De-NOx facility using Selective Catalytic Reduction method is the most widely applied one that removes NOx from flue gas emitted from combustion facility such as boiler for power generation engine incinerator etc. Reductant $NH_3\;or\;NH_4OH$ is sprayed into flue gas to convert NOx into $H_2O$ and $N_2.$ Good mixing between flue gas and $NH_3$ is the most important factor to increase reduction in catalytic layer and to reduce unreacted NH3 slip. Therefore the development of mixer device for mixing effect is one of the important part for SCR facility. Objectives of this study are to investigate the relation between flow and concentration field by observation at the wake of delta-wing type mixer. At the first stage qualitative measurement of flow field is conducted by flow visualization using laser light sheet in lab. scale wind tunnel. Also we have conducted the quantitative analysis by comparing flow field measurement using LDV with numerical simulation. On the basis of qualitative and quantitative analysis we investigate the dis-tribution of flow and concentration in flow model facility. The results of an experimental and compu-tational examination of the vortex structures shed from delta wing type vortex generator having $40^{\circ}$ angle of attack are presented, The effects of vortex structure on the gas mixing is discussed, too.

At high angles of attack, aircraft dynamics can display an oscillatory lateral behavior that manifests itself as a limit cycle known as wing rock. In this paper, a classical and neural network based adaptive control design methods of adaptively stabilizing the oscillatory motion by adapting uncertainties are described in detail. All methods are simulated and compared using a model for an 80o swept delta wing.

Highly swept leading edge extensions(LEX) applied to delta wings have greatly improved the subsonic maneuverability of contemporary fighters. Fundamental approach by PIV method was adopted to study the basic flow of the vortex pair formation appearing on a delta wing model with or without LEX. Three angles of attacks$(16^{\circ},\;24^{\circ},\;28^{\circ})$ and four measuring section of chord length(LEX-on) and three section(LEX-off) were selected as experimental conditions. From the PIV analysis, maximum vorticity was found at a given chord length and maximum velocity was also detected at larger chord length where stronger vortex was generated. Furthermore, the effect of LEX was remarkable at the vortex pair distance indicating narrower distance at LEX-on case.

A numerical method for the assessment and correction of tunnel wall interference effects on forced-oscillation testing is presented. The method is based on the wall pressure signature method using computed wall pressure distributions. The wall pressure field is computed using unsteady three-dimensional full Navier-Stokes solver for a 70-degree pitching delta wing in a wind tunnel. Approximately-factorized alternate direction implicit (AF-ADI) scheme is advanced in time by solving block tri-diagonal matrices. The algebraic Baldwin-Lomax turbulence, model is included to simulate the turbulent flow effect. Also, dual time sub-iteration with, local, time stepping is implemented to improve the convergence. The computed wall pressure field is then imposed as boundary conditions for Euler re-simulation to obtain the interference flow field. The static computation shows good agreement with experiments. The dynamic computation demonstrates reasonable physical phenomena with a good convergence history. The effects of the tunnel wall in upwash and blockage are analyzed using the computed interference flow field for several reduced frequencies and amplitudes. The corrected results by pressure signature method agree well with the results of free air conditions.

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effects of leading edge extension(LEX) on the surface prssure distribution over a delta wing in a subsonic wind tunnel. Freestream velocity was 40m/sec and Reynolds number per meter was 1.7x$10^6$ with total pressure of 101Pa and total temperature of 278K. LEX changed the surface pressure distribution on the wing dramatically. Comparing with the results without LEX, the peak of pressure distribution decreased on the front chordwise location but it turned to increase on the rear chordwise location with increase of the angle of attaci. The spanwise gradient of the pressure distribution also increased in the rear chordwise location. Without LEX, the peak of pressure distribution increased and decreased irregularly with increase of the angle of attack at each chordwise location, but LEX made it increased almost linearly with increase of the angle of attack at all of the chordwise locations.

The effects of sideslip on the vortex over a delta wing was investigated experimentallu at a free strean velocity of 40 m/sec, corresponding to a Reynolds number of 1.76$\times$$10^6$, based on the root chord. The angles of attack ranged from $16{^{\circ}}$ to $28{^{\circ}}$, and the sideslip angles treated were $0{^{\circ}}$, $-10{^{\circ}}$, and $-20{^{\circ}}$. It was observed that the sideslip decreased the strengths of the vortices of both windward and leeward sides of the wing, and promoted the vortex breakdown on the windward side. At sideslip angle of $-10{^{\circ}}$, the vortex strength of leeward side was increased as the angle of attack increased. This asymmetric development and breakdown of vortices in sideslip condition would cause an abrubt change of the rolling moment at a high angle of of attack, which could be considered as a rolling moment instability.
It is known that an aircraft with delta-wings which are attached to the body at a large angle like a kite or a hang glider has a measure of maneuverability and stability. Aircrafts of this kind can fly stably. Even if engine trouble occurs, it will not fall and might be able to land. In this paper, one of the conventional control methods, PID control, is applied to the aircraft with LQ local control block. This is based on an idea that the aircraft flies so stably that the automatic control system might be realized by a simple controller. The proposed PID controller consists of several sub-controllers which are constructed to each system neglecting the interference. In addition, the LQ control is involved as a local loop of the aileron and rudder control in order to increase stability of the attitude when circling. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown through 3D computer simulations and experiments of the flight path control.

A structured grid system can be efficiently constructed by applying the patched-grid algorithm that alleviates many constraints of the conventional structured grid system. Three approaches were applied to case 4 of the EFD-CFD workshop: delta wing-cylindrical body shape to solve the existing grid generation problems and verify the results by comparing them with experimental data. Surface pressure distributions slightly differed from the experimental data at high angles of attack. The slope variation of the pitching moment with Mach number is analyzed and the variation can be explained with the tuck under phenomenon. In the supersonic region, the bow shock waves in front of the shape expand the region generating lift up to the rear of the configuration. Also, the tendency of the pitching moment with both Mach number and angle of attack was analyzed by comparing the positions of the center of pressure and the center of gravity.
The flying wing configuration with high sweep angles and rounded leading edge represent a complex flow of structures by the leading edge vortex. For control of the tailless flying wing configuration with unstable directional stability, flaperon is used. In this study, we conducted numerical simulations for a non-slender flying wing configuration with a rounded leading edge and analyzed the effect of the sideslip angle and flaperon. Through aerodynamic coefficient analysis, it was found that the effect of AoS on lift and drag coefficient was minimal and the side force and moment coefficient were markedly influenced by AoS. As the sideslip angle increased, the pitch break, which is related to the pitching moment coefficient, was delayed. Through stability analysis, the directional and lateral static stability of the flying wing configuration were increased by flaperon. Also, the structure and behavior of the leading edge vortex were analyzed by observing the contour of the pressure coefficient and the skin friction line.
