  • Electrochemical study on cut edge corrosion of prepainted Zn coated (GI) and 55%Al-Zn coated (GL) steels has been performed in wet-dry cyclic conditions. Maximum width of delaminated polymer coating from the cut edge for GI and GL specimens was evaluated under wet-dry cyclic conditions. The cyclic tests were carried out for 1000 h by changing of relative humidity, where the salt of NaCl was deposited on the specimen every 48 h. The cut edge corrosion test under NaCl deposit indicated that the delamination of the GL specimen progresses at a higher rate than the GI. The electrochemical corrosion monitoring was also performed under condition of alternate exposure to immersion in NaCl solution and drying at 60%RH and $25^{\circ}C$. On the basis of the results of the delamination tests and electrochemical measurements, the mechanism of cut edge corrosion for GI and GL were discussed.

  • The stereoscopic vision system is the algorithm to obtain the depth of target object of stereo vision image. This paper presents an efficient disparity matching method using blue edge filter and graph cut algorithm. We do recommend the use of the simple sobel edge operator. The application of B band sobel edge operator over image demonstrates result with somewhat noisy (distinct border). The basic technique is to construct a specialized graph for the energy function to be minimized such that the minimum cut on the graph also minimizes the energy (either globally or locally). This method has the advantage of saving a lot of data. We propose a preprocessing effective stereo matching method based on sobel algorithm which uses blue edge information and the graph cut, we could obtain effective depth map.

  • Laser machining technique, which is used focusing pulse YAG laser beam irradiation was applied to form area ratio controlled model cut-edge on pre painted Zn coated steels. A corrosion behavior of formed model cut-edge was investigated by rest potential measurement in 1 mol $m^{-3}$ NaCl with and without 0.5 kmol $m^{-3}$ $H_3BO_4$/0.05kmol$m^{-3}$ $Na_2B_4O_7$. The rest potential showed almost constant value with fluctuations. The amplitude of fluctuations increased with exposed area of steel surface. White corrosion products of zinc oxide and simonkollite was formed after the experiments at the formed model cut-edge.

  • Zagreb indices and their modified versions of a molecular graph are important descriptors which can be used to characterize the structural properties of organic molecules from different aspects. In this work, we investigate some properties of the modified second multiplicative Zagreb index of graphs with given connectivity. In particular, we obtain the maximum values of the modified second multiplicative Zagreb index with fixed number of cut edges, or cut vertices, or edge connectivity, or vertex connectivity of graphs. Furthermore, we characterize the corresponding extremal graphs.

  • Raw material of gelidioid red algae yielding high-quality agar has been in short supply due to overharvesting, but in situ farming of gelidioids has not been practical due to their slow growth. To produce vegetative seedstock of a cosmopolitan species, Pterocladiella capillacea, we investigated the number and length of regenerated branches arising from sectioned fragments during 3 weeks of laboratory culture at 10, 15, 20, and 25℃. All sectioned fragments formed axis-like branches mostly from the upper cut edge and stolon-like branches mostly from the lower cut edge, showing a high capacity of regeneration and intrinsic bipolarity. At 20℃, the number of regenerated branches increased to 2.74 ± 1.29 on the upper cut edge and 4.26 ± 2.66 on the lower cut edge. Our study reveals that the use of fragments bearing regenerated branches as seedstock can be a simple method to initiate fast propagation for mass cultivation in the sea or outdoor tank.

  • Ultra precision diamond cutting is a very efficient manufacturing method for optical parts such as HOE, Fresnel lenses, diffraction lenses, and others. During micro cutting, the rake angle is likely to become negative because the tool edge radius is considerably large compared to the sub-micrometer-order depth of cut. Depending on the ratio of the tool edge radius to the depth of cut, different micro-cutting mechanism modes appear. Therefore, the tool edge sharpness is the most important factor which affects the qualities of machined parts. That is why diamond, especially monocrystal diamond which has the sharpest edge among all other materials, is widely used in micro-cutting. The majar issue is regarding the minimum (critical) depth of cut needed to obtain continuous chips during the cutting process. In this paper, the micro machinability near the critical depth of cut is investigated in micro grooving with a diamond tool. The experimental results show the characteristics of micro-cutting in terms of cutting force ratio (Fx/Fy), chip shape, surface roughness, and surface hardening nea. the critical depth of cut.

  • Nickel silicide is main issue in Polycrystalline silicon Thin Film Transistor (TFT) which is made by Metal Induced Lateral Crystallization (MILC) method. This Nickel silicide acts as a defect center, and this defect is one of the biggest reason of the high leakage current. In this research, we fabricated polycrystalline TFTs with novel method called Edge Cut (EC). With this new fabrication method, we assumed that nickel silicide at the edge of the channel region is reduced. Electrical properties are measured and trap state density also calculated using Levinson & Proano method.

  • The cutting thickness of ultra-precision machining is generally very small, only a few micrometer or even down to the order of a flew manometer. In such case, a basic understanding of the mechanism on the micro-machining process is necessary to produce a high quality surface. When machining at very small depths of cut, metal flow near a rounded tool edge become important. In this paper a finite element analysis is presented to calculate the stagnation point on the tool edge or critical depth of cut below which no cutting occurs. From the simulation, the effects of the cutting speed on the critical depths of cut were calculated and discussed. Also the transition of the stagnation point according to the increase of the depths of cut was observed.
