일 도시 초등학교 비만 아동의 신체조성, 비만도, 식습관, 스트레스에 미치는 비만관리 프로그램 효과 (Effects of Obesity Management Program on Body Composition, Obesity, Food Habit and Stress of Obese Children at a Urban Elementary School)

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of a obesity management program for obese children at a urban elementary school. Methods: The study subjects were fifty five 4th-6th graders (experimental = 29, control = 26) whose obesity indices were 120% or over fiunr two schools in a urban area. Obesity management program was conducted weekly 12 sessions with 60-day morning group exercises. Study instruments were Imbody 310 (BIOSPACE, 2005) and summated scales. Data were collected from April 6 to June 22, 2006 and analysed by descriptive statistics, X2-test and ANCOVA using SPSS/PC+ 14.0 program. Results: 1. Obesity management program was effective to reduce body weight (t = -2.54, p = .014), fat mass percent (t = -2.37, p = .021) and to increase muscle mass (t = 2.36, p = .022). And all these were also significant statistically in ANCOVA 2. Obesity management program were also effective to decrease level of obesity (t = -3.28, p = .002), and that of stress (t = -2.19, p = .033) and to improve food habit (t = 2.52, p = .016). And all these were also significant statistically in ANCOVA. Conclusion: School-based obesity management program for obese children was effective to reduce weight, fat mass percent, obesity, and stress; increase muscle mass; and improve food habit. School-based obesity management program, therefore, can be recommended as a health promotion measure in elementary school as curricular basis.

한국 가정생활 문화 관련 단원의 학습에서 ICT활용 수업이 가정교과에 대한 흥미, 전통문화의식, 학업성취 및 수행평가 미치는 효과 (The Effects of ICT Teaching Method on Interest in Home Economics, Consciousness on Traditional Culture, Achievement Test, and Performance Assessment in High School Borne Economics Instruction)

  • This research was to verity the effects of ICT teaching method in high school home economics. The research questions for this study were as follows: 1. Is the ICT teaching method effective in increasing students' interest in home economics and consciousness on traditional culture in teaming the unit of ‘Korean traditional culture of home life’? 2. Is the ICT teaching method effective in improving students' achievement test and performance assessment in teaming the unit of ‘Korean traditional culture of home life’? This study is carried out with following procedure: developing the homepage and lesson plans for ICT teaching, constructing questionnaire, and testing its reliability, pre-testing, treatment for 8 weeks, and post-testing. Two groups were arranged for 8 weeks experiment from May 7,2001 through June 30,2001. Sixteen hours of ICT teaching and 8 hours of traditional lecture for experiment group whereas 8 hours of ICT teaching and 16 hours of traditional lecture for comparison group were input. SAS program was used for statistical analysis, and independent sample t-test and matched pairs t-test were peformed for answering research questions. The results of this study were as following: 1. Sixteen hours of ICT teaching and 8 hours of traditional lecture for experiment group was effective in increasing consciousness on traditional culture and performance assessment. 2. Eight hours of ICT teaching and 16 hours of traditional lecture for comparison group was not effective in learning home economics. This means that at least 2 hours of ICT teaching is demanding for effective learning. This study concluded that ICT teaching will be effectively applied in high school home economic with well developed ICT teaching materials. And home economics educators should continuously put effort in developing curricular, teaching materials, and teaching methods to raise students' interest in home economics.

사회인지이론과 의학교육: 어떻게 사회적 상호작용을 통해 학습이 일어나는가 (Social Cognitive Theory and Medical Education: How Social Interactions Can Inform Learning)

  • The structures and processes of medical education have changed little since the publication of Flexner's report, which stressed the scientific orientation of medical education and the curricular structure of 2 years of formal knowledge education and 2 years of clinical experience. However, the previous perspectives on medical education are facing challenges, and these call for new pedagogy and theories on which to base medical education practice. Considering that social dimensions of learning have been emphasized in practice, perspectives that integrate these aspects are needed. Among the various learning theories, social cognitive theory refers to the theoretical framework which contends that learning occurs within interactions with others and environments. From a social cognitive standpoint, learning through observation is a critical component in human functioning. Indeed, observational learning has particular significance in medical education in that it provides the context for which the importance and meaning of role models can be understood. In addition, as theoretical constructs such as self-efficacy and outcome expectations allow us to establish an effective learning environment, exploring the concepts of the theory could be beneficial to medical education practice. In this context, the present review article aims to provide a glimpse of the fundamental assumptions and theoretical concepts of social cognitive theory and discusses the implications the theory has on teaching and learning. Further, a review of previous studies could help explain how the theory has informed medical education practice. Finally, the author will conclude with the implications and limitations of applying social cognitive theory in medical education.

