플라스틱 기판위에 엑시머 레이저 열처리된 저온 다결정 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터 (Low Temperature Poly-Si TFTs with Excimer Laser Annealing on Plastic Substrates)

  • FPD (flat panel display)의 능동구동 (active matrix) 방식의 플렉시블 디스플레이를 위해 PES의 플라스틱 기판위에 극저온 다결정 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터를 제작하였다. 상온에서도 박막의 증착이 가능한 RF 마크네트론 스퍼터링과 양질의 다결정 실리콘 박막을 얻을 수 있다고 알려진 XeCl 엑시머 레이져 열처리를 이용하였으며 모든 공정이 150$^{\circ}C$ 이하의 극저온에서 이루어졌다. 플라스틱 기판에 형성한 실리콘 박막 트랜지스터는 344 $mJ/cm^2$ 의 에너지 밀도에서 결정화 하였을 때 이동도 63.64$cm^2/V$ 로 기판에 회로를 집적할 수 있기에 충분한 특성을 얻을 수 있었다.

티타늄 및 티나늄-팔라듐 합금의 수소처리에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Hydrogen treatment of It and Ti-pd Alloy)

  • Effects of hydrogenation on microstructure and mechanical properties of pure Ti and Ti-0.15Pd alloy have been studied by means of optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), Xray diffraction and micro vicker's hardness test. Grain size of pure Ti and Ti-0.15Pd alloy decresed largely by hydrogenation finer than that of pure Ti and the grain size refinement was evedent in Ti-0.15Pd alloy than that in pure Ti. Ti-.015Pd alloy carried out solution treatment at 950$^{\circ}C$, the transformation of $\alpha$' martensite was occured. The amount of Hydrogen absorption in Ti-.015Pd alloy was higher than that in pure Ti. Decomposition of hydride in pure titanium and Ti-0.15Pd alloy increased largely by hydrogenation, and micro vicker's hardness of Ti-.015Pd alloy was largely than that of pure Ti by 30% after hydrogenation. The micro vicker's hardness of Ti-0.15Pd alloy after solution treatment and dehydrogenation were higher at $\beta$ phase ranger(950$^{\circ}C$) than that phase range(750$^{\circ}C$).

Pt 촉매를 이용한 HI분해반응에서 지지체에 따른 영향 (Effect of Support in HI Decomposition Reaction using Pt Catalyst)

  • HI decomposition step certainly demand catalytic reaction for efficient production of hydrogen in SI process. Platinum catalyst can apply to HI decomposition reaction as well as hydrogenation or dehydrogenation. Generally, noble metal is used as catalyst which is loaded form for getting high dispersion and wide active area. In this study, Pt was loaded onto zirconia, ceria, alumina, and silica by impregnation method. HI decomposition reaction was carried out under the condition of $450^{\circ}C$, 1atm, and $167.76h^{-1}$ (WHSV) in a fixed bed reactor for measuring catalytic activity. And property of a catalyst was observed by BET, TEM, XRD and chemisoption analysis. On the basis of experimental results, we discussed about conversion of HI according to physical properties of the loaded Pt catalyst onto each support.

  • 에탄올의 산화반응중의 칼륨을 dope 한 산화아연의 전기전도의 변화를 250${\sim}350^{\circ}C$에서 측정하였다. 산화아연 상에서는 탈수소 및 탈수반응이 일어난다. 300$^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 $CO_2$의 생성과 이에 따르는 전기전도의 증가를 보였는데 이것은 아세트알데히드의 분해에 의해 생긴 CO의 산화반응에 의한 것이 아닌가 본다. 에탄올에 산소를 가하면 아세트알데히드의 생성은 증가하나 에틸렌의 생성에는 변화가 없었다. 이것은 주로 $O^-$로서 화학흡착 되어있는 산소가 에탄올 흡착과 이에 따른 탈수소 과정에 유리하게 작용하고 있는 것이 아닌가 한다.

Identification of a Cytochrome P450 Hydroxylase Gene Involved in Rifamycin Biosynthesis by Amycolatopsis mediterranei S699

  • In analyzing the region of the Amycolatopsis mediterranei S699 chromosome responsible for the biosynthesis of the ansamycin antibiotic rifamycin, we identified a gene, designated orj0, which is located immediately upstream of the rifamycin polyketide synthase (PKS). Orj0 encodes a protein, on the basis of sequence-comparative analysis, that is similar to several cytochrome P450 monooxygenases from different sources. The rifamycin producer, A. mediterranei, predominantly produces rifamycin B from its macrocyclic intermediate, proansamycin X, through dehydrogenation and hydroxylation steps. However, an A. mediterranei strain, deleted in orj0 by gene replacement, no longer produced rifamycin B. Furthermore, a versatile replicative vector in A. mediterranei was constructed and rifamycin B production was restored in a complementation experiment of orj0 using this novel vector. These consecutive results verified that the arf0 protein, which is a P450 hydroxylase, is required for the production of rifamycin B in A. mediterranei.

