  • It is important to develop a digital SOC (Social Overhead Capital) maintenance system for preemptive maintenance in response to the rapid aging of social infrastructures. Abnormal signals induced from structures can be detected quickly and optimal decisions can be made promptly using IoT sensors deployed on the structures. In this study, a digital SOC monitoring system incorporating a multimetric IoT sensor was developed for long-term monitoring, for use in cloud-computing server for automated and powerful data analysis, and for establishing databases to perform : (1) multimetric sensing, (2) long-term operation, and (3) LTE-based direct communication. The developed sensor had three axes of acceleration, and five axes of strain sensing channels for multimetric sensing, and had an event-driven power management system that activated the sensors only when vibration exceeded a predetermined limit, or the timer was triggered. The power management system could reduce power consumption, and an additional solar panel charging could enable long-term operation. Data from the sensors were transmitted to the server in real-time via low-power LTE-CAT M1 communication, which does not require an additional gateway device. Furthermore, the cloud server was developed to receive multi-variable data from the sensor, and perform a displacement fusion algorithm to obtain reference-free structural displacement for ambient structural assessment. The proposed digital SOC system was experimentally validated on a steel railroad and concrete girder bridge.

Composting and plastic waste obtained from the sale revenue of Rp. 44,016,000 per year; (4) Overall, implementation of the eco-innovation system in PUSPIPTEK area can saves Rp. 3,248,377,023 per year, compared to the existing system; and (5)The savings are obtained with implementation of eco-innovation is considered as income. Analysis of the feasibility of the implementation of eco-innovation in water, energy, and waste management in PUSPIPTEK give NPV at a 15% discount factor in Rp. 3,895,228,761; 23.20% of IRR and 4.48 years of PBP. Thus the model of eco-innovation in the area PUSPIPTEK is feasible to implement.

  • In this paper, the analysis of the harmonics of distribution power system interconnected with DG(distributed generation) is simulated by using PSCAD/EMTDC and evaluated the harmonics. The modeling system for simulation is similar to the actual distribution system, and solar power system. The simulation analyses are performed at connection points for each sector. Harmonic standards of interconnection with DG (IEEE Std 1547 and IEEE Std 519) are applied to the evaluation algorithm, converted the simulated data through FFT method, evaluated by THD and TDD separately. The harmonic contents in the case of without DG and each sector with DG are evaluated and compared. The results of evaluation showed the effect that the harmonic contents are appropriated at all sector with DG (without DG) in the distribution power systems but the large induction motor(50KW) is increased the harmonic contents.

It is surmount solution of trend that will unitize and converge with power module in these days. The level of modularize means that applying Universal Middleware for payload power module requirements. The scope of target system is a main power provider module and operational subunit that can be implemented with the final power module distribution loads to consume for continuous process. A Universal Middleware strengthen to build power module from satellite power system should be accuracy and consuming data. • When a spacecraft in deep space falls into an abnormal state, an emergency communication channel between ground and the spacecraft is essential in order to perform analysis to the cause of the anomaly, and to remedy the spacecraft from the distressed state. Because the recovery actions generally comprises of long and complicated sequences of commands, the transmission of the recovery commands may require a reliable and a delay tolerant networking technology based on bundle routing. While the delay tolerant networking protocol becomes a prominent method interfacing ground and space into a internet-like Solar system network because it can address the issues of the severe communication problems in deep space, the communication system on the spacecraft which based on space packet protocol cannot use the delay tolerant networking technology directly. So a community of the consultative committee for space data systems starts a discussion of the first-hop last-hop mechanism to establish a feasible concept and standardization. This paper presents an enhanced concept of the first-hop last-hop by applying it a virtual cislunar communication environment, and we believe this contributes to make a way applicable to an interoperable relay concept of the first hop last hop between the delay tolerant networking and space packet protocol standard.

  • Using a field spectrometer having a spectral range of 0.4$\mu\textrm{m}$~2.5$\mu\textrm{m}$ with a spectral resolution of 1nm, the researchers measured the reflectance of granite, andesitic rocks, sedimentary rocks, and pyrophyllite ore in the Ungsang area, Kyungsang Basin, South Korea. Spectral characteristics of the geological media were investigated from the analysis. The in-situ measured sites were selected in well exposed rock outcrops. In case of unfavorable weather conditions, rocks were sampled and remeasured under natural solar condition. The reflectance of field data was measurd at three sistes for granite, six sites for andesitic rock three sites for sedimentary rocks, and two sites for pyrophyllite ore. The vibrational absorption bands for pyrophyllite are detected in the spectral range of 2.0$\mu\textrm{m}$~2.5$\mu\textrm{m}$. The absorption band for granites in study area is not distinctive. The reflectance measured under normal field conditions showed strong absorption at wavelengths of 1.4$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 1.9$\mu\textrm{m}$ due to the effect of moisture in the atmosphere. After the bands of 1.4$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 1.9$\mu\textrm{m}$ were removed, Hull Quotient method was applied to characterize absorption bands. The reflectances of field data were calculated to estimate the band ratio corresponding to the Landsat TM and EOS Terra ASTER. The researchers suggest here that the TM band2, band3, band4, and band7 or ASTER band2, band3, band4, and band9 are the best combination for discriminating outcrops. The researchers tested and demonstrated using a Landsat TM image in the study area. For geologic applications, decorrelation stretch is also an effective tool to enhance the exposed rock mass in images.

  • The cycle performance of closed ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) system with 50 kW gross power was evaluated to obtain the basic data for the optimal design of OTEC using waste heat such as solar power, discharged heat from condenser of power plant. The basic thermodynamic model for OTEC is Rankine cycle, and the surface seawater and deep seawater were used for the heat source of evaporator and condenser, respectively. The cycle performance such as efficiency, heat exchanger capacity, etc. was analyzed on the variation of temperature increase by waste heat. The cycle efficiency increased and necessary capacity of evaporator and condenser decreased under 50kW gross power with respect to the temperature increase of working fluid. Also, when the temperature increase is about $13.5^{\circ}C$, the heat which can be used is generated. By generator with 0.9 effectiveness under the simulated condition, the cycle efficiency was improved approximately 3.0% comparing with the basic cycle.
