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify whether ethical values of korean nurses are deontological or utilitarian. Nurse's ethical value questionnaire was developed from review of literature and interview of nurses in the clinical settings. Content validity was tested from three nursing faculties and staffs. Ethical problems are categorized into four areas : 1) human life area 2) nurse-patient relationship area 3) nurse - nursing task relationship area 4) nurse-collegue relationship area The data were obtained from the 404 nurses in the clinical settings from Feb. to Mar. in 1990 by ethical value questionnaire. The analysis of data was done by Pearson's correlation coefficient, t-test, anova. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The ethical values of human life slightly took up the position of utilitarian. 2. The ethical values of nurse - patient relationships slightly took up deontological position. 3. The ethical values of nurse - nursing task relationships slightly took up deontological position. 4. The ethical values of nurse - colleague relationships greatly took up deontological position. 5. The ethics of nurses related to demographic characteristics of religion, attitude of nursing, ethical standards, education level and post. Those who have religion took up more deontological position than those who have not. Those who have positive attitude of nursing and firm ethical standards took up more deontological position than those who have not. Those who have higher education level and post took up more deontological position than those who have not.

  • This study was conducted to identify the attitude of ethical dilemmas in hospital nurses. Ethical dilemmas were categorized into four areas : human life area, clients area, nursing practice area, and nurses-co-worker area. 354 nurses working in clinical settings were selected in Seoul and Kangwon area. Data were gathered from 26, June to 10, July, 1994 by structured guestionnaires. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze the data. The results obtained from data were as follows : 1) In human life area mean score was 3.03. This area showed remarkabale individual differences between utilitarian and deontological position. 2) In clients area mean score was 3.94. It means that nurses tend to take a deontological position. 3) In nursing practice area mean score was 3.41. It means that nurses tend to take a slightly deontological position. 4) In nurses-co-worker area mean score was 3.88. It means that nurses tend to take a deontological position. To conclude, clinents area, nursing practice area, and nurses-co-worker area taken deontological position. Most nurse's primary concern was the 'welfare of the patients' which is to fundamental ethical professional practice. But nurses experienced more ethical dilemmas in human life area than others. Therefore, nurses should be prepared to make in-dependent decision that based on bio-ethics and professional ethics.

치위생학생의 윤리적 가치관에 관한 연구 (A study on the ethical values of dental hygiene students)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the ethical values of dental hygiene students and set up the way of ethic educationin educational course. Methods: The subjects in this study were 948 students in four colleges located in the metropolitan area, on whom a survey was conducted. Results : 1. Regarding values of human life, they got a mean of 3.01, which showed that they sort of took a deontological view. 2. As to values of dental hygiene duties, they got a mean of 3.62, which indicated that they took a deontological view. 3. Concerning values of clients, they got a mean of 3.22, which implied that they took a deontological view. 4. As for values of collaborators, they got a mean of 3.90, which denoted that they took a very deontological view. 5. In regard to correlation among each part of their ethical values, there was a very significant correlation between their views of dental hygiene duties and human life, and between their views of clients and collaborators(p<.001). 6. As to the relationship of general characteristics to ethical values, they took a significantly different view of human life according to academic year(p<.05), religion(p<.001), religious enthusiasm(p<.0010) and attitude to the occupation of dental hygienist(p<.001). Academic year Conclusions : Regardings ethical values of dental hygiene students which showed that they took a deontological view than autilitarianism view in all parts. Accordingly, In order to establish desirable ethical values, it was scrutinized that reinforcement of education on biomedical ethics and professional ethics in curriculum was needed.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify whether ethical values of nursing students are deontological or utilitarinian. The subjects of this study were consisted of 163 nursing students. The data was collected from September 3 to 30, 1997. Sub-scale of Nursing Ethical Values(Lee, 1990) were used to measure human life area, nurse-patient relationship area, nurse-nursing task relationship area, nurse-colleague relationship area. Data were analyzed by SPSS for Windows program. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1. The students took the position of utilitarian slightly in human life area. 2. The students took deontological position slightly in nurse-patient relationships area. 3. The students took deontological position slightly in nurse-nursing task relationships area. 4. The students took deontological position greatly in nurse-colleague relationships area. 5. There were significant relationship between nurse-colleague relationship area and both human life area and nurse-patient relationship area(p< .01). 6. The ethical values of human life area related to religion(p< .01) and attitude of nursing(p< .05). The ethical values of nurse-colleague relationships area related to attitude of nursing(p< .01).