  • Low temperature deposition of silicon and silicon nitride films by catalytic CVD technique was studied for application to thin film transistors on plastic substrates for flexible AMOLEDs. The substrate temperature initially held at room temperature, and was controlled successfully below $150^{\circ}C$ during the entire deposition process. Amorphous silicon films having good adhesion, good surface morphology and sufficiently low content of atomic hydrogen were obtained and could be successfully crystallized using excimer laser without a prior dehydrogenation step. $SiN_x$ films showed a good refractive index, a high deposition rate, a moderate breakdown field and a dielectric constant. The Cat-CVD silicon and silicon nitride films can be good candidates for fabricating thin films transistors on plastic substrates to drive active-matrix organic light emitting display.

  • Graphite has hexagonal closed packing structure with two bonding characteristics; (1) van der waals bonding between c axis, and (2) covalent bonding in the a and b axis. The weak van der waals bonds cause self-lubricant property, and the strong covalent bonds cause excellent electric and thermal conductivity. Furthermore, graphite is chemically very inert because of the material composed of only carbon elements. Thus, graphite is very useful for mechanical sealing materials. However, Graphite have porous microstructure because starting materials of graphite produce many volatile during the manufacturing processes. This causes low density of graphite, which is unsuitable for the mechanical sealing materials. Thus, further impregnation process is generally needed to enhance the graphite density. In this work, high density graphite is prepared with the principle of densification when coke and pitch binder, prepared from thermal treatment of coal tar pitch, become dehydrogenation during graphitization or carbonization.

Formic Acid Oxidation on Bi-modified Pt Nanoparticles of Various Sizes

  • This work presents oxidation of formic acid on Bi-modified Pt nanoparticles of various sizes. The sizes of the studied Pt nanoparticles range from 1.5 to 5.6 nm (detailed in Rhee, C. K.; Kim, B.-J.; Ham, C.; Kim, Y.-J.; Song, K.; Kwon, K. Langmuir 2009, 25, 7140-7147), and the surfaces of the Pt nanoparticles are modified with irreversibly adsorbed Bi. The investigated coverages of Bi on the Pt nanoparticles are 0.12 and 0.25 as determined by coulometry of the oxidation of adsorbed hydrogen and Bi, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The cyclic voltammetric behavior of formic acid oxidation reveals that the adsorbed Bi enhances the catalytic activity of Pt nanoparticles by impeding a poison-forming dehydration path with a concomitant promotion of a dehydrogenation path. The chronoamperometric results indicate that elemental Bi and partially oxidized Bi are responsible for the catalytic enhancement, when the Bi coverages on Pt nanoparticles are 0.12 and 0.25, respectively. The size effect of Bi-modified Pt nanoparticles in formic acid oxidation is discussed in terms of specific activity (current per unit surface area) and mass activity (current per unit mass).

  • Pd-ceramic composite membranes and catalytic membrane reactors(CMR) have been studied for hydrogen purification and recovery in th fusion reactor fuel cycle. The development of techniques for coating microporous ceramic tubes with Pd and Pd/Ag layers is described: composite membranes have been produced by electroless deposition (Pd/Ag film of 10-20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) and rolling of thin metal sheet (Pd and Pd/ Ag membranes of 50-70 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). Experimental results on electroless membranes showed that the metallic film presented some defects and the membranes had not complete hydrogen selectivity . Then the catalytic membrane reactors with electroless membranes can be applied for some industrial processes that do not require a complete separation of the hydrogen (i.e. in the dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons). The rolled thin Pd/Ag membranes separated the hydrogen from the other gas with a complete selectivity and exhibited a slightly larger (about a factor 1.7) mass transfer resistance with respect to the electroless membranes. Experimental tests confirmed the good performances in terms of durability.

  • TFT-LCD requires to use poly silicon for High resolution and High integration. Thin film make of Poly silicon on the excimer laser-induced crystallization of PECVD(plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition)-grown amorphous silicon. In the thin film hydrogen affects to a device performance from bad elements like eruption, void and etc. So dehydrogenation prior to laser exposure was necessary. In this study, use RTP(Rapid Thermal Process) at various temperature from $670^{\circ}C$ to $750^{\circ}C$ and fabricate poly-silicon. it propose optimized RTP window to compare grain size to use poly silicon's SEM pictures and crystallization to analyze Raman curved lines.
