  • Recently, the importance of entrepreneurship based on innovative ideas is being emphasized. Most startup companies misunderstand that a good solution is a good idea, so they try to start a business by choosing an idea that prioritizes solutions, products, and technology rather than problem-first. However, to be a successful startup, it is essential to focus on the quality of the problems your customers are trying to solve. The online community is a place where many people exchange their thoughts and communicate with each other through a network, and communities about consumption, a concern of modern people, are developing. Against this background, this study proposed an integrated methodology that combines big data and netnography analysis so that entrepreneurs can use online community data to derive customer-centered startup ideas. The integrated methodology was verified based on the actual start-up case, who derived a startup idea based on the data of domestic cloth diapers online cafe. The case company found customer problems based on online community data and used it to develop startup items and new products. The integrated methodology for deriving entrepreneurial ideas in this study is expected to be an important guideline that explains in detail the consumer-centered idea derivation process.

  • Today, many companies realize that the effort to develop new products / services faster that customers want and continue to purchase is crucial for their survival. As the service sector is rapidly growing, one of the challenges faced by the service industries is the lack of effective methodologies for new service development. This paper proposes a systematic framework for developing new service concepts, with an emphasis on generating innovative, convergence-type service concepts from the customer‘s perspective. The framework consists of three phases-identification of customer needs (Phase I), extraction of new service opportunities (Phase II), and generation of new service concepts (Phase III). The proposed framework is demonstrated through a case study in the telecommunications industry. In the case study, a survey was conducted on ten customers to identify the latent customer needs; 61 new service opportunities were extracted; and 129 new service concepts were generated.

  • This paper examined whether quality management(QM) positively impacts Kazakh companies' business performance (financial and non-financial performance). As a result of testing ten hypotheses based on the research model for 287 companies in Almaty, only eight hypotheses were supported. Top management leadership was identified as a critical factor that positively affected financial performance, and customer-centered thinking is strongly related to non-financial performance. Employee participation and quality information analysis factors also positively affected business performance, but their influence was lower than top management leadership and customer-centered thinking factors. Finally, the supplier management factor did not significantly affect business performance, and the two related hypotheses were not supported. These results are presumed to be due to the characteristics of the target companies, such as oil and raw material manufacturing and construction, rather than high-quality finished products.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate nursing professionalism, emotional labor (surface acting, deep acting), empathic concern, and customer orientation, and identify factors contributing to customer orientation among clinical nurses. Methods: The participants in this study were 151 clinical nurses at the three general hospitals. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: The significant predictors of customer orientation among clinical nurses were empathic concern (${\beta}=.43$, p<.001), nursing professionalism (${\beta}=.29$, p<.001), nursing career (${\beta}=.16$, p=.007), and deep acting (${\beta}=.14$, p=.021). Theses variables explained 47.6% of the variance of customer orientation. Empathic concern was the most influential variable. Conclusion: The results suggest that it is crucial to improve deep acting, empathic concern and nursing professionalism for increasing clinical nurses' customer orientation. Management-level leaders in the hospitals should develop strategies of promoting nursing professionalism, deep acting and empathic concern to improve customer orientation.

This study intends to do a comparison analysis the relationship between customer's attitude and usage of Internet banking by classifying Internet banking service into inquiry, transfer, and other service. Result shows that usefulness, quality, and cost are significantly related to the customer's attitude toward Internet banking service, but ease of use, innovativeness, and social influence are not. Even though customer's attitude was found to be significantly related to the use of Internet banking, the degree of it was different by service types inquiry, transfer, and other service in a row. It implicates that usage of Internet banking still centered on inquiry service.

  • To develop high-quality software systems satisfying the customer's needs, user-centered design (UCD) process has been emphasized in the area of human-computer interaction. And component-based development (CBD) has been extensively studied to realize a systematic software reuse, thereby reducing the time-to-market and the development cost. Balanced integration of user-centered design process and CBD process will be a promising way for successful software construction, which effectively achieves three goals: the quality of software, the cost of software development, and the time-to-market. However, traditional CBD methodology seems to lack the concept of user-centered design process and the relevant methods. This paper proposes a way of incorporating user-centered design process into a CBD methodology. Firstly, this paper gives the brief introduction of UCD. Secondly, we explain typical UCD activities and methods along the phase of systems development lifecycle and propose the use of usability maturity model (UMM) for integrating UCD activities and methods with those of CBD methodology. Finally, as a case study, we describe the results of comparing the UCD activities to the activities of MaRMI-III, which has been developed as a CBD methodology at ETRI.