  • This study was conducted to identify the attitude of ethical dilemmas (human life area. clients area. nursing practice area. and nurses-co-worker area) in hospital nurses. 169 nurses working in clinical setting were selected Inchon area. Data were gathered from 5. march to 30. 1998 by structured questionnaires. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze the data. The results obtained from data were as follows. 1) In human life area mean score was 3.17. This area showed remarkerble individual differences between utilitarian and deontological position. 2) In clients area mean score was 3.99. It means that nurses tend to take a deontological position. 3) In nursing practice area mean score was 3.44. It means that nurses tend to take a slightly deontological position. 4) In nurses-co-worker area mean score was 3.84. It means that nurses tend to take a deontological position. 5) There were significant relationship between human life area & clients area. nursing practice area (P<.0l). nurses-eo-worker area (P<.05). There were significant relationship between client area & nursing practice area (P<.05). nurses-co-worker area (P<.01). There were significant relationship between nursing practice area & nurses-co-worker area (P<.01).

  • The purse of this study is to identify whether ethical values of Korean nurses are deontological or utilitarian. Ethical problem are categorized into four areas 1) human life 2) nurse-patient relationship 3) nurse-nursing task relationship 4) nurse-collegue relationship The data were obtained from 250 nurses in the clinical settings from Jun. to July in 1998 using the ethical value questionnaire developed by Lee (1990). The analysis of data was done by Pearson's correlation coefficient, t-test and anova. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The ethical values of human life slightly took up the position of utilitarian. 2. The ethical value of nurse-patient relationship slightly took up the deontological position. 3. The ethical value of nurse-nursing task relationship slightly took up the deontological position. 4. The ethical value of nurse-collegue relationship greatly took up the deontological position. 5. The ethical values of nurses related to demographic characteristics of age, marital status, position. Therefore it is suggested that new strategies and continuing education programs be established to help clinical nurses formlulate higher ethical values.

응급구조과 학생의 윤리적 가치관 (Ethical Values of EMT Students)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to examine the ethical values of EMT students. Method: The results below were based on the revised questionnaires, which can be applicable to EMT from the using questionnaires by Kim(2001), with a sample of 140 students consisting of 50 freshman, 40 sophomore and junior 50, conducted October 9-11, 2006. Data were analyzed using SPSS 13.0 in terms of means and standard deviation, $x^2$-test, one way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis. Results: The ethical value was deontological ethics and statistically significant difference between three groups(F=3.072, p<0.049). Means and standard deviation of freshman is $2.86{\pm}0.28$, sophomore is $2.75{\pm}0.25$, junior is $2.88{\pm}0.21$. In the area of Human life, subjects showed utilitarian disposition. But there were no statistically significant difference between three groups. In the area of patient relationship, all students of three groups took on deontological ethics, but there were no statistically significant difference. In the area of task relationship, all students of three groups took on deontological ethics, but there were no statistically significant difference. In the area of coworker relationship, all students of three groups took on deontological ethics, but there were no statistically significant difference. As a results of multiple regresstion analysis, the associated factors with ethical values were second students, participation of ethical education, a firm belief of ethical values. Conclusion: This results showed that education of ethical values must instruct to EMT students. More and more, It is necessary to make an further application tool of EMT.

