A Pattern Matching Extended Compression Algorithm for DNA Sequences

  • DNA sequencing provides fundamental data in genomics, bioinformatics, biology and many other research areas. With the emergent evolution in DNA sequencing technology, a massive amount of genomic data is produced every day, mainly DNA sequences, craving for more storage and bandwidth. Unfortunately, managing, analyzing and specifically storing these large amounts of data become a major scientific challenge for bioinformatics. Those large volumes of data also require a fast transmission, effective storage, superior functionality and provision of quick access to any record. Data storage costs have a considerable proportion of total cost in the formation and analysis of DNA sequences. In particular, there is a need of highly control of disk storage capacity of DNA sequences but the standard compression techniques unsuccessful to compress these sequences. Several specialized techniques were introduced for this purpose. Therefore, to overcome all these above challenges, lossless compression techniques have become necessary. In this paper, it is described a new DNA compression mechanism of pattern matching extended Compression algorithm that read the input sequence as segments and find the matching pattern and store it in a permanent or temporary table based on number of bases. The remaining unmatched sequence is been converted into the binary form and then it is been grouped into binary bits i.e. of seven bits and gain these bits are been converted into an ASCII form. Finally, the proposed algorithm dynamically calculates the compression ratio. Thus the results show that pattern matching extended Compression algorithm outperforms cutting-edge compressors and proves its efficiency in terms of compression ratio regardless of the file size of the data.

  • In this paper, we describe an image processing algorithm which is able to recognize the road lane. This algorithm performs to recognize the interrelation between AGV and the other vehicle. We experimented on AGV driving test with color CCD camera which is setup on the top of vehicle and acquires the digital signal. This paper is composed of two parts. One is image preprocessing part to measure the condition of the condition of the lane and vehicle. This finds the information of lines using RGB ratio cutting algorithm, the edge detection and Hough transform. The other obtains the situation of other vehicles using the image processing and viewport. At first, 2 dimension image information derived from vision sensor is interpreted to the 3 dimension information by the angle and position of the CCD camera. Through these processes, if vehicle knows the driving conditions which are lane angle, distance error and real position of other vehicles, we should calculate the reference steering angle.

  • Double skin façade is known that several features affected the building energy and daylighting performance. That is why the envelope is able to consist of all architectural materials such as glass, aluminum, wood and insulation for vision of residents and workers in buildings. Its specifications is very diverse according to the building designers and building owners. In recent times, visual environment became a major focus and resulted in the development of cutting edge engineering of diverse glazing systems and shading devices by growing interests of friendly environment. Thus this research has evaluated the fluctuations of interior lighting and atmospheric conditions based on double skin facade systems. Especially in terms of daylighting environment as dependent on solar variations, this research provides quantitative analysis of interior lighting conditions and how it affects the living conditions as well as improve the design of interior spaces.

  • An experimental study of the constitutive response of precipitation-strengthened Al-0.55wt% Zr alloy, which consists of an Al matrix precipitation-strengthened by coherent particles, ${\beta}^{\prime}(Al_3Zr)$ with $L1_2$ structure has been performed. The deformation response of the materials has been examined by stress relaxation test at 573K, 623K and 673K. It was found that there exist the threshold stress during stress relaxation and threshold stress results from the presense of ${\beta}^{\prime}(Al_3Zr)$ particles. The ratio of threshold stress and Orowan stress decreased gradually with increasing temperature. The resistance to climb-pass of particles was independent of particles size for a fixed volume fraction although the threshold for bowing and particles cutting are sensitive to the particles dimensions. The smaller particles cutted by dislocations. This behavior of dislocations in this alloy was explained in terms of the small value antiphase boundary energy. The dislocation networks wrere more extensive in spesimens subjected to stress relaxation and there were numerous areas that have a high denstiy of jogged dislocation. This experiment results indicate that the rate controlling stress relaxation process is the climb of edge dislocation over particles.

