It can be effective to extract and apply the updated information from the newly updated map data for updating road data of topographic map. In this study, update target data and update reference data are overlaid and the update objects are explored using network matching technique. And the network objects are classified into five matching and update cases and the update processes for each case are applied to the test data. For this study, road centerline data of digital topographic map is used as an update target data and road data of Korean Address Information System is used as an update reference data. The buffer-based network matching method is applied to the two data and the matching and update cases are classified after calculating the overlaid ratio of length. The newly updated road centerline data of digital topographic map is generated from the application of update process for each case. As a result, the update information can be extracted from the different map dataset and applied to the road network data updating.
Until now, many indexing methods that can reduce update cost have been proposed for managing massive moving objects. Because indexing methods for moving objects have to be updated periodically for managing moving objects that change their location data frequently. However these kinds indexing methods occur big load that exceed system capacity when the number of moving objects increase dramatically. In this paper, we propose the update frequency reducing method to combine MapReduce and existing indices. We use the update request grouping method for each moving object by using MapReduce. We decide to update by comparing the latest data and the oldest data in grouping data. We reduce update frequency by updating the latest data only. When update is delayed, for the data should not be lost and updated periodically, we store the data in a certain period of time in the hash table that keep previous update data. By the performance evaluation, we can prove that the proposed method reduces the update frequency by comparison with methods that are not applied the proposed method.

Map update is essential for maintaining reliability of maps. Update could be performed using variety of data sources such as aerial photos, engineering plans, LiDAR data and in-site surveying data. Therefore, map update is essential for maintaining reliability of maps. Update could be performed using variety of data sources such ad aerial photos, engineering plans, LiDAR data and in-site surveying data. Map update requires cost, manpower and time. It is important to inform updated information to users in order to decide purchase the updated maps or not. This paper proposes the way to provide various updated information of maps. Therefore, map users efficiently utilize information from maps.
Nand flash memory requires an Erase-Before-Write operation structurally. In order to solve this problem, it can be solved by classifying a page (hot data page) where data update operation occurs frequently and storing it in a separate block. The MHF (Multi Hash Function Framework) technique records the frequency of data update requests in the system memory, and when the recorded value exceeds a certain standard, the data update request is judged as hot data. However, the method of simply counting only the frequency of the data update request has a limit in judging it as accurate hot data. In addition, in the case of a technique that determines the persistence of a data update request, the fact of the update request is recorded sequentially based on a time interval and then judged as hot data. In the case of such a persistence-based method, its implementation and operation are complicated, and there is a problem of inaccurate judgment if frequency is not considered in the update request. This paper proposes a lightweight hot data determination technique that considers both frequency and persistence in data update requests.

In ubiquitous computing GIS services, it is possible to use the spatio-temporal data anytime through the mobile device. GIS services regularly update use the latest spatio-temporal data to provide the most suitable services. For this situation, update data is distributed to CD or wired networks update services. However, this method has problem to propagate update data to users as taking long time. In this paper, suggests a synchronization system which propagate update data to users for reducing processing time efficiently. This synchronization system collects update data in the field and synchronizes server with collected data to use mobile devices by real time. For this system, I design and materialize synchronization module which updates update data and wireless network module.
A spatial data warehouse has spatial data cube composed of multi-dimensional data for efficient OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) operations. A spatial data cube supporting concept hierarchies holds huge amount of data so that many researches have studied a incremental update method for minimum modification of a spatial data cube. The Cube, however, compressed by eliminating prefix and suffix redundancy has coalescing paths that cause update inconsistencies for some updates can affect the aggregate value of coalesced cell that has no relationship with the update. In this paper, we propose incremental batch update method of a spatial data cube. The proposed method uses duplicated nodes and extended node structure to avoid update inconsistencies. If any collision is detected during update procedure, the shared node is duplicated and the duplicate is updated. As a result, compressed spatial data cube that includes concept hierarchies can be updated incrementally with no inconsistency. In performance evaluation, we show the proposed method is more efficient than other naive update methods.
Data Replication makes distributed system and database system improved in availability and performance. But it is difficult to keep strict consistency in data update. Existing algorithms keep strict consistency, but have problems of cost a great deal and delay time. It is to introduce hybrid update propagation algorithm which permits eager update for original copy and propagates lazy update for other copies. Hybrid update propagation algorithm also permits group update in ownership. This algorithm menages replica version in order to control group update consistency. Consistency and performance is improved by combining eager update and lazy update with group ownership. Simulation shows improvement of transaction throughput and response time depending on application and execution environment.

A client stores data in the cloud and uses remote data checking (RDC) schemes to check the integrity of the data. The client can detect the corruption of the data using RDC schemes. Recently, robust RDC schemes have integrated forward error-correcting codes (FECs) to ensure the integrity of data while enabling dynamic update operations. Thus, minor data corruption can be recovered by FECs, whereas major data corruption can be detected by spot-checking techniques. However, this requires high communication overhead for dynamic update, because a small update may require the client to download an entire file. The Variable Length Constraint Group (VLCG) scheme overcomes this disadvantage by downloading the RS-encoded parity data for update instead of the entire file. Despite this, it needs to download all the parity data for any minor update. In this paper, we propose an improved RDC scheme in which the communication overhead can be reduced by downloading only a part of the parity data for update while simultaneously ensuring the integrity of the data. Efficiency and security analysis show that the proposed scheme enhances efficiency without any security degradation.

With the rapid development of technologies related to Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN), sensors are being utilized in various application areas. In general, the data sensed by each sensor node on ubiquitous sensor networks are stored into the central server for efficient search. Because update is delayed to reduce the cost of update in this environment, uncertain data can be stored in the central server. In addition, Uncertain data make query processing produce wrong results in the central server. Thus, this paper examines how to process uncertain data in ubiquitous sensor networks and suggests a new index for efficient processing of uncertain data. The index reduces the cost of update by delaying update in uncertainty areas. Uncertainty areas are areas where uncertain data are likely to exist. In addition, it solves the problem of low accuracy in search resulting from update delay by delaying update only for specific update areas. Lastly, we analyze the performance of the index and prove the superiority of its performance by comparing its performance evaluation.
In this paper, a replica update propagation method for cost optimization of request forwarding in the Grid database is proposed,. In the Grid database, the data is replicated for performance and availability. In the case of data update, update information is forwarded to the neighbor nodes to synchronize with the others replicated data. There are two kinds of update propagation method that are the query based scheme and the log based scheme. And, only one of them is commonly used. But, because of dynamically changing environment through property of update query and processing condition, strategies that using one propagation method increases transmission cost in dynamic environment. In the proposed method, the three classes are defined from two cost models of query and log based scheme. And, cost functions and update propagation method is designed to select optimized update propagation scheme from these three classes. This paper shows a proposed method has an optimized performance through minimum transmission cost in dynamic processing environment.
