Purpose: This study was aimed at identifying the effect of meridian acupressure on decreasing the severity of constipation in stroke patients admitted to the intensive care unit. Method: The data was collected from June 1 to July 30, 2005 at D Hospital in Busan. They were divided into two group: one experimental group of 18, and the another control group of 17. Meridian acupressure was given to the experimental group and no meridian acupressure was given to the control group. The data was analyzed using the t-test, ${\chi}^2-test$, Fisher exact, and repeated measures ANCOVA. Results: There was a significant improvement in frequency of defecation and severity of constipation in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: Meridian acupressure can be considered an effective nursing method for the management of constipation among Cerebrovascular Accident patients.

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF), pelvic patterns are very important for orthopaedic and neurologic patient. It is an essential treatment techniques for motor developmental disorder. CVA, lumbar disk, muscle weekness and pain control of lumbar, pelvic and lower extremity, Pelvic patterns of PNP has 4 different type of basic pattern. each of them is combinding of movement plane and functional movement. Biomechanically most of PNF patterns are a concentric contraction with third-class lever. But the movement pattern have a technique of combination of isotonic that should make a eccentric contraction with second-class lever.

The purpose of this study was to emphasize the strategy of the home visiting physical therapy for elderly patients who have joint and musculoskeletal problems, disabled person who staying in home and early discharged person who staying in home with replacement of artificial hip joint and central nerve system problems with CP, CVA, SCI etc. Home visiting physical therapist can provide evaluation and diagnosis, treatment with their special knowledge and techniques, treatment council and education for the patients and family member and refer the patients to other specialist. Home visiting physical therapy can expects that patients will have better treatment with emotionally, economically and for long term care patients.

In these days, the PCs are widely used in the mid-level factory. But they have low-effectiveness for using them. The main reason should be the lack of useful and practical software in the market. This Case study aimed at the support of the software using DB Language to get M/M chart for aquiring work study and standard time data in the mid-level factory having multi-item and multi-process type. CVA (Chronocycle Video Analysis) is applied to get basic standard time data and working list. Standard time, Sequence of working and allowance time or rate for man and machine will be readily obtained through the menu when the software executing. Detailed program list is systematically shown in Appendix.

Physical therapy for patients with Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Spinal cord injury. Osteoporosis, CVA and Cerebral Palsy often includes the evaluating and teaching of rolling movements. Motor abilities such as rolling from a supine to a prone position, moving to sitting. getting up on all fours and ultimately standing up from a supine position. represents progression toward physical independence. Rolling is important functional abilities for need to dressing, decubit prevent. bed mobility, neck control, crawling, creeping, sitting, standing and walking. The purposes of this study were to describe motor development concept and rolling task patterns and to approach the therapeutic exercises.

본 연구에서는 이진 변화탐지 방법상 요구되는 수동적인 자료처리 단계들을 모듈화하고 통합한 '이진 변화탐지 컴포넌트'를 개발하였으며, 대전 지역의 IKONOS 다중시계열 위성영상의 2개 연구지역에 적용함으로써 그 성능을 검증하였다. 개발된 컴포넌트는 ESRI의 ArcGIS 9.x 상에서 설치 및 실행되며, Visual Basic과 GIS 객체 라이브러리의 결합을 통해 구현되었다. 적용된 모델은 Im. J.(2007)의 연구에서 제시된 '캘리브레이션 기법을 이용한 자동 이진 변화탐지 모델'을 확장 적용한 것으로, 변화영상 히스토그램의 비정규분포를 고려한 누적 생산자 및 사용자 정확도 평가 기법이 최적 임계치 결정에 사용되었다. 다양한 변화탐지 기술들, ID, IR, NCIs, CVA, PCA와 ID, IR의 결합이 실험을 통해 비교 분석되었다. 실험 결과, 개선된 캘리브레이션 기법 적용을 통해 기존 기법보다 향상된 분류정확도를 얻었으며, PC1의 ID가 연구지역의 변화탐지 상에서 가장 우수한 분류 능을 보여주었다.

Since John Davy reported the first well-documented case of occlusive disease involving the branches of the aortic arch in 1839, many similar cases have been reported in literature, especially from oriental countries. The prognosis and symptoms depend on the degree and extent of the occlusive lesions and also on the importance of the arteries affected. The course may progress slowly or rapidly with remissions and exacerbation, and death may result from acute CVA, cardiac failure or pulmonary edema, and renal failure. No medical therapy has been able to alter conclusively the course of the disease, so various surgical procedures have been applied to relieve the obstruction and to prolong the life. We present the case of an 18 year-old female with multiple stenosis of the aorta, and performed the long bypass graft from descending aorta to common lilac artery, and the result was excellent.

The incidence of syphilitic aortic aneurysm was decreased now a day. The predilection site of cardiovascular syphilis is the thoracic aorta, especially ascending portion. The form of syphilitic aneurysm is characterized by saccular or fusiform. We have experienced 58 year old female complained of intermittent left chest pain for these 2 years. Saccular aneurysm of 7 cm in diameter at the descending thoracic aorta just distal to the left subclavian artery was confirmed with aortogram, and etiologic lesion was suspected as syphilis by her strong positive finding of serum VDRL test. Excision of the aneurysm was done under temporary bypass with heparinized 10mm silicone bypass cannula, and 23 mm Dacron aortic prosthetic graft in 10 cm segment was replaced, and excised aortic segment was confirmed as syphilitic aneurysm on light microscopic examination. Postoperative hospital course was uneventful, and discharged 3 weeks after operation in good normotensive condition. The patient died of CVA 3 months after discharge at home.