Computer나 Calculator를 이용한 계산에서 오류 교정을 위한 어림셈 지도에 관한 연구

  • This is a study on an instruction of estimation for error correction in the calculation with a computer or a calculator. The aim of this study is to survey a new aspect of calaulation teaching and the teaching strategy of estimation and finally to frame a new curriculum model of estimation instruction. This research required a year and the outcomes of the research can be listed as follows: 1. Social utilities of estimation were made clear, and a new trend of calculation teaching related to estimation instruction was shown. 2. The definition of estimation was given and actual examples of conducting an estimation among pupils in lower grades were given for them to have abundant experiences. 3. The ways of finding estimating values in fraction and decimal fraction were presented for the pupils to be able to conduct an estimation. 4. The following contents were given as a basic strategy for estimation. 1) Front-end strategy 2) Clustering strategy 3) Rounding strategy 4) Compatible numbers strategy 5) Special numbers strategy 5. In an instuction of estimation the meaning, method. and process of calculation and calculating algorithm were reviewed for the cultivation of children's creativity through promoting their basic skill, mathematical thinking and problem-solving ability. 6. The following contents were also covered as an estimation strategy for measurement 1) Calculating the sense of quantity on the size of unit. 2) Estimating the total quantity by frequent repetition of unit quantity. 3) Estimating the length and the volume by weighing. 4) Estimating unknown quantity based on the quatity already known. 5) Estimating the area by means of equivalent area transformation. 7. The ways of instructing mental computation were presented. 8. Reviews were made on the curricular and the textbook contents concerning estimation instructions both in Korea and Japan. and a new model of curriculum was devised with reference to estimation instruction data of the United States.

모든 학습자가 수학수업에 참여하는 교수.학습 행위 (The teaching-learning practices all learners can participate in mathematics instruction.)

  • 수학교육개혁론자들은 모든 학습자가 수학수업에 참여하는 수업을 이끌어내야 한다고 주장한다. 본고에서는 교사가 이를 실천하기 위한 몇 가지 교수 학습 행위에 대해서 논의하였다. 이에 앞서, 교사는 학습자는 저마다 다른 지적 능력을 갖추고 있기 때문에 저마다 다른 수준에서 지식을 구성할 수 있는 지적 능력이 있다는 정올 인지해야 한다는 점을 강조하였다. 또한, 교실환경꾸미기, 좌석배치, 과제 등에 대한 논의도 이루어졌다, 모든 학습자들이 수업에 참여시키는데 도움이 될 수 있는 교수 학습 행위로 "아동들의 반응에 대한 교사의 경청", "왜 그렇게 생각합니까? 어떻게 알았어요? 이것은 무슨 뜻이에요?", "모든 학습자의 의견을 허용적으로 수용하기", "특정 의견을 지지하지 않음", "기다리는 시간 활용하기", 그리고 "오류 또는 실수에 대한 교사의 반응"에 대해서 논의하였다.

수학영재학생들의 독립연구능력과 수학영재담당교사들의 독립연구 인식 실태 (The Reality of Mathematics Gifted Children's Independent Study Ability and Mathematics Teachers' Recognition of Independent Study)

  • 본 연구는 수학영재학생들의 독립연구 수행 능력이 어떠한지를 알아보고, 수학영재담당 교사들은 독립연구를 어떻게 인식하고 있으며, 현재 독립연구와 관련하여 산출물 제작 실태는 어떠한지를 분석하여 추후 수학영재학생들의 독립연구 수행에 대한 연구의 기초를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 독립연구는 영재학생들이 매우 선호하는 학습스타일로 교사와 함께 주의 깊게 계획되고 빈번히 점검되어 학생들이 자기주도적으로 수행할 때 연구기능 또한 신장된다. 본 연구는 수학영재학생 85명과 수학영재담당 교사 51명을 대상으로 조사연구방법으로 수행되었다. 연구결과 수학영재학생들의 독립연구 수행능력은 매우 낮은 편이었으며, 영재교육경험이 많고 적음에 따라, 교사 관여 없이 과제로 수행된 독립연구 경험의 유무에 따라 능력의 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 수학영재담당 교사들은 독립연구의 필요성은 인식하나 독립연구 방법에 대한 이해가 부족한 것으로 나타났다.

가정과 클럽활동 활성화를 위한 모형 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Development of Model for Home Economics Club Activities)

  • The purpose of this study is to perceive the importance of Club Activities in Home Economics Subject, to analyze the actual condition of management in them, and to develop the model for Home Economics Club Activities. The subjects of this investigation are 252 teachers, who teach Home Economics Subject at middle school located in ChungNam, ChungBuk, TaeJoen, and KyungKi. The results of this study are as follows : 1. Club Activity is one of the educational programs to enhance the desirable development of individuals. And Club Activity is the curricular activity to meet the individual's interest and need as a whole man. 2. In schools which were located in large cities, or large schools, of girls'school, it was investigated that students'opinions was well reflected with sub-plan and master plan for club activities. But as a whole the facilities and spaces, and financial conditions for club activities were not good. In addition, there was the test for club activities at most every year taken. The Club Activities was managed formally, not desirably. On the other hand there were some school which was trying to manage the good program. 3. The model for Club Activities was developed on the basis of the result of the investigation. On the basis of these results, it can be suggested : 1. There should be the right understanding about the whole man education. 2. It is necessary to have an emphasis on self-directed activities and chances in Home Economics Club Activities. 3. It is suggested that Home Economics Subject should be emphasized through the desirable Home Economics Club Activity. 4. In order to develop the model for the desirable Home Economics Club Activity, there should be the post study considering financial support, students'need, number of students continued.