  • 본 논문은 비선형 소자 탐지기용 다중 공진 원편파 안테나의 설계를 제안한 것이다. 광대역으로 설계하기 위해, CPW 급전 방법이 고려되었다. 원편파를 구현하기 위해, 축비는 방사 소자에 $45^{\circ}$ 기울어진 슬롯과 방사 패치 가장자리의 커팅 크기에 의해 제어되었다. 관심 대역인 2.4~2.44 GHz, 4.84~4.92 GHz, 7.28~7.36 GHz에서 측정된 반사 손실, 대역폭, 축비, 편파 패턴과 이득은 시뮬레이션 값과 잘 일치하였다

  • 정보기술의 디자인 트렌드는 시대에 따라 빠르게 변해왔으며, 최근의 정보 디스플레이의 디자인 트렌드는 베젤리스 디스플레이가 대세이다. 베젤리스 또는 에지리스 디스플레이는 휴대폰 디스플레이의 새로운 트렌드로 부상하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이른바 베젤리스 디스플레이라고 불리는 기기 면적 대비 높은 화면 비율을 갖는 터치패널 디스플레이의 조립 공정에 적합한 차광 테이프를 개발하였다. 차광 테이프는 자외선 경화형 아크릴계 감압성 점착제를 PET 필름 위에 롤투롤 공정으로 코팅하여 제조하였다. 자외선 경화형 감압성 점착제는 톨루엔을 전혀 사용하지 않는 친환경적인 제조 방법으로 합성되었다. 제조된 차광 테이프의 점착력은 자동화된 인장시험기로 분석하였으며, 형상유지 특성인 칙소성은 주사 전자 현미경으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 제조된 차광 테이프는 터치패널 디스플레이의 조립 공정에 적합한 높은 점착력과 우수한 칙소성을 나타내었다. 이러한 기능성 차광 테이프의 개발은 그 동안 차광 테이프의 칙소성 부족으로 인하여 야기되었던 터치 패널 디스플레이 조립 공정의 생산성향상 및 품질안정성 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

수산자원전용조사선 탐구 21호에 탑재된 최첨단 음향장비 소개와 첫 시험조사 (First Trial of the State of the Art Acoustic Systems Mounted on the R/V Tamgu 21)

  • At the first time in South Korea, the state of the art acoustic systems were mounted on the R/V Tamgu 21. The acoustic systems are an EK80 broadband echosounder (18, 38, 70, 120, 200 and 333 kHz) which has two beam modes such as continuous wave (narrowband) and frequency modulation (broadband), an ME70 multibeam echosounder (70-120 kHz), and a SH90 sonar (111.5-115.5 kHz). Acoustic data from broadband mode have a very short range resolution, a large detection range, a high signal to noise ratio, and a wide and consecutive frequency response. In ME70, each individual beam consisted in a multibeam plays a role as a spilt beam. The first trial of the cutting edge acoustic system installed on the R/V Tamgu 21 was conducted from 15 Feb to 29 Feb 2016 in East Sea, South Sea and East China Sea. The properties of the acoustic systems were elucidated and exploratory results from three systems were exhibited. Lastly, issues which should be considered and future research plan are mentioned.

영상처리기법을 이용한 구조물 동특성 분석 시스템 프로토타입 개발 (Development of Structure Dynamic Characteristics Analysis System Prototype using Image Processing Technique)

  • 최근 건축물과 교량 등 사회기반시설물들의 노후화로 인해 변위센서, 가속도센서 등 첨단 기술을 이용한 구조물 안전관리 기법이 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 일반적으로 구조물의 안전관리를 위한 구조 건전성 모니터링 기술은 IT와 계측센서 기반으로 이러한 시스템을 구축하기 위해서는 많은 비용이 소요된다. 본 논문에서는 기존 계측센서 기반의 구조 건전성 모니터링 시스템에 비해 보다 경제적이고 효과적인 방법으로 구조물의 변위와 고유진동수를 추정하여 손상도를 평가하는 영상 기반의 구조물 동특성 분석 시스템을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 시스템은 디지털 카메라와 같은 영상장치를 이용하여 구조물의 영상을 촬영하고, 영상처리를 위해 주로 사용되고 있는 정규상호상관기법인 NCC연산을 통해 변위와 고유 진동수를 분석하고, 구조물의 손상전후의 주파수응답비를 비교분석하여 손상도를 판별하여 문제가 발생 시 관리자에게 경보하는 기능을 지원한다. 본 시스템은 기존의 구조물에 부착하거나 고정해서 사용하는 계측 센서에 비해 설치 및 이동이 간편하고, 시스템이 단순하여 경제적이며 활용성이 높은 장점이 있다.