  • This study was conducted to identify the ethical values of clinical nurses. 119 nurses working in clinical setting were selected Gwangju city and Chunnam area. Data were gathered from April. 1 to June. 27, 2001 by structured questionares. Analysis of data was done by SPSS using percentage, t-test, one-way ANOVA, pearson's correlation. The results obtained from data were as follows : 1. The ethical values of human life area slightly took up the position of utilitarian. In human life area mean score was 2.41. This area showed remarkerble individual differences between utilitarian and deontological position. 2. The ethical values of clients area took up the position of utilitarian position. In clients area mean score was 1.75. 3. The ethical values of nursing practice area took up deontological position. In nursing practice area mean score was 2.58. 4. The ethical values of nurses-co-worker area took up deontological position. In nurses- co-worker area mean score was 2.94. 5. Those who have younger, higher education level, less job experience, singles, religion, lower position, positive attitude of nursing and firm ethical standard took up more deontological position than those who have not. 6. There were significant relationship between human life area & client area(r=.566 p=.000), nursing practice area(r=.698 p=.000). There were significant relationship between client area & nursing practice area(r=.342 p=.001). There were significant relationship between nursing practice area & nurses-co-worker area(r=.491 p=.001).

악셀 호네트의 인정이론적 도덕 구상의 의무론적 재구조화를 위한 시도 (Restructuring Axel Honnet's Conception of Morality based on the Theory of Recognition from a Deontological Perspective)

  • 이 연구는 악셀 호네트의 인정이론의 규범적 토대를 이루는 인정이론적 도덕 구상을 체계적으로 검토하면서, 호네트의 의도나 전체 이론기획에 비춰볼 때 그 도덕 구상을 의무론적으로 재구조화할 필요가 있음을 제시하고자 한다. 이 연구의 결과는 발굴이면서 동시에 재구조화일 것이다. 인정이론에서 지금까지 사람들이 인식했던 것보다 훨씬 더 많은 칸트적 요소를 발굴해 내면서, 동시에 호네트 자신의 구상에 반해서, 칸트의 인간 존엄성 이념이 인정의 세 가지 인정형식의 규범적 토대로 명시적으로 도입되어야 함을 역설할 것이다. 그렇게 의무론적으로 재구조화된 도덕 구상이 호네트의 의도와 인정이론의 기획에 더 잘 부합한다는 것을 보이는 것이 이 연구의 최종 목표다.

의무론에 대한 신경과학의 도전: 도덕교육에의 시사 (Neuroscientific Challenges to deontological theory: Implications to Moral Education)

  • 신경과학 연구에서 첨단 영상기술의 도입은 사변적 논의에 머물었던 철학적 개념이나 주장에 대해서 사실적 토대에 접근할 수 있는 계기를 제공했다. 윤리학과 도덕 심리학계의 일부 학자들 사이에는 도덕 판단의 근거를 fMRI와 같은 기법을 활용하여 신경 과정 현상에서 규명하려는 움직임이 일고 있다. 조쉬아 그린은, 도덕 판단 일반이 무의식이나 직관에 의해서 이루어진다는 사회적 직관주의의 입장을 개별 도덕이론들에 적용하고자 한다. 그린에 의하면, 의무론은 실제 이성에 의한 결과에 따른 규범적 주장이 아니라 진화에 의해 형성된 도덕적 감정에 의해 유도된 심리적 유형이며, 그러한 감정적 반응을 이성적 추론에 의한 것으로 생각하는 경향은 사후 합리화, 일종의 작화증(作話症)의 발로라고 주장한다. 그린은 더 나아가 의무론 본래의 이론은 규범적 관점에서 타당한 입론을 보장할 수 없으며, 공적 영역에서의 의사결정에 있어서 결과론적 원리가 희망적인 관점이라고 제안한다. 이에, 본 논문은 그린의 논증 과정을 분석하여 재구성하였고, 그린의 논증에는 도덕 판단에 대한 이해, 가설 설정과 검증 자료의 제시와 해석, 그리고 의무론에 대한 조작적 정의와 규범적 평가 등에 있어서 의문점이 제기되고 있음을 밝혔다. 더 나아가 그린의 연구 방법과 결과와 문제점 등이 우리 도덕(과)교육에 시사할 수 있는 바를 정리하였다. 도덕에 관한 과도한 과학주의와 사변적 논의에 대한 경계, 도덕성 본질에 대한 이해 지평의 확대와 신경윤리학과 뇌교육에서 도덕교육의 영역 탐색 등이 언급된다.