초등수학수업에서 활동중심 교수.학습자료 활용에 대한 조사연구 (A Study of Instructional Materials for Activity-Centered Teaching in Elementary Mathematics)

  • 제7차 교육과정에서 수학교육은 다양한 개인의 능력을 고려하여 학습내용의 적정화, 학습자중심의 활동중심수업 증가, 단계형 수준별 교육을 지향하고 있다. 그러나 실제 초등학교의 많은 교사들이 수학 학습지도에서 겪고 있는 어려움 중의 하나가 상당수의 학생들이 교과서의 내용을 최소한 몇 개월 정도 미리 배워오기 때문에 학교수업은 수준이 낮아 흥미가 없다고 냉소하고, 그렇지 못한 학생들은 학교수업이 너무 부담이 되어 흥미를 잃고 있어 현실적인 대안이 시급하다는 것이다. 이러한 초등수학교실의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방안의 하나로 적절한 교수·학습자료 활용의 수업을 들 수 있다. 이는 아동들에게는 보다 흥미 있는 수업을, 교사들에게는 보다 효과적으로 학습목표에 도달할 수 있게 할 수 있다. 이를 구체적으로 실천하기 위해 초등학교 교과서에서 비중이나 학습난이도가 높은 단원을 찾아 효과적인 교수· 학습자료의 활용방안과 앞으로 자료개발에 도움을 주고자 하였다.

일반대학 군사학 교육과정 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Military Studies Curriculum at the Civilian Universities)

  • 일반대학에 군사학과가 개설된 지 약 10년이 되어간다. 군사학이 일반대학교에서 발전해 나가고 우수한 장교를 배출하기 위하여 교육과정은 중요한 요소 중의 하나이다. 본고는 일반대학 군사학과의 학사학위 교육과정을 어떻게 편성하여야 하는가에 대한 현실적인 해답으로 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 군사학과 교육과정 편성에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 분석하였다. 첫째 군사학 학위수여를 하는 군 기관의 교육과정 편성이다. 위관급 장교에게 필요한 실무수행에 초점을 맞추어져 있고, 육사는 군사학 과목의 대부분을 필수과정으로 편성하고 있다. 둘째 군사학의 학문영역으로 전쟁과 군사력 분야라고 할 수 있다. 셋째 문헌과 학문분류상의 군사학은 사회과학적인 군사학과 공학적인 군사공학으로 분류하고 있다. 넷째 대학교육이 지향하는 방향으로 학문성과 실용성이 균형을 유지해야한다고 보았다. 다섯째 군사학 석박사 과정과도 연계성을 유지해야 하고, 여섯째 수요자인 육군의 요구도 만족하고, 학생지도는 훈육지도 성격이 가미되어야 한다고 보았다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 일반대학 군사학과 학사학위를 위한 교육과정에 포함되어야 할 기준과목을 도출하였다. 교양으로 3개 분야 5개 과목, 전공으로 3개 분야 14개 과목, 총 19개 과목을 제시하였다.

  • In 1987 Ministry of Education published the 5th-revised version of curriculm, the main goal of which is to improve science and culture as well as to educate the students who are able to actively adapt to the 21st century's society. Howerver, the revised curriculum neglects the problems associated with the nature of and localized characteristics of science education. Therefore this research had its main objective to survey and analyze the status of science education of secondary schools in Kangwon Province and, based on the results, to develop the teaching/learning materials appropriate for science education in this province. This research is 3d-Year project and this paper is about its first year research results. The first year's main objective is to investigate and analyze the status of middle school science education, focusing on the curricular operation, science teachers, and lavoratory facilities and instruments. This research used the survey methods. The questionaires were sent to all the middle schools the number of which is 163, and 162 schools of which returned the survey questionaires. Based on the analyses of the data following conclusions were drawn. The average class size is 48.8 students. Almost all of the middle schools alocate the science class hours per week of 4,3,4 hours to first, second, third grade, respectively. However, the greater part of science teachers want 5,4,5 hours of science classes a week. Total number of science teachers exeeds the number actually needed, implicating that many science teachers are teaching non-major subjects. The lavoratory facilities and instruments are not sufficiently provided for lavoratory-based science education. Along with these conclusinons suggestions for better science educations are recommanded. Among the suggestions two are highly emphasized.They are: to increase science class hours; to use field lavoratory substituting for school lavoratory.
