Analysis of Contact Loss Arc Spectrum between Contact Wire and Pantograph Material using a Spectrometer (광계측기를 이용한 전차선-팬터그래프 재질별 이선아크 스펙트럼 분석)

  • To maintain contact between catenary and pantograph copper is important in order to transmit power smoothly on Current collection system. But, Arc discharge with strong light is generated because of contact loss. Therefore, Arc discharge detection is important measurement factor judging performance of current collection system. In this paper, It is described to results of arc discharge applying UV detection technology using arc generator. And Arc discharge was detected using the most commonly used processing catenary and rigid catenary and pantograph copper of electric rolling stock for securing arc detection instrument reliability. Results of contact loss detection instrument in this paper will be used for maintenance of current collection quality and system.

A Verification of the Contact Dynamics of the Current Collection System on a Test Run (실차실험에 의한 집전계의 접촉 동특성 규명)

  • The contact characteristics of the current collection system are investigated by analyzing data collected during a test run of the Korean high speed rail vehicle. For the analysis, the signals from accelerometers and load cells attached to the various parts of the pantograph are analyzed in both the time and frequency domains. In the frequency domain, the pantograph response consists of low frequency components related to the rigid-body motion of the panhead assembly and high frequency components due to the structural vibration modes of the pantograph. The analysis shows that the inclusion of the high frequency structural vibration modes of the pantograph in the contact force calculation has a negligible effect on the predicted mean value of the contact force but significantly affects the magnitude of its fluctuations. This finding implies that numerical simulations using lumped element models of the pantograph may accurately predict the mean contact force but is limited in its capacity for predicting the fluctuation about the mean. Since the ratio of the fluctuation to the mean in the contact force increases with increased train speed, the limitation of the predictions based on numerical simulation results becomes more pronounced at higher train speed.

  • Along with the increase of railway catenary system operation speed to 400 km/h, there have been growing demands for good quality current collection systems that satisfy quality standards as well as criteria for safe working. Retaining uniform elasticity tension of contact wires is essential in maintaining high quality contact between pantograph and OCL (Overhead Contact Line) of current collection systems in high speed railways. Therefore, the tension of contact wire must be kept within tight tolerance limits in both working conditions and adverse weather conditions of catenary system. In accordance with these conditions, this paper presents a real time monitoring system for the tensioning device of the newly installed catenary system on the special route of Honam high speed line for 400 km/h operation. For the verification of the true value of tension of contact wires, we have developed ring-type tensioning sensors which were installed on supporting points of mast which compose the catenary system. According to the field test performed on the Honam high speed line catenary system, variation of tension was measured accurately in real-time.

  • This is a preliminary study on establishing the optimized strategic plan for KISTI's collection. In this paper, major foreign and domestic information centers and the current status and usage of KISTI's collection are analyzed. Also included are the suggestion of a strategic solution for optimizing KISTI's collection and the discussion regarding KISTI's roles and strategies.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the present status of foreign academic journal collection in Korea and to explore the problem. In order to survey the current situation, the data from "Union Catalogue of Foreign Journals:Science & Technology, 1992" database constructed by Korea Institute of Industry and Technology Information has been analyzed. Major problems are poor collections, collection overlap, and lack of resource sharing.

The Plan for Activating Collection Services of Public Library in Seoul Metropolitan (서울시 공공도서관 자료서비스 활성화 방안)

  • The goal of this study is to propose the plan for activating collection services of public library in Seoul. For this goal, author analyzed and compared the core infrastructure, collection services, and their correlation of public libraries in 16 local governments and evaluated environment and the current situation of collection service of public libraries in Seoul. Based on the these results, author suggested five plans or strategies for vitalizing the collection services of public libraries. All public libraries in Seoul must maximize the visibility of the new collections, supply the culture(life-long learning) programs based on library collections, expand the breadth of the collection service through library cooperation system, strengthen interlibrary loan by establishment of the collaborative repository, and raise the awareness of the citizens about the library and collections.

  • Public Libraries in Seoul have been steadily increasing their numbers from 4 libraries in 2004 to 15 libraries in 2009. On the contrary, the size of recently established public libraries have been reduced compared to the previous ones. Because of their limited space, which cannot manage increasing collection, public libraries started collection disposal. This research investigated public libraries' disposal standards and present conditions of collection items. Based on this investigation, enhance way of the collection disposal was suggested.

  • This study is conducted to get current state of data collection and utilization of the trees damaged by pine wilt disease, and to efficiently collect and utilize of the trees damaged by the pine wilt disease and abandoned fumigation-treated trees at forecasts. The method to control pine wilt disease damaged area is mostly fumigation treatment system, and there is no collection and utilization of damaged trees because of absence of efficient collection system, lack of collection cost, and absence of policy, etc. A survey is conducted that asked about the satisfaction degree for the trees damaged by pine wilt disease collection and use divided into 6 topics. It was positively recognized that the need and problem of the trees damaged by pine wilt disease, and results and satisfaction of forestry mechanization while it was mostly negatively recognized that the policy satisfaction for prevention and collection, satisfaction of collection and use, collection and forestry mechanization, and satisfaction of foundation equipment for forestry mechanization, etc. As a result of path analysis, it is necessary to promote a high-tech forestry mechanization to improve satisfaction level of results and satisfaction of forestry mechanization for the trees damaged by pine wilt disease collection and utilization, it is also need to make an effort in various ways for improve satisfaction level of satisfaction of collection and utilization.

A Study on Configuring dCollection as the Linked Data (dCollection의 링크드 데이터 구축에 관한 연구)

  • The institutional repository and linked data share a purpose, co-creation and joint usage of information resources. Therefore, a new approach linking these two concepts can be utilized for co-production and utilization of resources. This study hoped to configure the Korean dCollection repository as linked data. For this purpose, first, we analyzed the current data structure of dColleciton. Second, we investigated the resource types which dCollection is targeting. Third, we focused and analyzed a case study of resource types targeted by dCollection constructed as linked data. Fourth, this study examined in detail how to build the linked dCollection data and how to connect this linked data to the linked cloud. Finally, we discussed the problems that might oc cur in the process of building the linked data.

  • This study strives to perform a pilot collection assessment study with the political science collection in a university library. Employing the basic list-checking analysis method, the study scrutinized the collection statistics and the circulation statistics, and check the current library holdings with a standard list which was composed of cited works extracted from course syllabi, theses, dissertations and faculty research papers. Although the study is a pilot case study that a particular model was applied to a collection in the field of political science, the result and procedures of the assessment will provide some implications regarding collection assessment in university libraries.
